Why do you prefer the logitech mac keyboard for your tab 7+? Is it the size, or color? I use a logitech master keys, it's full size, but it can link to my PC , laptop with flow and to the ten 7+. Just wondering why you went with the one you linked to

Only if Audible was actually a decent price. Kinda expensive for 1 book a month and having to wait a month for another book sucks where I can kill books in a day or 2 with it....Also the cost of audio books are insane if you want another book but don't have a credit for a "free book" with the sub.

Heard my whole life Android tablets weren't very good. Bought an s7+ a month ago and I almost don't touch my smartphone anymore, or even my computer. It's pretty awesome

@@rstr0up tablet mode is really great. Dex, for some reason, not so much. It works well, but if you spend hours there it starts bugging. At least for me. Also, absolutely go for the 8gb model. Ram management is very aggressive and the available ram is very small if you're using a browser.

@@gabrielgon3408 if i understand correctly switching to dex is done by simply enabling the mode right? i want to switch to an android tablet myself for productivity purposes, i.e. to be able and get a proper landscape mode (which is dex in this case) to edit word, excel and powerpoint documents on the go. do you use those at all?

@@rstr0up dex is amazing. Can't recommend enough. Plus with new android updates coming and windows 11 functionality stuff it's only getting better. I think Samsung realizes it's something special and could be their main selling point

For the finger print sensor, you have to let it recognize your finger. You can't just quickly press and expect for it to read your finger.

Yes. Face recognition is horrid in low light and same with the fingerprint. My 2 main gripes with this tab.

You have to readd multiples of your fingerprint after applying the screen protector and I think there's an extra sensitivity setting

Yes, this! When I watched how quickly she moved her finger away, I was like, hey! leave it there for more than a millisecond!! It doesn't take that long, but it is longer than an eye blink.

I think it's awesome that someone is still paying attention and making reviews on Android tablets 👍I would just add couple of things. I think the lack of apps is not so much Samsung's fault but more developers. They're simply not interested in developing for Android, there's very little support on Google's part.

I think that's true of android in general. I feel like ios and ipados are so dominant and I feel like google has given up. there doesn't seem to be a vision or a driving force. samsung is the only company that cares but they're Unable to get third party developer support. Foldable seem to be the only hope for Android. otherwise iOS is only a couple of features away from obeleting them

@@PSYCHOV3N0M Yeah no. For the vast majority of users, the consistency of iOS, both on the user end and developer end, there's WAY more support. Just because you can "do more" on one, doesn't say anything about actual SDK consistency, support, and longevity.

I LOVE this video/ the way you go straight to important concrete uses pro s and cons, and quickly demonstrate what you're talking about on the screen. And not waste time showing the box, the little curve (or lackthereof), the colors bla bla.. And KEEP that concept of reviewing stuff months later, it not only separate you from others, it makes for much more valuable reviews based on actual use. Your my favorite reviewer by far and im sure you will make it BIG. Just keep putting value (to the viewer) over cramming tons of info like most others do, and you'll be a millionaire in no time : )

I went back to your original video 3x. It really helped me in deciding to purchase one. It came last week and I love it. Still figuring everything out but that is part of the fun with a new gadget. OMG yes, I wish they would sell the kickstand by itself. I knew from the get-go I wanted it but I had to get the keyboard cover, it's just sitting collecting dust. That kickstand though is probably my second favorite feature.

The Galaxy Tab S7+ is an awesome tablet. I picked up the 512GB variant a few months ago, and I love it. I even added a 256GB MicroSD card in there as well. Thao, you're absolutely right about tablet app support. When I had my iPad 9.7", I never ran into an app that I couldn't use in landscape/portrait mode. The Reddit app is designed to run in portrait mode, but I downloaded the Rotation Control app that forces all apps to run in landscape mode. Dex Mode is fantastic. I wish a product like this existed when I went to high school/college back in the day because it would've been my main driver. Great video as always!

Agreed, and I would add, very underrated. I wish Samsung would tout/market it more, but there may be reasons why they don't. 🤷🏼‍♂️ As Thao pointed out, far too many ppl don't even know it exists, and just assume it's an iPad. 😩😄

The Tab S7+ also has Facial recognition if you don't want to use the in-display FP scanner. It's not secure for banking/investing apps or Sites, but it works decently as it should. I'm not sure if the S7 has that, but regardless, but are great tablets/Chromebook substitutes (esp with DeX and the keyboard).

I use mine for reading comics a lot as it's nearly the same size as an actual comic when you hold it in portrait. In addition, I record and edit my podcast, and I do some light 4K video edits. Great video as usual. Just wanted to comment on the green tint issue at low brightness. I have found that switching the refresh rate to 60Hz fixes the issue and since I don't want to use it at 60Hz all the time I use bixby routines to make the tablet switch to 60Hz when I open Netflix and other media consumption apps, but make sure you lower the brightness before switching to 60Hz to get the best results because sometimes when you lower the brightness after switching the green tint stays there. I am not sure why this happens but I am fine with this fix since I don't need 120Hz while watching movies and 60Hz consumes much less battery and fixes the color issue. I hope this helps everyone having this issue.

One thing that is missing is real tablet optimized apps

Good review of Samsung S7 plus Android tablet. Thao explains clearly the plus & minus points of using the tablet very well. You can use it as an tablet or laptop in Dex mode. The S pen is itself is very useful!!! Great screen for watching videos, movies etc., Also Samsung has optimised the software in different ways to suit the user. Most iPad users will love this tablet, since it's got some cool features!!! But iPad has some great pro apps not available in android!!! All in all a great tablet for all users at an affordable price!!

This isn't for this tablet because it doesn't have a silly dedicated bixby button, but you can turn your bixby button into a camera shutter, much more useful than bixby! Did this for my S9.

That back tho!😜 Totally made up for the price because the keyboard is meh. Great video Thao, as always. 😊

Hi Thao, I have high hopes for Windows and Samsung integration improving and the apps improving. Dex has come along way but it would be great if more apps worked better with it. The S7 tablet is very pricey in Australia. I really only want to use it to watch movies when i travel so I think I'll look at getting the s6 tablet instead. I will have a note 2014 10.1" tablet!! It still works but the battery is very dead these day.

Tab vs Chromebook comparison would be helpful especially for students

I would take this over a Chromebook any day of the week. You will have much better app compatibility and Dex mode plus the keyboard and the S Pen is perfect for notes.

@@dondrechsel7384 I disagree with you here, Chrome OS functions much better as a desktop operating system than dex also app compatibility on both Will be about the same. And as someone who's used the keyboard of the tab S7..It's not that great, It's finicky, the trackpad is just too small and not very good, and the keys don't have a lot of travel plus it's a very cramped keyboard. Lastly a Chromebook has a full desktop browser with full desktop apps along with support for Linux apps.

Awesome tip about having Bixby Routines to change to 120 hz in certain apps! Thanks for the follow up video, just got the tablet a month ago and so amazed by it.

make sure that the fingerprint sensor stays on all the time, Special Access, optimize power, change to all and search biometri.... turn it of, this will prevent the fingerprint scanner to go off and on, because it is always on, the scanner is blazing fast

It is a shame really that Google has ditched the tablet market completely, but I really appreciate what Samsung has done to make this device relevant. Dex mode is really a game-changer and I basically use the device for everything including video editing (Kinemaster), photo editing (Adobe Lightroom), gaming (Stadia) and enjoying all kinds of multimedia content. Knox is brilliant in separating work apps from private ones and the Microsoft apps work also great on this device, especially with dex. I find the keyobard case extremely expensive, so I went with the Logitech K380 and a Dux Ducis case. If you are not deep in the Apple ecosystem, this device is top!

You have to understand that there are always trade-offs with Tech, just as there are compromises in so many other facets of life. For example, if the Tab S7+ was using an Intel (or even AMD) x86 processor with full-on Windows, its battery life would be pitiful, given the 4K OLED display and its ultra-thin, fan-less design. Even last year's Galaxy Chromebook had exactly that problem, since it had a 4K OLED in a fairly thin, fan-less chassis. Many users complained about 3-4 hours of SOT and overheating issues, which is absolutely terrible, considering it doesn't even run Windows. 😩😄

@@samuelmanny6231 I believe that the upcoming 13" iPad Pro (IPP) display will have comparable resolution to the Tab S7+, and be even brighter (nits). The problem I have with it is its pricing, esp when you configure higher storage & RAM, no Pencil is included, and the Magic keyboard is $300+. That makes the Tab S7+ look like a bargain by comparison, since it has expandable storage, and the S-pen is included. And even after spending all that $$ on an IPP, you still (as of now anyway) won't be able to run desirable Mac programs like Xcode, Logic Pro, and Final Cut Pro. 🤦🏼‍♂️ We'll find out for sure at WWDC in June.

@@Sharky165 the resolution of LCD iPad pro is actually close to tab S7+. In games...the resolution is higher in iPad Pros. The resolution in OLED tablet is also drastically lowered when 120hz is used. The brightness for tab s7+ is up to 430nits. The iPad Pros can go up to 600nits! Wothout the risk of screen burn ins esp tablets have many static images...even the tint shifting, fast color degradation that happens in Samsung OLED tablets. For miniLED iPad Pro, it can go up to 1600nits. The standard minimum for HDR contents is 1000nits. It's important for tablets fto be bright without risks of any damage, esp they are used in bright rooms and they have many static images when using them for productivity and creativity stuffs. Watch TeohYiChie's video...you'll see the difference in display esp that is important when playing movies and seeing photos and videos on apps and websites the way the creators intended them to look like.....eps now with miniLED, the contrast ratio is far better than previous and color accuracy is better with more colors and peak brightness.

@@chazdk1 because Procreate is the best app for drawing on tablets (esp with iPad Pro 120hz color accurate screen +matte screen protector for paper-like feel + apple pencil 2 with silicon cover for best comfort) and Procreate will never port to android as their team said. Check Gal Shir videos for Procreate...procreate has the best brushes and simple to use so you can focus on creating. There are many videos for Procreate...some draws very complex stuffs and even photorealistic ones. Some draws very simple ones so it's motivating to create as it's not intimidating esp for beginners. For color accuracy...watch TeohYiChie's artist review of iPadPro vs SamsungTabS7+ All videos or movies you'll watch will be how the creators intended them to look like on iPads esp the miniLED iPad pro because of great contrast ratio and up to 1600nits brightness for HDR....1000nits is the standard minimum for HDR movies etc. Apple is great in image processing just like Sony and Panasonic. South Korean and Chinese companies are not good in that department but great in manufacturing hardware like panels. Check Jonathan Morrison blind test video of iPhone XR vs 1080p Pocophone...both uses LCD panels but different display. For iPhone color acccuracy vs Samsung even if Samsung manufactures oled panels for iPhones...check HDTVtest...he's professional. Even camera shots on iPhones are color accurate like your skin etc the way your eyes see them. For studies using iPads... watch Samuel Suresh videos about note taking and learning.

@@chazdk1 there are many affordable 2nd hand iPad Pros online if money is a big issue. Just check its serial number on apple website if it's legit or original.

You could've gone for Infinite Painter. It's just as good if not better than Procreate. I too was hoping for a Procreate in Android so I did my research before buying and came across Infinite Painter. I tried it out and loved it. There's alternatives now

As an iPad pro user there are something's that make the experience frustrating when you don't use other apple products with it. That's one of the reasons I'm considering switching to a Galaxy tab. But like you said the main thing keeping Samsung back is the quality of the apps available. Hopefully in future when I'm ready to switch, the Galaxy tab will be ready for me 🤞🏾

The iPad doesn't even have a optimized version of Instagram. They also had a tablet version of Twitter and stopped supporting it smh

Use website version for instagram...Facebook hates Apple. Aside from instagram...everything else is optimised esp pro apps...so many exclusive apps like procreate

this i don't get, when i saw it on the iPad being unoptimized , i was surprised, because i keep getting told that it was. Maybe on the iPhone, yes, but to me, the extra whatever, isn't really something that is mind blowing for me , especially when there are workarounds .

@@sonofage one thing about optimised instagram for iPads is that the instagram stories will also look great even if the instagram window is not fit edge to edge. On android, it might be optimised to fit edge to edge...but instagram is still not optimised in android android same in android phones...the instagram uploads is crappy like instagram stories. So, optimised for quality uploads is still much better than just optimized to fit edge to edge. But best is both.

I've greatly enjoyed my Tab S7+ as well. I got the keyboard and I wonder if I should buy a separate cheaper BT KB/M set. The TouchPad is okay but I just always end up using the touchscreen when navigating and the KB is nice to have when I need it, but I find it sometimes has some issues. When writing papers for school, it just seems to miss my inputs here and there. Not sure if it is a BT issue but it just feels like it is part of the keys, they are not touch typing friendly it seems and require a bit more pressure to get down and register than I would like. Lastly, that back cover is my favorite part of the set too. Love it! 😄
