QLED has dual back lights to help out with the colors and brightness that’s need on HDR content. Keep in mouth at 1000 nits is standard and even the OLED in this range will not touch that but it will be better than most.

Thanks for making this video. Greatly appreciate the effort you did to compare the two. I bought the 70" AU8000. I feel for its price, it is a good model with good color and video production which I can easily live with. There will always be differences on generated test patterns. What ultimately matters is the variety of images that I view and I ask myself if I'm able to live with this or not. And u can happily to say that I can, Happily

Interestingly the warmer looking TV is what most film industries/artists intend their films to be viewed in. Colour and white levels are more accurate with a warmer panel. Most OLED and QLED TVs often have recommendation to change colour tones to warm or expert (even more warm). Dolby vision presets for example always gives the picture a warmer tone, you'll realize it makes the film more life like rather than artificially pretty.

@@robbyRob740 The side-by-side images in Tech Steve's video, plus his comment multiple times that if you have the money the q60a is the better set. The comments about the brightness and trueness of color. The q60a also has some more advanced features on the interface. I also thought about it this way: a TV lasts 10 years, and you watch it on average 3 hours a day (your mileage may differ) that's about 11,000 hours of total viewing time. So the $280 is an additional $28 per year, or about 2.5 cents per viewing hour. Adding all that up it seemed worth it to me to play it safe and just shell out a few more bucks.

I found this very helpful. I have decided to go with the AU8000 which I have purchased. Being a pensioner and NOT a gamer there is no need for additional specs. TV used for entertainment only and I use a Amazon Fire Stick 4K plus in preference to tv apps. Linked up to a Yamaha sound bar with additional sub woofer. Set up suits and is %100 better than my old Samsung tv which I have had for over 10 years. Hopefully this one will last as long. Only thing Samsung should include is programme sort for tv channels.

Tech Steve, I’m trying to decide between Samsung 75” TU7000, Au8000 or Q60A QLED from Costco for $850, $950 or $1,150. I am a value oriented customer and not into video gaming. Just an average user- 1080 cable for sports, online subscriptions Netflix, Hulu, prime, you tube and occasionally Movies from PS4. they are all within my budget range, but if I am not going to use all the extra benefits from Q60 I would rather save my money. But if the TU7000 and AU 8000 will be obsolete a lot sooner than Q60, I might as well pay that $300 extra now. In your expert opinion which one should I get? They are all on sale right now before 2022 models come out. Also, should I wait for another month or so until 2022 models come out for bigger sales on these 2021 models? Thank you!

Thanks for the info. These are the exact 2 we were looking at in Best Buy. To our eyes, the AU8000 looked great. The Q series was super bright and way too detailed... at least for us. It almost hurt our eyes. Q series is definitely crisp and bright, but the colors were way too much. They didn't look natural to us. AU8000 with surround sound, we're good! Thanks.

Was not really shown in the video, connecting a windows 10 PC to these TVs is pretty easy through the 'Notifications' pop up (located right of the clock on the start menu) then press Connect. Once the TV is found and selected on the computer you will need to allow access on the TV for it to connect. But it does a perfect job of mirroring via Wifi. No HDMI required, which is great for the Surface Pro as you need an extra connector to go from USB-C to HDMI.
