I don't understand why Samsung decides to make Good Lock a separate app instead of just Integrating it into One UI.

It helps them keep the settings simpler and more organised. Not everyone needs all the customisation GL offers. Even in GL, there are different apps for different customisations.

Always loved horizontal scroll app drawer, just makes more sense to have pages left and right

​@flicka25 the app organization is much better when it's vertical. ITS like reading a list. You get so used to the location of your apps as you scroll that you don't even have to think about it. With the horizontal app drawer it's scattered. I rarely ever use it without the app finder and it's annoying. It's just a couple of extra seconds but it's still an inconvenience to me

@tavonmccall1155 uhhh. I never liked it. I prefer horizontal LR. Because scrolling sometimes makes me forget how far that app is to which I need to scroll to (then I'm continually scroll slowly up and down to search where that app is located. With pages, I easily remember the 3rd or 4th page this or that icon...(the search range is shorter this way because it's one page at a time instead of a whole list)

Nice, can really say I actually miss one ui after having an iPhone for a year now

I prefer the horizontal scrolling 100% , I have too many apps and I remember in wich page is every app so it's muchle memory to find them but on 1 vertical list it's like a big bag full of apps and no segments.. u know the horizontal one is easier because I remember in wich page/ segment is an app..

@Ajay-vm5kz because they are biased and they tried horizontal for 2 days wich isn't enough to get used to a new workflow then they get frustrated and use a launcher with vertical and say ohh horizontal is hard to use.. They don't think what's more practical then try to get used to it , instead they just do what they feel. That's also the reason Samsungs one hand operation plus app will never get enough appreciation and functionality like micro gesture app offers will be late for phone manufacturers to built in their os I use both , people say its complicated but it only sounds complicated, give It a week and it's so much easy to use the whole phone the whole navigation changes..

You just go alphabetically vertically. Pretty fast and easy. If you got a T named app, one flick to the bottom gets you there. Opposed to flicking pages 5 or 6 times, and it doesn't loop back to the first page.

They should also bring back the opinion to turn off stories in the gallery app. And the ability to uninstall ALL preninstalled apps. At least on premium devices. When you pay more than 1000€ for the phone, you should be able to get rid of the apps you don't want on your phone.

They need to bring up Fingerprint settings like change Design, change color and also hide on Lock screen and yet working...

Most useful features of oxygen OS 14 File dock wish Samsung bring in oneui7. 😮

I used to have the vertical app drawer because i had been using Nova Launcher on my old Galaxy A10s since One UI was just too laggy. I tried using the Goodlock Vertical App drawer when i got my S23 but didnt like it cuz it wasnt that good, went back to Nova Launcher 🙃

Android 14 took my favourite disable recycle bin option, come on Samsung bring the feature back.

actually you can already do this in good lock. and it also shows what it calls priority apps in the top.

having an S10e, i still have that option in my Good Lock. But i dont use it. Not because i prefer horizontal. But because of the stupid frequent apps section. It makes it look so messy

They need to integrated good lock in serrings

I also wish that they fix the pop-up notification banners not showing up under the status bar. When I'm using an app for example Twitter X I want to be able to see the pop-up notifications banners showing for when I receive an email or for when I get a text etc.

The One UI 6.1 update on my s23 ultra has just downgraded my phone and the glitches and snappy switching apps and using apps, this update gave so many bugs that it is a nightmare to use the phone now! 😓

@@TechTalkTV i cleared the cache and did factory reset... Nothing works anymore for it... It's just heartbreaking to see such a great phone get ruined because some dumb software update! I tried to get samsung as well and alot of s23 ultra users have posted it on forum but they say samsung might fix it with another update or patch but right now it is just not worth using the phone anymore! 😓

OneUI 5.1 was in every way perfect for me. Linear animations do nothing to my experience and they were smooth, not a single stutter. And don't get me started on how they butchered the action centre. Overall downgrade for me but the AI stuff plus circle to search are pretty cool tbh.

Factory reset the phone and it'll cure your problem.

Horizontal app drawer all the way. I keep specific apps at specific places, therefore, it's easier to find them. I don't want to use the search bar to look for an app

Had to watch the video in slow motion and search the play store XD But if anyone else is wondering it's Flow KWGT which builds upon KWGT Pro

I found it that similar looking objects really mess with the searching. I circled an over sholder baby bottle holder as a joke for my wife on a video, but it thought it was headphones 😅. It could not identify the product. But it did look like headphones.

This isn't limited to Samsung, but it seems like we aren't really getting new features these days. Companies take features away and then bring them back.

Would samsung allow to enabled the flash in ultrawide mode? Thanks for answering

I don't think they would enable that

Wonderland live wallpaper resolution should support up to 1440p, and there should should be an option to change phone themes automatically using modes and routines. Also, bring back amoled cinema mode. Also, sort out AOD bug. AOD turns on by itself when I plug my phone to charge.

Will s series get this update

Bring back costumizable AOD and that particular gesture navigation

They should make the quick panel more one hand friendly like it used to be. Redesign but more one handed.

Samsungs power in a Pixel would be the ultimate phone. Android 15 Beta1 is actually smoother than my 24U on UI 6.1

You used to costumize folders in ine ui5. Now you can only change the grid and make it popup(which is far better than the regular) but you can't change the rest. Most important for me: the backround color. It was soo neat to be able to make everything the same color and even tho is niche,is nice and i want it back

The vertical option, including customising of icons, for example to monochrome icons, we use a different launcher. For example nova launcher, and it's much much better the the one ui launcher. Maybe Samsung realised that we, Samsung customers, are using 3rd party apps more, than Samsung ones. Hope that makes sense 😂

After last update... i can't drag my video to a certain part of video playing...it always back to beginning 😢 every single time...force me to watch entire video from galery

It's easier to make folders and organise apps when it's horizontal swipe. Currently my phone only have one page with organised folder. And i have 130+ apps in that single page.

Local Quick Share is a joke. Sharing a 6GB file with someone else takes over 10 minutes. There should be a faster way to wirelessly transfer large files LOCALLY between Android devices.

I use Nova launcher and scrolling both directions has always been available so nothing new here for that but atleast samsung is bringing it back

They removed the navigation gestures as well with the 6.1 update. The ones that correspond to the buttons at the bottom no longer exist. Instead now the gestures are the default Android ones from the sides which are annoying

The Good Lock vertical layout was stupid anyways, two rows were used for "suggested apps" all the time, even if you scrolled down, that was just stupid.

Hopefully Vertical App Drawer, a feature that other android devices already have from many years

I mean, I use vertical scrolling now in split screen. It's no different than left or right. 😂 But hey, to each there own.

Remove bloatware 😐. Give us full performance and revamp the game mode. Improve the cooling system and add pixel refresher to device care. Bring back the IR blaster and the headphone jack SD card and charging speeds for Christ sake, plus the option to change the charging animation and put the god damn charger in the god damn box.

I REALLY wish they would create a Priority Bluetooth Device toggle so my car would stop stealing my phone calls from my Bluetooth headset. It's really annoying to STILL have the "Battle of the Bluetooth" in 2024!

There is no native app lock, instead there is an app called Samsung secure folder (only mid-rangers and flagship devices) where you can secure and lock files and apps. The apps and files will be a separate version like a dual app accessible only through the secure folder app

How is it so hard to implement vertical scrolling app drawer? I just use Nova but come on!! S23 we could force 120hz refresh, not adaptive, ALWAYS 120!. Now we cant bc reasons... Or how about being able to saturate the screen color further? They give you a slider that barely increases it. Samsung has the best equipment but then they lock it up and limit it... Itta make a me so sad :(

Not a chance. Horizontal is the easiest way. Vertical usually means you lose access to folders etc. and I don't want to look up 200 apps that way. It makes the app list pointless. The home page is then cluttered or filled with apps or folders and once again, you are stuch with horizontal. Vanilla android's way of doing apps is the dumbest thing on the planet. Apple does it better than then, and that says a lot. Vertical app list is stupid as I already said. You are then stuck with apps on your home screen, but you have to move them 1 by 1 and that takes forever, can't have them in alphabetical order, you are stuck with 3x3 grid too. So you basically have your apps in two places and makes the app drawer useless if you have more than like 50 apps. Samsung gives you the option - app drawer mode or no app drawer at all. If Samsung removes the option and defaults us at vertical, I'm just going back to a basic phone :D

Except, no, they DIDN'T listen. That feature existed in Home Up when we had OneUI 5. They removed it in OneUI 6. If they HAD listened, they'd simply put it back in Home Up. So, no , this is a fail as far as I'm concerned.
