In the Style of Alexi Laiho -kurssi julkaistaan 16.11.
Tällä kurssilla tutustaan perinpohjaisesti yhteen kaikkien aikojen metallikitaristeista. Alexi Laihon (1979-2020) kaoottinen matka kitaramaailman ikoniksi ja äärimetallin suvereeniksi soihdunkantajaksi kesti lähes 30 vuotta. Sinä aikana hänen klassista musiikkia, thrashia, black metalia ja punkkia yhdistelevä vimmattu kitarointinsa ja sävellystyönsä ehti inspiroimaan miljoonia kitaristeja ja musiikkifaneja ympäri maailman.
Kurssilla käydään läpi Laihon käyttämää laitteistoa, soittotekniikoita, soundeja ja vaikutteita. Esimerkkikappaleina toimivat Children of Bodom -yhtyeen viiden ensimmäisen levyn klassikkokappaleet "Lake Bodom", "Silent Night, Bodom Night", "Hate me!", "Angels Don't Kill", "Needled 24/7" ja "Are You Dead Yet?", joista saat käyttöösi myös laadukkaat taustanauhat. Kurssilla käytetään autenttisia Laiholle kuuluneita kitaraa ja vahvistimia.
Kurssin opettajana toimii Lost Society -yhtyeen nuori supertähti, kitaristi-laulaja Samy Elbanna. Jyväskylästä isoille lavoille ponnistanut Elbanna tarttui kitaraan ensimmäisen kerran 11-vuotiaana juuri Alexi Laihon inspiroimana. Myöhemmin hän tutustui Laihoon myös henkilökohtaisesti ja vuosina 2018-2020 he soittivat yhdessä The Local Band -yhtyeessä. Warmen already do CoB covers live, given that have Janne from CoB, his brother who also played guitar in CoB and Petri... that's a pretty decent tribute act.

Sammy is the rightful heir to Alexi’s throne. I’d love if they did a tour with Sammy on guitar and vocals.
It's rare that a guitar player can absolutely nail another player's style and nuances but you really captured Alexi perfectly imo. Amazing job!

It's so cool and heartwarming to see this. Samy is a phenomenal player and really deserves presenting this with Alexi's gear. I miss Alexi, forever in my heart.
there is no way in hell, when samy was on tour with alexi, alexi didnt give him guitar lessons with all of these songs, its perfect tabs, like even the rare tab shit. After alexi died the band came out with this incredible album in a totally different style. theres something going on here, its fucking incredible, thank you so much samy, if anyone got the soul of alexi im glad it was you love you brother

I''d never thought I'd say this... but if you don't take the writing into consideration, I think Samy could replace Alexi on stage any day. He's a phenomenal player, also while jumping around singing, so he could quite surely do Alexis songs as well.

Joo, jännä asia että kitaristit jotka osaa soittaa ylistää Alexia, joskaan ei turhaan.. Totuushan on kuitenkin se että aika monet Alexin "keksimät" on apinoitu Latvalalta.. Harmittaa Roopen puolesta ettei ole koskaan saanut ansaittua arvostusta laajemmin.. Tietäjät tietää.. 😊

Kannattaa kuunnella lost society ja varsinkin ”vanhaa” materiaalia. Samy elbannalla sattuu olemaan myös oma bändi. Parhaimmin pääsee kärryille kun kattoo lost societyn 2015 vuoden keikkoja. On muuten meno sellaista ettei ole nähty 80 luvun jälkeen missään.

Tämä nyt enemmänkin liittyy rockwayn kitarakursseihin. Hienoa, että melodethiäkin opetetaan perus metallibiisien lisäksi. Jostainhan opettelijoiden on lähdettävä liikkeelle, että oppivat soittamaan. Vai meinaatko, että kitarakurssilaisten pitäisi opetella jotain perusharjoituksia pelkästään ja sitten alkaa kehittämään omia biisejä heti aluksi, jotta eivät soita covereita?
