It has 800 watts, samsung ht tz220 has 850 watts. I didn't have ht tz220. But I had ht tz225 and it was very powerful system. One of the best I had.

Have got one but malfunction when playing

She switches on by herself, I have to leave it switched off at the mains unless using it

First time I heard it switches on. I would try to unplug it from your tv. Leave it in standby mode and see if it will switch on.

It's very hard find what's the problem. You can try open it and have a look for some physical damage. Usually it's a capacitor.
