I tried a USB stick on my RN5 and 7 and the difference when compared to the BT is astounding. Try it for yourself. Use a downloaded song and play via BT on your phone, BT volume on phone at MAX, volume on RN 24 or so, EQ set to standard. Then replicate with the same downloaded song played using the USB input, vol. 24, EQ standard. Far louder, still very clear, perhaps more so, bass response increased. I have done a number of comparisons, with volume at MAX, with EQ set to BASS. This highlights the ineptitude of the BT specification they went with on this lineup. I'm certain they used 4.0 or 4.2 although I can't definitive say as I cannot find the version listed anywhere. Also, since I have 2 of the speakers I can take advantage of "twin mode". The speakers don't play in the TWS mode that they do on BT 5.0 ( true wireless stereo, obv. w/ left and right speaker) rather they both play at the same time. They can only do this in BT mode so any other playback mode is out of the question. The light show is also not synced up and the xBOOM app doesn't even recognize when 'twin mode' is active so there in lies another challenge. These are all minor flaws I realize and they are only an issue if that particular mode is needed to be used. They do add up, however.

Also, do you know if a 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter could be used to plug into the mic or guitar inputs in order to use it as a more traditional aux with a phone for example?

Yep direct connect always sounds better. That said though the bluetooth 5.1 connection is pretty clear.

So Rob, thanks for your review. I wasn't even considering the LG as I was probably unaware of its existence in my place. I had tried the Samsung ones both big and small at the outlets and they were underwhelming. Unless you go upto 35 on volume dial, you can barely hear anything and much smaller speakers were overpowering them. I got the RN7 based on your inputs and I must say great recommendation. Just today i was listening to Serenade No. 13 by Mozart via Bluetooth and it does a great job at even a low volume of 14. Thanks again🙏

If I had to guess Id say compared to the 75, the 75 is 30% louder, so around 650 compared to the 75's 1000.

75 is much louder, but for a serious dj I'd get a PA speaker and they're generally much cheaper.

I can’t lie, The LG won. But the Samsung is loud as well because my neighbors have one, and you can hear it through the wall it shakes the wall!

Probably the lg rn7 if you don't need a battery.

I think this comparison is unfair. The T50 is in the same category as the RN5, as is Panasonic's Tmax10! The fair comparison would be the RN7 with the T70. You compared the speakers by price and not by RMS power. LG does not say the power of the RN7, which is certainly more powerful than the T50. In Brazil where I live the T50 is called T55, but it's the same thing and it's costing in the same price range as LG's RN5.

When I did the test the t50 was 500 dollars and the t70 was 700, thank god they lowered the prices. Neither was worth the money, I tested the rn5 it woulda beat the t50 for sure. The t50 is just not loud enough.

The real question is how long will the rn7 speaker fabric last with that much amplitude to and hertz compare to the Samsung?

I still have my ok75 and its 2.5 years old, sounds as good as the day I bought it. Lg does a great job on their audio equipment and when they work with Meridian they do an awesome job.

On all the tower speakers the 40, 50 and 70 you need to reboot the minute you get it home and I own a T-40 is the bass button even on while you use the Samsung these are bi-directional speakers, the Samsung brand you almost need two to get the full effect that's what bi-directional speakers are, not buying it, those Samsungs are a better product than LG, great video and thank you for posting man

@Robs reviews and demos JBL actually puts out a decent speaker, I listen to old school hard rock and metal so samsung is/are good speakers, the downfall is they almost need a bass button and or and equalizer not sure how they get away with claiming 300 watts on the T'40 maybe 80-100 watts looking into that one anyway yep the T-70 is still pretty spendy like I mentioned you almost need two for maximum effect thanks for sharing im looking at some klipsch powered they are the model I'm looking at around 499.00 what do you think of klipsch as far as I know they are an excellent product

@@Robsreviewsanddemos nice, exactly on the party speakers, a childhood friend has some carver and old phase linear that's top of the line, well it's carver now and had been for decades, Macintosh has great stereo (Home) stereos but if I had 40,000 grand to spend I would go with Carver, anyway the powered speakers are a little newer to me, so I have some experimenting to do, I'm 57 and I still enjoy great soubding music, I will listen to music until I'm unable to, know what I mean,cool thanks for the feedback and again good review

The rn7 does not go on full volume with just your phone controls, try to put it on blast on your phone then you have to use the included remote to get it to go to full volume idk why it does that but yeah

Don't bother with the Sony, the lg is way better. The only thing nicer on the sony is the lighting.

Yeah I should not have gotten the mx-t50. I like it and it has some nice bass on it but I want something louder and with a bigger boom. I want something that I I have that thing all the way up my neighbors are gonna know I'm partying lol. God I wish the lg ok series was still being sold

Depends on what you'll be using it for. So if you want something pretty for your living room the Samsungs are nice. I wouldn't buy the T50, it's way too expensive for what you get. So really it's between the RN7 and the t70. If you want Karaoke, great sound the RN7 is the way to go. The Lg has way more features and better sound control, they're just not as pretty. Plus they are 200 bucks cheaper. The T70 is a little expensive I think, but if you plan on adding a second speaker the Samsung is the way to go because they are stereo when paired with a second. The T70 is also much louder. I tell everyone, depends how you will use it, where you will use it and how much you want to spend.

If you buy LG On5 or 7 instead of RN5 /7 it has a cd player built in. No need to worry about cables etc. Sound quality from cd (not mp3) is much better.

Sorry, the Panasonics are not available in the U.S. I would stay away from the T50, it stinks. Get the jbl 310, it's great.

If you say so, It's not like I was in the room with them or anything. The new LG models are as clear as JBL, this battle wasn't even a contest. The T50 is WAAAAAY over priced, the only thing it had over the rn7 was style, it loses on clarity, features, Bass and volume. This was no contest at all. I know you probably are a Samsung fan and I like Samsung too, but I will NEVER be dishonest with my viewers. Samsung speakers are not worth the retail price. I never bought anything lg until I started this channel, LG has made a believer out of me, especially their speaker line up.

YES, get the rn7. The Mids make a huge difference on the sound quality. Clarity they are equal, but overall quality the mids make a big difference, Also the rn7 is probably 30 to 40% louder

no it's definitely louder, you can barely hear the Samsung over the lg. It's just more powerful, ugly as hell though.

I went to the store and did the same thing.. and the LG bass was way better and sounded super clear .. this video is playing instrumentals so you cant hear how fuzzy the xboom is to the LG..

My Lg had no fuzz at all, unless it was an old song or the standard Bluetooth noise you get. The LG sounded as good or better than the Samsung and has much more power.

If you can get the ok75 I'd go for that. The rn7 has better sound quality, but that's it. They have the same features, but the 75 is way louder and has those killer strobe lights. Sorry the microphone is directly between the speakers, just as if you were listening to them. The T50 is terrible, it's not loud enough at all. The T70 is much better but the 50 is a waste of money. I don't lie to my audience. Every person who bought one that I have spoke with was very unhappy. Sorry if you're a Samsung fan. If you want dishonest reviews go elsewhere.

It really depends on your budget and where you live. Since Lg discontinued the ok series, the JBL Partybox1000 is probably the best out there. That's 1200 bucks though. There are a few Lg ok99's left out there and they by far blow away everything else in the U.S.. Some countries have the lg OL100 available and that is even better than the ok99. In the 500 dollar category, the LG rn7 is the best if you don't need a battery, the JBL Partybox 300 is the best if you require a battery. In S. America and Europe LG has the ON9 which has two 8 inch woofers, but I have heard the sound suffers from lack of mids.

I've had my ok75 for 2 years now, probably has 80 hours on it, no issues yet. The diodes have lost some of their color saturation but otherwise it works fine.

LG RN7 and RN5 is a bit better compare to T50. However, there is no Aux\audio port for the LG. Why?

I don't know why they did away with it. Kinda sucks. The new Bluetooth connection works very well though, it's not noisy at all so that may be why.

Ironically, I thought the Samsung looked a bit plain. I was much more impressed with the design of the the LG. I guess that's an "eye of the beholder" thing. But, I agree that the sound is better, and a bit louder.

You're obviously a Samsung fan. Sorry brother but it just isn't true, I love my tv, but their audio products are lacking and kind of overpriced. The only way I'd buy the t70 is if it's under 500 bucks and I would NEVER buy the t50, it's just weak for the price, very weak.

Im disappointed in samsungs new towers. I got there twin towers like came out about 5 years ago and they were $200 and they are loud and hard bass

Interesting, the larger one is pretty loud but the bass could be much better for the price. Decent speakers though. Nothing wrong with them, they just don't quite hit the dollar mark for me and what I like about a speaker. I get that not everyone likes what I like, all I can do is share the info and let y'all decide. It's all about you, the viewer. I just recently bought the Samsung sound+ soundbar with the Samsung sound+ 10in subwoofer, very heavy deep bass. But if you want to know something I did learn a while ago. 10in+ subwoofers are good for only movies and for loud heavy party music. I do think this soundbar and 10in subwoofer for the soundbar is great I use it more then all my speakers now. Price range around $950 worth the price in my opinion

@@heches4935 40 is max, with your phone you can only get to 25 then you need the remote, it's a pain. Use settings that sound best to you.

Cuando salió ese Samsung costaba 500 dólares, el LG tenía el mismo precio y muchísimo mejor. Obviamente eres fanático de Samsung, me alegro de que no pruebes los parlantes porque tu parcialidad haría que tus reseñas fueran inútiles. Mantengo mis propios prejuicios fuera de mis reseñas, pregúntale a cualquiera de mis suscriptores. Doy críticas honestas, critico las marcas que amo y elogio las que no amo si se lo merecen. Desde entonces, Samsung ha bajado el precio y ahora el altavoz tiene un mejor valor, de ninguna manera pagaría 500 dólares por ese altavoz. Ahora que bajaron los precios en los modelos Giga, valen más la pena, pero no los compraría, tienen un woofer de baja potencia, al menos lo tenían cuando los probé. Me encanta mi tableta y televisor Samsung, pero sus parlantes son de rango medio en cuanto a calidad de sonido.

Click Bait dude you comparing the biggest LG to the Medium Samsung... Compare it to to a 70 not a 50... That’s like comparing a BMW 7 series to a Mercedes E class...

Yeah they are both the medium models. So sorry to say but Samsung got blown out of the water. Used to have the Samsung and now I have just the rn5 and I'd even say that the rn5 is better than the Samsung T-50

The rn7 is not 1000 watts. The ok75 claimed 1000 watts the rn7 is probably 40% quieter and the samsung is half of that.

Lg wins ...but the price... Samsung is the real winner

Sí, gran parte de eso son los costos de envío a los EE. UU. De cualquier manera, el T50 apesta, no desperdicie dinero en él.

@@anyelakrupp8951 Hola, En ese rango de precios, el rn7 es el mejor sin batería. Si desea una batería, el JBL Partybox 310 es mejor seguido por el Ultimate Ears Hyperboom.

Es wea de mirar el parlante LG rn7 sonido full misma dirección hacia el micrófono y Samsung t50 tira sonido para todas las direcciones, aparte el LG rn7 es horriblemente feo en una sala apesta su apariencia, en cambio Samsung t50 es más armonioso en un ambiente tranquilo como living, prefiero mil veces el Samsung a mi gusto personal.

El Samsung se ve bien, pero eso es realmente lo único que tiene. En ese rango de precios, es probablemente uno de los peores altavoces que he probado. Aunque se ve bien.

@@Robsreviewsanddemos bueno en gustos colores, pero compre el rn7 y lo devolví porque es realmente horrible tiene buen sonido pero para mi gusto prefiero el Samsung mil veces,aparte en donde vivo no es mucha la diferencia en dinero con t50, para mi que escucho en una sala pequeña Samsung t50 me vasta y me sobra aparte su apariencia pasa desapercibido aparte a mi el sonido me encanta,en mi opinión al haber escuchado los dos parlantes no le veo mucha la diferencia tampoco 🤷‍♂️✌️

That RN7 is NOT 1000 watts. They are the same price so they are comparable. Sorry if you didn't like the outcome.

Если вы говорите о LG, я считаю, что вы ошибаетесь. У LG, как и у jbl, есть внешний пластиковый слой для эстетики, но корпус деревянный. Модели OK сделаны из дерева, и я считаю, что модели RN такие же.

The LG has cleary clear mids, but what a ugly and so artificial mids... The most of you guys, has a not good ear. There's no brilliance, is definitely not good.

@@Robsreviewsanddemos Unnecessary to say "sorry". I'm not a Samsung fanboy just because I didn't like the LG sounding, this is a wrong and pitiable thought by you. I don't need to say that the Samsung tower sounds shy and bad too, this is clear in the video, but the must of you are praising the mids of LG as if it were heaven, but it doesn't sound natural, is not flat, is tuned wrong and is purely BAD for me and MY ears used to hear Yamaha in my studio, Harman/Kardon and Bowers and Wilkins systems in my house. I don't even know how the KZread suggested this video to me.

@@GODSONDJ you came off like an Samsung fanboy and arrogant too. Now though I can see I was wrong, you're way more arrogant in this message. The newer models of lg have darn near perfect clarity. The jbl's have perfect clarity as well. I also have bowers at the house and most people who watch my reviews and have the speakers agree with my sound reviews. I think maybe you just don't have the best ear or maybe it's my recording in this video. What the real issue is and lets face it, is you tried to do some videos and haven't been very successful yet, just keep working at it and be nice.

I think this really sounded arrogant. I think that the fanboy here is you, that just not accepted my thoughts and opinions about their mids and about the people who thinks that just because the mids is "clear", it's natural and good.
