Thanks so much!! Yesterday I looked at a couple of other videos on this topic and I just couldn't do the transfer. Thankfully I found your video today and all I needed to do on my old phone was install the smart switch ap, and then everything worked perfectly. The other videos kept taking me to settings to look for smart switch and it wasn't there so nothing happened. Obviously, I'm not tech savy so thanks a bunch for the part about installing the ap on the old phone.

You can transfer the sim before or after. It wouldn’t matter because now a days, SIM cards provide service and don’t hold info. Very good video. I have two questions if you could please respond I would greatly appreciate it. 1) on my old Samsung I have some apps stored on micro SD due to storage issues.Will they transfer automatically or do I need to restore them to internal memory before switching?? 2) I have most apps from Google play and some from the Samsung store so should I use the Switch app from the Samsung app Store or Google? @Kevlar, When you are using Smart Switch, It should give you the option to move items over from Internal and SD. If the SD option doesn't show for apps, then yes, move them over to internal before the transfer. You can download the switch app from either sources. They're both the same! Thanks for watching!!

Hi, just a clarification. I need to switch data from my old S10 to the new S24 using Smart Switch. I mounted a memory card on the old S10. Can you use smart switch more than once between the same phones? Let’s say you’ve added new messages in between starting to use your new phone. And want the new phone to be up to date with messages and call history? Been trying it and now the old phone will only receive data from new phone. When I want the old phone to resend the data to the new phone. Looking for help.

I just got a s11, and for whatever reason the software isn't "compatible" with it, for the smartswitch, I'll try to find a software update, but do you have any suggestions?

I do have a suggestion! If samsung smart switch doesn't work, try Google One Backup! I use that as my "back up" option. Thanks for watching!!

What about social media apps such as IG, Twittet, Tinder, etc..? All the data (friends list, account, chats history) can be transferred and restored on new phone?

Lots of data can be transferred to the new phone. It’s not always 100% but the app tries. Account logins does not transfer. You’ll have to re login to each app and usually the info populates with it. Thanks for watching!!

I'm very impressed by your video, which stands out from the rest. But I'm not at all tech savvy and won't give it a try until you've granted me your professional advice about two key issues: 1) is Samsung Smart Switch compatible with LGK8 and Moto G5 or do I need to download "Smart Switch: Transfer my Data" instead? 2) will the transfer remove the data from my old phone? Thank you for the kind words! To answer your question, if your old phone are able to download Samsung Smart Switch, it should be able to connect to a new Samsung phone to start the transfer process. When you start the transfer process, the information from the old device will not be deleted. What Samsung Smart Switch does is, copy information from old and then paste the information to new. So if you’re worried that you may not have everything on the new phone, you can always relay back to the old one. Thank you for watching!

And my new phone is Moto 5G. Please kindly advise if it will be okay to download Smart Switch instead of Samsung Smart Switch to avoid any incompatibility if there is, but with the same results. For app transfers, smart switch will not save app data and login info. After you switch your stuff over, you’ll have to log back in to everything and your data may be saved through the email or account info from before

Do you need to enable wifi or mobile data if you are using wireless method to transfer? What happens if no internet connect halfway, then if you redo will it resume or restart? Thanks

Good question! All you need is just your wifi and Bluetooth turned on when using wireless transfer. The wireless uses Wi-Fi Direct to connect. Thanks for watching!

Doing a smart switch from phone to tablet should be simple, but those devices may either have to get updated then try via Bluetooth transfer or SD card transfer. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

I have a note 10+ and got an s22 ultra. Data transfer is not happening either by cable or wireless. Wireless says check are connected to same wifi and they are. By cable i get a message says cant transfer. Any advise?

If your phone is a bit old… there may be an alternative. Try via Bluetooth the files. Another option is transferring the files to google drive!

Aright one thing you guys need to take note is, for every websites you ever been visit to, from the Samsung internet explorer, and "add to favorite bookmark" that, you can never bring them onto another new phone, no matter how I tried.

my new samsung s21phone only gives the option to send to data not recive from my S9! they never see each other cable or wifi even with a local hotspot connection or bluetooth they will connect on hotspot and Btooth but app never connects to each other

That’s a load of rubbish android is so user unfriendly that when transferring data the transfer percentage disappears on the new phone. You have to swipe down to check the progress. I missed this and started to download WhatsApp from the play store not knowing that data was still being transferred. iOS is way simpler it continues to clearly show transfer rate until 100% complete.
