Thank you for honest review! I visited a local store, and found out my maximum resolution I'd be pleased with is 48 inches. 55 is huge for work on a desktop

I think the Ark is a perfect blend between a tv and monitor. Console gamers who are used to playing on a big display have that option and PC players that like a smaller screen get that. The Ark second gen fixes all the pip complaints the 2022 model had.

I work since 4 years with a 55 dell and I’m happy with it. Of course I’m not right in front of it, it needs some space between you and the display.

Thanks for the review! One neat feature about the monitor is that you can resize the screen size to 27" or 32". Granted you're wasting a bunch of screen real estate, but as someone who would love it for gaming it could be a worthwhile compromise. What did you think of the PPI (pixels-per-inch)? Btw, your son is a beast at Fortnite 😂

I feel like so many people kind of review these monitor/tvs incorrectly. I understand that you want to use it as a monitor, and the curve is supposed to allow you to do so effectively.... but honestly in my experience the best way to use something like a 55inch monitor is mounting if you can and backing it up a little bit from your eye balls. one of the reasons why curved tv's went away was because they were terrible for the most part lol... Especially in larger formats. I have been using the C1 55" for about a year now and life got so much better once I made those little tweaks and stopped tried to use it like a conventional monitor display. But i enjoyed your vid.

I hear you. To properly utilize a display tgis large you definitely need to change your environment and that was some thing I just didn’t have the room to do as I mentioned, when I said that I would need a deeper desk.

A triple setup of these for flight simming would be fantastic! I'd love it if Samsung or LG would make a 55" curved OLED monitor for a triple monitor dedicated simming setup (but can you say expensive). It wouldn't need the vertical rotation, as that seems to be more of a gee whiz selling feature than a practical use feature. Having said all that, a smaller version, say using the LG 48" OLED would (I think) be the sweet spot size for many simmers/gamers, as 55" is overwhelming (as you point out). I'm currently using the LG 42 Flex, which is fantastic, but it's left me craving for a slightly larger size...

How do you connect your M1 Mac with the ARK, I’m having issues connecting it I know I can mirror the screen but I don’t want that rather connect it directly with HDMI but than either I have to use a docking station or have a Apple hdmi to thunderbolt connector that requires usb-c power cable as well is there another way that you found more convenient?

For gaming (gamer here) I utilize the wheel controller to adjust the screen size for me. In a game like fortnite, i shrink it down some to probably 38" with the cool glass background. looks amazing. for something where im not being competitive like Harry Potter I blow it up to full size for that incredible emersion.

What’s text like, I’m worried that at 80/90 ppi it. Text would look pixelated. I’m looking at the ark as it been heavily discounted and for my user case i would sue it mainly for ms word, safari, Evernote, rstudio, and reading. I currently have a triple monitor setup ie iMac 2019 27” and then two addition 4k monitors, i would like to use this to as single monitor for when i upgrade to a Mac Studio, with possible an 8k 27” monitor in portrait for reading docs

@@nice2care I was disappointed. The image looks blurry cause you’re so close. In vertical mode you lose high refresh rate and at 3 27 inches each image is 1080p. You still have to use apps to populate the other screens. No Picture in Picture. I got it on release and I don’t think they updated. Returning it was very difficult to do by yourself. But keep the packaging. Try it out! It may be better for you. But the 16:9 aspect ratio doesn’t cut it for my. I got my money back and went back to a super ultra wide.

@@jeradhilltech I received one as a gift recently. If you were sitting maybe a foot or so back, you would not need to move your head at all. It perfectly encompasses my line of sight with the deeply curved edges. Not a great productivity monitor but it wasn’t meant for that given its “Gaming” moniker. On that front, it’s a gaming and media powerhouse. I really don’t think the perspective in your review did it justice. However, the vertical view is pretty useless.

@@sweetyd Does it matter his age if it's 40 or 50? even if he was 35, I don't care. Point is, multitasking is taking over the world. This is literally why we don't have good movies or tv shows anymore, because people are watching it while doing something else. And I'm not even talking about two monitors, we are talking 3 maybe even 4 as well as using your phone. I am millenial myself and struggle with multitasking with more than 2 outputs, but I do have a daughter and see the genz gamers, and yes, they do multitask. So that's all I mean, he literally gave it a bad review because he himself can't multitask. All I mean is, nothing wrong with that but don't call it an "objective review". Samsungs websites says this 55in mess of a screen, got an average USER score of 3.9 out of 5. But, when you actually look at those reviews, you will quickly notice ALL the 5 star reviews are what they call 'incentivized' reviews! That simple means the reviewers received a financial reward or free product (usually the very item they reviewed!). This is awful bias, unethical, and is not representative of the REAL USER reviews on this screen. A quick check of the non- incentivized reviews, reveals a total of 20 people actually gave it a total of 46 stars, which represents a REAL score of 2.3 and NOT 3.9! Samsung are using this disgraceful and unethical 'incentivized' reviews bias to make their products look better than they actually are. Shame on them for that alone. This screen is a bloated mish mash of ideas, non of which are ideal, and all together they create a bloated overpriced mess, an unusable product ,which is not really ideal for any of the solutions it claims it offers. BUT wait..it does tilt! haha! That one stupid feature is what all the 'paid for' youtube reviews (adverts!) pretended was some amazing cool feature......its useless and pointless and a gimmick. Anyway.... Nice review and thumbs up, cheers.

@@PixelatedExistence The monitor goes on every time I start my computer and shuts off every time I turn off my computer. For me, it acts just like my other monitors in that regards. I also thought it would annoy me but I thought I would need to use the remote to turn it on and off, which I do not. Other than that, paired with a 4090, 165HZ, the monitor is what you would expect, a big 55" curved monitor that is responsive and great for gaming. I just worte an article saying this is the greatest game setup you could have because the monitor allows you to get a unique experience. In FPS games, I see so much more because I am forced to increase the FOV, making my viewable area much larger, seeing more stuff in the screen like a wide screen monitor. Since the monitor is so large, you can really zoom out or increase the FOV giving you a huge viewable area. Its worth it if you want a big monitor, but make sure your video card supports 165HZ with this. You also need to make sure the bottom of the monitor sits flush with your desk to make sure you are viewing slightly above center when looking at it.
