Hey guys! just read all these lovely comments which you made and am so flattered and appreciate your kind words. A few of you mentioned Gould and he has been a huge inspiration to both of us throughout our lives - I still remember getting the CD of his (later) recording as a teenager. His approach to rhythm and pulse is crucial to these variations and something we always try to maintain. We will finally get to premiere the full set (with the repeats!) at the Dublin Internation Chamber Music Festival in June 2024 and are very excited to do so. Thank you so much for listening and taking the time to say such nice things xx

Although Glenn Gould set a towering interpretation of the Goldberg variations - he also said many many times (and demonstrated this himself) that re-discovering the piece time and again - every time finding new treasures, and different viewpoints - is what makes it real music. So -- the last thing on earth I would expect, or desire, is that you (or any other artist) would just retrace his footsteps. Of course your interpretation is what matters most! and it is a very good one! Please excuse me for finding even humor in some passages that make it sound like a Parisian valse, or... I don't know. So many colors, so many alternative feelings. BTW -- do you sell an album with this performance in good audio quality? I would VERY MUCH want to purchase it. thanks again.

Accordion is a keyboard. It sounds like a little organ.

Incredible talent. As an accordionist myself, I only can admire his phrasing. He doesn't rush, takes the time to develop the melodic lines. This is a delight to listen to. An album of this would be dope !

Got the feeling something fantastic. Most of the artists are playing it mechanically. Samulele doesn't. Bravo!

I play pipe and electronic organ as well as free bass accordion. I believe if Bach had an accordion (weren't invented yet) he would have preferred an accordion version. An organ is so much of a mechanical instrument, whereas the accordion thanks to its bellows becomes a breathing/singing instrument. To an accordion the bellows is like the bow on a violin or breathe control on a flute. And Samuele truly makes his instrument sing. Your dynamics and interpretation are superb.

NICE!!!!! never have believed it is even possible, let alone satisfactory, as a musical instrument for these variations. I admit I nearly gave up by the middle of the first Aria - maybe because It really doesn't "sing" well on the accordion , but the next variations are each better than its predecessor.... VERY WELL DONE! Bravo!

ah no - that's too much praise! We both became huge fans of Gould as teenagers and remain huge fans. His approach to rhythm is so incredible. We started to play the Goldbergs together during the pandemic when we were not permitted to drive more than 5kms from our homes and certainly not rehearsse together so we recoprded our individual parts with metronome and emailed them to each other so the result is hopefully rhythmic (with a good sense of pulse which each variation absoultely needs!)

just our own - nothing other than dividing up the part (no major re-arranging required) - "you play the upper line and I play the lower line" when there is a canon I played the lower voice and bass line and Merint played the upper voice. I think the individual voices of the canojn work well with 2 players.
