    It was the only good FE, Micro SD and a good SoC(only if you count the Snapdragon 865 as the Exynos 990 was probably one of the worst if not the worst high end Exynos ever released, even the midrange Exynos 980 of the same year could do better than the Exynos 990) I unfortunately own an Exynos S20 FE

    @@astroidexadam5976 Same here, i also owned an Exynos variant. Its such so much inferior than the Snapdragon version that i feel like being ripped off by Samsung, they dont respect their customers enough that they gave us a dogshit chipset that overheats way too easily, thus the battery life is the worse i've ever used on a mobile device ( like 4 to 5 hours maxed on medium and lightly usage). Had to switched to the s22 with Snapdragon later and i dont think i would every buy a phone that use shitty Exynos ever again.

No one who’s even relatively well versed in tech would ever want to buy this phone. I’d honestly buy a Samsung A35 5g over this S23 FE and the A series phones aren’t known for overall performance. Here in my country it's better if i go with a contracyand it's a little bit more expensive than the A55 whereas the A35 and A55 are very overpriced. So spending a little more for the S23 fe makes more sense imo. It also seems to be the most well rounded phone for my uses and gives me all the things that i want from the S24 without spending as much for it. It's essentially the budget/entry flagship and I'm happy with that.

    There's one MASSIVE dealbreaker for me: the S23 FE has no physical proximity sensor. It uses virtual proximity sensing like it does on its cheap A series devices. This means the phone can't tell when it's actually at your ear, or in your pocket, or when it's just in a dark room and not your pocket. This is why my S20 FE would incessantly turn on in my pocket, or freak out when using it in a dark room. But thing is, proximity sensors aren't expensive to put in at all. Virtually every other cheap phone besides Samsung's has physical proximity sensors. They had proximity sensors in their older A50 and A70 phones from 2019. It makes no sense.

  • @jamesw2831
    @jamesw283128 күн бұрын

    The S23 FE should have come with a SD 8+ Gen 1 at the lowest and an SD 8 Gen 2 proper. The FE series should not have dropped microSD card support. The FE should have had a consistent release schedule instead of a "will they, won't they" release schedule. And with the A series, people are going to just go for an A series phone. The A55 still works on GSM carriers so fans of the A series will import it. Samsung messed this up. The phone is overpriced for what you get. On Samsung's website, the FE costs $690 for the 256GB option. There's a OnePlus 12R with a SD 8 Gen 2 for $529 for the 256GB option on OnePlus' website. If Samsung wants this to sell, drop the price down to $500 for 256GB option and offer a trade in to further reduce cost. Samsung killed the FE line when it didn't have to. S series sales are correctly sluggish because the YOY proposition is not strong. So that is why the A series is more popular.

    The S23 FE is just a rebranded A74, which never came out. Plus the SD 8 Gen 1 (and the Exynos equivalent here in the EU) has horrible battery life, resulting in less screen-on-time than the base S23 despite a much larger battery in the FE. Because of that I just went for a base S23 256GB. I don't even mind the bezels much tbh, I probably would've gotten it if it had the SD8+ Gen 1 with the fixed thermals and battery drain issues instead.

I was cross shopping it at the time with the A54 and the Nothing Phone 2 (this was a bit more expensive) and chose the S23 FE at the end mainly cuz of the camera and the little extra bells and whistles that came along with it (wireless charging, IP68 ingress protection, long software support policy) The Exynos variant I got is more than enough for 99% of what I do, the bezels aren't a deal breaker and you barely notice them after a while + in my country there are fantastic deals and discounts on the phone nowadays that make it more attractive than the newly released A55 or the previous gen A54

    I actually think one of the main reasons why companies in general are worried about sales is that people is now realizing that they actually don’t need to renew their phone every single year because since like 2020 with the 5G Flagships you actually don’t need a super powerful processors or a super HDR 4K 8K 3600X Zoom whatever camera, because phones are just at their peak My Lastt phone is an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I could just replace the battery and I would be OK with that… like I don’t need Dynamic Island I don’t need AI I don’t need a better camera that the one I have on my phone so it just does not make sense for me to spend an extra thousand dollars in a phone that I would not notice any special change You could easily buy an S21 and you would be happy or an iPhone 12 and you would be Happy So they really need to bring up something that’s really impacts on people or has like a life-changing feature for us to really Feel The Need to Upgrade I preferred to renew my iPad and my Apple Watch instead of my iPhone because I think that I don’t need it

They're offering her deals to upgrade but she picked the older model to get upgradeable storage and the stereo jack. She's sticking with it until it dies. So i can see a few reasons not to move to an S23 FE.
