Samurai Shodown, released on August 11, 1993, is a weapons-based fighting game released by SNK initially on Neo Geo and then ported to various home platforms. The game takes place in Feudal Japan and was one of the first fighting games to focus on combat using the characters' weapons, differing a bit from what was seen at the time.
