Here in Singapore, the S23 Ultra costed $1100 and the 15 Pro Max $2000! (Both in SGD). Absolutely insane price difference. Of course, the iPhone is more expensive because well, it's an iPhone, and there are a lot of blinded Apple sheep's here. As in they don't even know what they're getting, they just get iPhones because of the brand. Hence, it was out of stock and still is I believe. The 15 Pro Max was the first iPhone I thought I may switch to but I'm not stupid to spend that much money on a phone barely better than the S23 Ultra. So I got the S23 Ultra instead, and it's been amazing!

The samsung Galaxy S23 is almost a year now.

Great comparison video, especially the last section around comparing the ecosystem (watch, earbuds, etc.) which is actually the main thing given they're the best in their own category (Android/iOS) as smartphones.

There is a way to get rid of the yellowish hue with True Tone turned ON. Go to settings> accessibility> display and text size> color filters and then turn it on and then select color tint. Slide the INTENSITY slider all the way to the left> and then adjust the HUE slider to your liking.

Usually not mentioned, but video streaming from example Netflix, Disney+ etc. iOS gives you Dolby Vision and in Samsung, it is limited to HDR or only HD. If this is thing you care, keep it in mind.

I was mostly an apple user all my life. I dabbled with pixels on and off, galaxies etc to test. I had the 15 pro and returned it for the pixel 8 pro and I haven't even thought about going back to apple. I can't wait for the S24 Ultra

I've never used iPhones before but usually playing mobile games the iOS has always been smoother than my samsung phones I've owned through the years, i wonder would this be any different

I am Samsung and spouse is iPhone. We swap phones and I miss voice camera control on iphone and she can't get comfortable with the slightly larger size of my Ultra. Other than those things I don't think there is a nickel's difference. The cameras each have particular things they do better than the other brand. I got better battery life with s23u over 15PM but it's not a big gap. 15PM has gotten warm, both are in Defender cases.

7:57 That's because you are recording at 4k60. Lower to 30fps and it will let you switch lenses. Though is pretty disappointing to still see it not able to do it at 60fps.

It can switch lenses at 4k60, that's not the issue. The issue is that switching to the ultra wide while recording makes you lose the higher quality of the primary lens. It is also visually unappealing to put something in front of my phone to take a picture of or record and the ultra wide auto switch kicks on which kills the quality. Same issue with the 14 Pro and now on the base 15 too. The 13 allows you to get very close on the primary lens without any of this nonsense which hopefully I portrayed well enough in the video

I love the s23 ultra one thing i don't like is the size! the weight is fine and you get used to it kind of but some situations it can still be a pain! I also aint a huge fan of the fingerprint sensor for the most part faceid is just king when it comes to unlocking. I'm about to try the 15 pro as my previous phone was the 13 pro before i got the s23 ultra but if it doesn't impress me with brightness,battery,cameras then it will go back and i'll keep the s23 ultra until maybe the s25 or iphone 16-17pro . I'm really torn right now as i don't like the galaxy watch that much it works fine does the same things i just really like the Apple watch but i can't justify using an iphone just to have an Apple watch. the Ultra has the best display i've ever seen on a phone it's incredible! ps. Molly was the star of this video 😊

@ShaneSymonds, Great video! I've always had a love-hate relationship with iPhones. I'm currently using the S23 Ultra. Fantastic phone, no doubt about that. I never use the S Pen at all. And I don't care for the squared corners. And it's a little too tall. Everyone touts the customability of the Androids, but if you aren't really customizing anything but ringtones or wallpaper, it's really a moot point when considering an iPhone. I've only had a couple of iPhones in the past (mostly was an Android user) and my main gripe was the flashlight always turning on when jiggling around in my jacket pockets. If it were allowed I'd uninstall the flashlight app as I don't use phone flashlights. The only time the light it ever used is for a flash for the camera.

both phones are great phones, the decision comes down to which OS do you prefer, the S23 Ultra is the best Android has to offer and the 15 PM is the best Apple has to offer so its all down to: do you want the features such as side loading, very detailed customizations and being able to use your phone with basically any Windows or Android device out there or do you want the enclosed well designed ecosystem apple has created at the cost of less customization and third party device compatibility

I got the 512 gigs model of the 23U a few weeks. It was actually cheaper then the base model. I came from an 11 pro max. I really love the samsung. However, i still wouldve gotten an iphone if they weren't so darn expensive. Here in NL the prices of the 14 pm are higher now then they initially were. Even the 15plus costs more then my 23U. Which is why i went with samsung. I am not complaining as this truely is a great phone. But i do believe it is crazy how expensive these phones are. Expecially considering how little the upgrades actually are each year. Which isn't strange, i think at this point these phones are ao great, what is there to improve apart from subtle changes every year?

Right? The differences each year are minimal yet they sell it to use like the differences are huge... Nevertheless I also want to get a S. 23 Ultra 😅. Is it clever to buy them right now? Because I heard in February the S24 ultra will come. Should I wait until then to buy the s23 ultra? Will it be a lot cheaper? Do you think the price will get down before Christmas? 🙂

@loveistheanswer5924 I got mine at a great bargain. Idk what would be the right time point to buy. It depends on where you are in the world. I got mine just in time as prices are up again. Just look around and keep an eye out. Maybe blackfriday may get u a nice deal. If you don't mind spending full price, then u could wait for the 24U. Otherwise I would get the 23u and save money. Its a great phone and the battery life is really good too

Last year I switched from 11 pro to 14 pro Max and now I’m thinking to get s23 Ultra or maybe s24 Ultra because I feel that Samsung phones offers much better value for money than iPhones like last I bought 256gb 14 pro max for around 1750 USD whereas S23 Ultra costs around 1200 USD, the only reason why I’m sticking with my iPhone is because I’m heavily invested in Apple ecosystem, not only this I kinda hate late updates and bloatwares on Samsung devices.

@anuragdubey163 if you can afford an iphone then you're right to have upgrade there. Still not complaining, it truly is a grear phone but there's things that just work better on an iphone. The most annoying thing is paying online or with my phone. My iphone never had problems. The Samsung often has issues with it. I don't know where the issues lies with this. I just know the iphone does things right at one go. The best thing about the 23u is the battery. It's absolutely great

@@Richarmed What payment issues are you experiencing? Is contactless payment not always working for you? I'm also curious whether these issues are with Samsung Pay, or if you're using Google Wallet. I'm planning to buy something from the S23 series, so I'm interested. By the way, I never have payment problems with my Samsung A52, although I use Google Pay instead of Samsung's service. Also, there might be an issue with face unlock, as it seems Android doesn't consider it a secure method, but I'm not sure.

iPhone is king of smartphone either way. The ecosystem is refined and reliable and ages better. Android always felt slower after a while. Only reason most people don’t buy it is because they don’t like how expensive it is

Coming from a xiaomi mi 10 ultra and the slow charging times for both the iphone and samsung are real bummers. Being able to go from empty to full in 25 min with my old phone was an absolute killer feature that made plugging your phone in 5 min before leaving the house actually give you enough charge to last you a decent while.

Great review. With Samsung, you can switch lenses whilst video recording in all video modes except for 4K60. Anything below that you can switch lenses.

Friend, I have a normal iPhone 15 and I'm thinking about switching to the S23 ultra because I like to play emulators and it's not free on the iPhone. But I have doubts whether the S23 camera is better than the normal iPhone 15 in photos and videos and which of the two will upload better quality on Instagram?

I wanted to ask you if you also noticed that Android is much faster than iOS if you use the smartphone quickly and also because of the universal back button that dramatically improves productivity, making iPhone an inefficient device that wastes you so much time. A very serious thing.

Definitely a bigger issue on the Max iPhone. On the smaller one, it's easy to reach across the screen to go back. Android and Samsung in particular are masters of large phones, Apple just takes the same thing and makes it bigger.

Using S23 Ultra makes things go faster, you are more productive because of navigation gestures. 15 Pro Max can’t match the ability to navigate from Left to Right or Right to Left, whatever the app. Same for Multi-tasking: i can use Split View and Floating Windows like i do on my Windows laptop 💻 with touch Windows+⬅️ /Windows+➡️. What i really on iPhone, is smoothnest when you navigate between apps, since iOS can do Split View.

Wrong on switching while recording. I do it all the time. Not sure about settings or whatnot. I know i do it, but maybe you're in pro mode or something. I'm generally default settings.

Used to be an Apple fan for many, many years. That was until I picked up the S21 Ultra. Bought the 22U and now the 23U Havent looked back since. I never used iMessage, so could care less though. I use the AirPods Pro 2 along with the TabS 8 Plus and the S23U. Using the Wavelet EQ app on those devices, allows for the AirPods to shine in terms of sound. Why the AirPods, well, they sound the beast, better real deep bass, and they stay in my ear. I USE DEX ALL THE TIME! Apple cannot compare.

That usb type c accessory to simply charge the watch 😂😂

Yeah interestingly though I think each phone serves its purpose well. Samsung phones are often about maximizing user experiences with more saturated screen/camera results, whereas iPhone aims for what's the most "realistic/normal" and each does their own job very well. Its just up to people to decide which they prefer

Great content. The action button needs to have double and triple tap to impress me. The iPhone is getter there. But, not until apple lets their chips lose to let their phone have multitasking, and let you do what you want to do on the home screen. Then I'll be impressed.

I agree that last years iPhones were REALLY heavy, my mum has one and it keeps falling off the stand in the car and denting the aluminium underneath it lol 😂

My main phone is an S23 Ultra as well. But I am also planning to get an iPhone 15 Pro as my second phone. I am hesitating though bcoz of the OLED burn in issue I am seeing online. An iPhone 15 Pro 256GB in my country costs a whopping $1,375 which is ludicrous. I guess I am gonna give it 3-6 months more so that I get the newest batch.

Moved from note 10 plus to iphone 13 pro max. Missing the spen and split screen so bad. Waiting for s24 ultra to move back to android. Also missed so much customization features.

i don't think the S23 Ultra doesn't allow lense changing during video capture.. I have an S10+ and it has that capability, also.. no reviewer has mentioned this since the phone was released until u! also MrWhoseTheBoss made a video about the S23 Ultra and said lense changing during video is possible, just that it's not as smooth

I have an s21 ultra. Not really a tech savy guy. I just got my iphone 15 pro max 2days ago. Honestly i cant tell whether i did an upgrade or not. 120hz is definitely screaming in my s21 ultra while i cant really feel it from my iphone 15 pro max though i already set it up to get 120hz. The color and smoothness while browsing id still give it to my s21 ultra.

Good comparison. For me the s23 ultra would be my daily driver, but with the Apple ecosystem I stick with Apple. My earbuds pro 2 fall out all the time and I really enjoy the iPad. I stick with Garmin Epix Gen 2 watch since the Apple and Samsung watches are not the best.

After getting the S9 Plus on release, upgrading to S20 plus and then using an S23 Ultra one thing which I couldn’t deal with any longer is how poor it performs in the car (2014 BMW NBT idrive). Ergonomically the iPhone is way ahead and let’s be real, when it comes to real everyday users and people who aren’t glued to their phones all day, these things do the same things very well. I’ve gone back to the iPhone and other than the cost, I have no regrets.

Tbh I am pretty disappointed in the s22 ultra, everything seems to lag and stutter. Going to be getting the 15 pro max to see if i go back to samsung or stay with apple

I love iPhone. Its so simple and easy to use. The 14 pro max was my favorite phone. But i switch to z fold 5 my wife has s23 ultra. I miss the apple ecosystem. However i dont have the watch yet or the earbuds. And it's only been like 3 months. I just cant justify selling my fold 5.

@@reziee5897 Not necessarily. LG and BOE also make iPhone screens. Also True Tome doesn’t make the screen worse it just makes colours more warm. Which is what he was complaining about. If he turned it off both screens would be very similar.

@@reziee5897 that’s not true. LG and BOE are still making iPhone screens. “Worse” isn’t the correct word. You prefer cooler tones so you’d have True Tone off. The screen is still performing the same with True Tone on. Pixel density, refresh rate, resolution is all the same. So it’s not worse. You just prefer the look without it on. Which is why he should have turned it off when comparing the two screens.

@@IronsWHU when I said Worst…”at least for me” we have different preference I make my own judgement so you do you. It’s just a fancy name of iphone it more likely the same with eyecomfort shield adjusting the temperature in a different lighting condition or environment. As the primary supplier of OLED panels to Apple, Samsung Display will be responsible for manufacturing displays for all four models iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I really want to switch to S23/S24 Ultra from 14 pro max but the Apple ecosystem is what holding me back.. I have ipad, macbook, airpods and watch but I only care about mac and my watch, as I dont use ipad that much and I can use airpods with samsung also but leaving mac is not easy also Apple watches are better than Samsung and other android brands.. also I don't like using 2 smartphones.

both phones are great! it is a matter of personal preference,, i m going to buy the 15PM because i m sick of android phones,, cause of the minimum changes throughout the years,, plus i like that when i wanna capture a photo or something real quick the moment i scroll down on instagram, i can use instagram camera and be great, like all my friends do with their iphones, even with iphone 7 plus,, while my samsung s9+ struggles with camera , and especially batteryy. If i regret it i will sell at some point in a couple years the iphone and buy an s24ultra or s25 who knows. I also love apple's approach of selfies and portraits..

I use s23u and my sister 15proMx, the only significant improvement I can find from the iPhone is that the quality of videos in 15proMax are more consistent or useable compared to s23u. Apart from that, samsung wins all the way.

Do we always have to buy the buttons separately or only if you are going to change their color?

Each case comes with buttons, then you can spend like $1 for additional sets of buttons

S23 Ultra looks great.

Unfortunately on the bad side this recent update UI 6.0 Android 14 I've been hearing a lot of bad reviews but don't get me wrong I still prefer Android over iPhone any day I previously owned an iPhone it was a long time ago from personal experience I like my Android

It is only a mather of what you like, what takes down both phones. That is no easy way to transfer photos/video's/files easy between the unit's. Iphone have the lovely airdrop what is so good and works very good. I have my self change from iphone to s23 ultra, my first and last iphone ever was 12 pro max. Not a bad phone by any means, but i prefer android. Before the 2 years of usage with 12 pro max, i had android phones since they came out. Do you have any suggestion how to drop files easy between iphone and samsung?

I'm wondering what the S24 will look like..S23 U is still beating i15pM.

Two brilliant devices for sure, that excel in so many ways equally and not so equally. The IPhone is the newest and has widely reported early problems like overheating and slow charging and rattling speakers and poor quality coating on the titanium frame and poor structural integrity, but is the gaming issues that reviewers are still reporting (overheating and severe frame dropping)even after update 17.0.3, that would concern me if contemplating buying one. The S23 Ultra is tried and tested and generally very very reliable and represents a much safer purchase at this point in time.

Maybe, but basically every time an iPhone is released, these issues pop up and fade into the distance over time for a couple of reasons. 1. A lot of people just hate Apple for being Apple. Some people hate it because it's too popular, other people hate it because Apple users are insufferable. Either way, they want to convince themselves iPhones are terrible. 2. iPhones are the biggest selling model of phone, so it stands to reason that since more people use them, more people will have issues with them. It's the law of large numbers, if 50% of people use iPhone and 25% of people use Galaxy's, and both of them have the same rate of issues, the number of people experiencing issues on the iPhone will be double.

Some people are saying that the overheat issue already solved after the 17.0.3 update and some youtuber says that it's actually better than most android phones in case of overheat while gaming. On the other hand I'm contemplating buying the S23 Ultra since My friend Note 20 Ultra motherboard broke down and the phone is not useable anymore and I heard there is a lot of display issues like showing up lines on the other ultra series. Since I usually not changing my phone (currently Note 8) for long time that why I'm still thinking of either one of theese two. And for using same phone for more than 5 years looks like Apple give more system update than samsung while Samsung stop the update at 4 years of release and security update at 5 years, but truthfully I feel iphone are overpriced since most of their new features like action button and always on display already available on my 6 years old phone 😅

As a Samsung user and an old Iphone user , up to the 12 Pro Max, as much as i like the feel of IOS, i cant go back, Iphone just no innovation and lacking features, i do admit the apple watch is better than the galaxy watch. i rock the fold 4, the Ultra is way to big for me.

I'm an Apple user mainly for their ECO system. I have the 15 Pro Max and love that is noticeably lighter than my 14 Pro Max. Great job, Shane. Go Eagles and Phillies. Noticed where you were filming. I live 35 miles northwest of Philly, my whole life. 🙂

Yes but samsung eco system is no less then an iPhone....iphone is only for video and eco....but samsung is complete all-rounder

I never have touched the new iphone i wanna see wassup but from a on paper stand point you gotta go s23ultra imagine if these were cars. Wouldnt you want more features rather then just a look? We got a pen, a better camera, better screen, better battery's (only off the strength of the fact we can charge faster, they last roughly the same time.) Yall have better apps and emojis and a feeling of inclusivity thats 2nd to none, also i dont personally think so but it seems yall have the slightly better ecosystem. Sooooooo yea what you want???

Nothing can beat the iPhone. Definitely phone of the year.
