I purchased Vivo X100 pro after watching many comparisons. O boy it beats DSLR in the photos which were taken in our company's dinner party. DSLR was terrible because it requires post processing in all the shots and our marketing staff didn't have a time to do that.

@@muchomalo100 Then buy the global version of the Vivo X100 Pro which has the key B20 bandwidth network that you need in Netherlands and most Europe. The Chinese version does not have this bandwidth so you may have reception issue.

The quality of the pictures has almost nothing to do with the camera itself and almost everything to do with the person who operates it. If the person who used the Vivo X100 Pro had been operating the DLSR, the resulting photographs would have been even better.

DSLR isnt terrible because it is the original as whatever you seen by eyes. Vivo X100 pro has AI to generate the photos. Vivo x100 pro is more for beginner who doesnt know how to process the photos or people who dont have time to process.

OPPO to me, for the best portrait looking. VIVO may have the best natural bokeh thanks to that 4.3x zoom but I couldnt see it here

I bought the Vivo in January. The chinese variant (Im in Ireland) and its brilliant. I only started using it recently as I was using my mi 11 ultra up to that point and I love that phone also. For anyone thinking whether to buy or not just go for it. Origin OS is great and they have already had multiple updates to it this year. Its an amazing phone

@@user-du1fr1hx5q It comes with a factory installed screen protector. Put it this way, I've dropped this phone twice face down on the ground and not a scratch on the screen. The first time I dropped it In was certain I had smashed it but not a mark

hard to pick among these until low light video and photos. 14:07 blown away with this photo, feels like being there myself. the color, contrast, saturation is good. the brightness of the scene probably matches the Samsung and the Oppo but Vivo wins this by a mile.

Excellent comparison, what a good job ! I own the Oppo X7 Ultra and Viso X100 Pro. I definititely agree with you. For zoom, details and night shots: Vivo X100 Pro is the best For portrait, and colors respected: Oppo X7 Ultra is the best. There is no clear winner. The issue with the X100 Pro is that colors by day time are fantasists. My problem is that I like both of them and I can not decide which one I have to sell 😂

I have this same issue. And I shot a lot of video where I find the X7 Ultra is better and better mics. Vivo video can have focus issues and the mics are bad but then those zoom and day shots + macro are stunning! If the X Fold3 Pro is as good as it looks I will sell the Oppo And X100 and keep the X Fold3 Pro until may the Vivo X100 Ultra coming in about 3-4 weeks 😂😂

Vivo are using a non Snapdragon chipset, ISP and even an older IMX989 main image sensor that's 2+ years old but they're still on top of their game and easily handling and beating the competition overall even if it's not leagues ahead. Their optimization and firmware updates are really paying off and it shows.

Bottom of the line is IMX989 is still the same sensor as LYT-900, which is an improved version of IMX989, not a new one, but seeing how it performs in comparison to IMX989, it seems like they exaggerated how improved it really is. It is a little better in some aspects, but nothing that cannot be compensated with good software, which is what Vivo did with X100 Pro.

Vivo deserves a lot more praise here. Vivo does NOT rely on their chipset for image processing, they literally made their own Vivo V3 ISP to handle all camera stuff. Mediatek is still piss useless in the flagship space, explains why you can only see Snapdragon or Exynos internationally.

@@wearefromserbia9714 Antutu scores don't measure camera processint performance buddy. And it's the most important part of a flagship SoC. And Mediatek has a piss useless and beyond garbage NPU, which is why Vivo needed their own V3 NPU to cover for their shit chip

Thanks so much for doing this one Chris!! I am so happy with the Oppo after all the updates. Theres still more to come as well, they are promising something called "raw max". I also love shooting JPEGs in auto mode using the master profile, gives a nice vintage feel to daylight shots

I'm also so glad they improved things because boy was it disappointing on the first few firmware updates. A bit like the Xiaomi14 Ultra right now. Still like you I'm waiting for even more to come! Plus of course the X100 Ultra.

@@Techtablets absolutely mate I think they were struggling to get a handle on that new 1 inch sensor, xiaomi might be as well, vivo should have an advantage being able to optimize it properly before releasing their ultra beast. Oppo also had to take a magnet out of the OIS system in the 6x periscope lens due to space constraints, I guess that's why it was such a a jittery mess at first. But it's a lot better now, wish the aperture was faster on that lens like on the Xiaomi 5x but you can't have everything 😆

Thanks Chris for the updated comparison. I bought the Global version of the X100 Pro when it was released in Singapore based on your review late last year. I have been very pleased with this phone. The cameras are outstanding, bearing in mind I came from the Oppo Find X6, which already has a very good camera setup. Keep up the good work with the outstanding videos.

I like how these companies give us distinct outputs to satisfy different tastes when taking pictures. Either way, these images will be compressed when uploaded to Social Media and will only be determined if a watermark exists. All phones did an outstanding job! Great review, as always, Chris!

I think this is where reviewers get things wrong. People are not looking for realistic photos, they want the most flattering pictures and the vivo delivers exactly that. Remember people buying these phones are not photographers.

Partially agree. but you can disable some of that in Vivo. The clarity of the pics on Vivo is on next level, I had both s24U and X100 pro. pictures on x100 pro are great. S24u hit or miss.

That was a really great comparison! I find it disheartening that there are so many excellent phones out in the market now that simply will not work on local carriers, or are not supported in the US. I have always preferred Android and Samsung is pretty much the only game in town. Always love your work! I'm believing I should retire and move to Spain! 🌻

Thank you for the support, it's nice to hear after so many silly fanboy comments that Vivo paid me, Oppo pained me etc. It's a shame the US doesn't get them or they work on your carriers i'm lucky they do here and in NZ. Spain seems like a perfect place to retire!

My current phone already has a similar setup to the Vivo albeit with older and smaller sensors. It's jsut that the Vivo has done well in tricky situations and has a good clarity although sometimes almost AI styled. Seems to work at night photos really well

Awesome review, I'm using X7 Ultra and portrait shot is much better than my friend's S24U

Despite all the greatness of Opp Find X7 Ultra, it has a fatal flaw - no Global ROM, no embedded google services. I'm not buying an expensive smartphone just for camera.

For me, maybe I'm biased as i have the S24 Ultra but a lot of times I've found it took the better picture... Only one's it got crushed was the lightbulb at night and the zoom portrait.

in Vivo, you need to consider turning the HDR on and off, the Enhanced Night Sky, and for portrait, the beautification. It seems a lot more work than point and shoot though, but it's the way to almost always win each category. Although day time video and stability, vivo is not the best out of the three.

Definitely going to get vivo, using xiaomi 13 pro from giztop for a year now, i was not impressed by camera performance even though it got some updates. That 1 inch sensor ain't perfect. Also zoom is quite lacking too, atleast gen 2 cpu was okey not overheating as much as gen 1 and gen 3

Vivos processing is just on point, at least more often than not, very happy with my x100 Pro 🤩

Still overall the vivo seems the best but it’s really getting close with especially the Oppo. This time around the vivo lost a little bit on the portraits but, from what I’ve seen before, it can do a bit better in that regard. That Zeiss natural colors mode kills the opposition though.

Separation between edges of target object and background (blur).

I have the Vivo. I wish you could turn off the ai face processing, the further you are from your subject the worse it gets. Take a photo of someone with the telephoto and then zoom to 100%, sometimes the results are really bad. Only way to turn it off is with pro mode. Great cameras apart from that.
