Peter, connect the Satellite set-top box to the Samsung soundbar with a Digital Optical / Toslink cable (sold separately) or use the included analog audio cable. Make a 2nd connection this time between the Satellite Set-top box and your TV using an HDMI wire. These two connections will permit you to hear the audio on both the soundbar and TV. Yes plus can probably buy a replacement RCA remote at a local Big Box retailer for under $10. You would simply need to set the remote to use Samsung codes which will be included in the instructions. If you do not buy a replacement remote the controls for the soundbar are built into the soundbar.

hey a friend gave me the subwoofer but he had no soundbar can i still connect it to something else

We actually have the F450 and are having trouble with the subwoofer. The sound bar works fine and the subwoofer did for a couple of days. Now the blue wi fi light is on the subwoofer, but I assume what is the power / stand by button on the subwoofer is not lighting up and the subwoofer is not working. Could it be that it is a bad subwoofer? Is there supposed to be a light illuminated on top of the blue wi fi light?

Put Soundbar in STANDBY / power off mode (turn the sound bar off but leave it plugged in). With SubWoofer plugged in/powered up press and hold ID SET button for 5 seconds (rear of sub). Point remote at Sound Bar and press & hold SAT MUTE button for 5 seconds. Watch for ID SET message to appear on sound bar screen and turn on the power to the sound bar.

I just purchased a new LED Samsung TV that has ZERO Outputs of any kind. If I understand your video correctly I could use a HDMI Cable from my Satellite Box into the Soundbar and then from the Soundbar to the TV?

I don't even need an hdmi cable with my soundbar. It connects to the tv automatically through blue tooth (I'm guessing). The light on the soundbar says "tv", and I didn't have to change the input at all. When I turn on the TV it automatically turns on the soundbar.

Is it possible to have my TV and PS4 connected to the soundbar at the same time? Right now what I have to do is remove my TV cable and plug the ps4 cable in for the sound and the display to work through the soundbar. Then when I am done I have to remove the ps4 cable and put the TV hdmi cord in. It is a bit of a hassle

How can you connect the Samsung HW-E450 sound bar to desktop computer for speakers? Sound bar is already connected to my Samsung SmartTV and Samsung 3D-Blu ray DVD player. Is there a cable that works with the AUX audio jack on the sound bar. The 3.5 mm is ok to the AUX connection on Sound Bar, but the white and red connections do not fit on the I/O audio connections on my PC.

All About Home Electronics.com Geek Squad and Samsung Best Buy Geeks and others have told me that all male 3.5mm cable will work, so I bought a 6' Monster 3.5mm cable with male ends shown to me by Craig Tatum, Channing's "cousin", at Miner's ACE hardware.

Unfortunately, no. That other jack is an input. You would need an output to plug in earphones (Which this unit does not have).

Setup TIP: Plug the Electrical Cord of the Wireless Subwoofer into a known working (non switched) electrical receptacle first. Wait 60 seconds and then plug in the electrical cord of your soundbar into a known working (non switched) electrical receptacle. The subwoofer & soundbar should then automatically pair.

try to keep the subwoofer within (approximately) 10-12 feet of the soundbar. Unplug the sub woofer, unplug the sound bar. Plug the subwoofer back in and wait 1 minute. Then plug in the soundbar and turn the soundbar on, they "should" connect automatically.

For all that need to reset subwoofer, there’s a small pin hole somewhere on the back... use a paper clip hold until it stop flashing.

sound bar has to be turned off when holding the mute button, make sure blue light is blinking fast on subwoofer first

My sub keeps on disconnecting in and out while it's on, worked great for year and now this. Wish they at least gave the option to add a wire and avoid this issue. To connect the sub turn off sound bar, reset sup till it blinks, then hold the sat mute button till the bar says connect. The bar must be off then your holding the sat mute bottom on the remote.

Lorenzo, we'd recommend giving consideration to using a Digital Toslink Optical cable to connect the OUTPUT of the TV to the Sound Bar. It's just a "pass through" so you shouldn't experience any appreciable loss. You "might" need to look at the MENU settings of your TV to make sure the Digital output is configured appropriately (not all TVs have a Toslink digital output and/or adjustable settings for such an output)

What year is this bar?

I made all the connections correctly, I used a HDMI cable from sound bar OUT to the TV HDMI ARC. The subwoofer is properly connected with the sound bar, but I have absolutely NO sound at all. I up the volume but no success.

I’m having the same problem of NO sound from the sound bar. You say you ran an hdmi cable FROM the sound bar out TO the TV HDMI ARC (what is that?) . Have you solved the sound issue? If so, can you tell me precisely how you made the connections? How did you provide signal TO the sound bar?

I don't believe that for the past few weeks I was pressing the wrong mute button on the remote control. I was pressing the TV mute button. But it's the large mute button at the bottom middle mute button.... It saves me buying a new sound bar. Lol
