It is also great if you have one phone for personal and work. By setting up your work email in the secure folder, your company's admin capabilities only affect the secure folder portion. Or At least that's how it used to work. The secure folder is essentially a partition of your main hard drive.

I use the secure folder for all of my banking apps. That way if I set my phone down. People can't access my money. Even tho banking apps are already secure.

Banking apps (which need to send an SMS for verification) seem to have stopped working within the secure folder in One Ui 6.1 🤔 This makes me rethink my use case of secure folder.

I've been using secure folder since my S9+. That & samsung dex are the two main reasons I will never switch to another android OS device

Agreed! I only use Samsung "S" series phones for the added KNOX security and the secure folder option!

Also If you add secure folder to your quick panel, you can toggle it on/off from there. If it's toggled off, the icon wont show up in your apps folder until you toggle it back on

Great video! I have used Samsung phones forever and used the "secure folder" option ALWAYS! This is FAR superior to Googles attempt in every way plus Samsung has KNOX which is yet another security layer to keep your data private and safe with S series phones. As you mentioned, the "secure folder" on Samsung CAN be transferred to a "new" phone without a hitch and is just awesome. It can also be backed up using the "smart switch" app and transfers EVERYTHING. I have several apps in the Samsung secure folder only as it just adds extra security and for me ONLY access when using a VPN for yet another layer of added privacy against hackers and malicious attempts! In todays times you have to PROTECT sensitive data and Samsung's Secure folder option is about the best you can get without installing other options.

Can I ask if how the notification works for google then? Will it show when the private space is unlocked and hidden when its locked for the apps or either unlocked or locked does it show it? And does it mean we can also log in to a separate google account in private space like in the Samsung's?

Most of these features were already in my Honor 8. I don't understand what took Samsung and Google so long to introduce these features. I had to download 3rd party apps when I switched over to Pixel 2 years ago.

Tried to set up googles private space, and it wiped my home screen of all pre existing folders and gave me a default home screen. Tried to do it twice just in case it was me, but same result. May be its just not mature enough yet. But I gave up on private space.

It's not because 'secure space' is only 7 ish days old, it's because it's Google. Samsung and Google are both large corporations, it's I trust Google less than Samsung, which isn't saying much from my point of view. Online privacy in this day and age, yeah sure.

The fact that you can't move photos from the main gallery to Private Space is absolutely ridiculous. So if you have a photo taken 3 years ago and want to hide it, there's essentially no way of doing so? That's literally one of the main use cases of Secure Folder and it's not even possible with Google's implementation. No thanks, I'm sticking with Samsung and Secure Folder. In terms of software, Samsung is just in a completely different league compared to Google.
