Battery replace is so the table can never run out power during it's working day with swopable in the field out in the working environment Personnel handset seem to all of moved on, always on agps tracked never switched off even when screen and phone is switched off Hmm

I'm happy Samsung used physical navigation keys instead of software ones, I prefer that on phones too!

How is the screen brightness compared to the S6 Lite, and Tab A7? I'm looking to replace a Nvidia Shield K1 (8"screen), and I've been looking at the S6L & A7, both in 10", but the Active 3 may be a better gaming tablet... Thing is I like a brighter screen for movies and videos, and I don't know how they all compare.

I'm glad that the body with pen holder is actually optional case

Got the tab with a 10.4 inch but wanna upgrade to 12'' in the future. Small bezels really make big tablets a go

A very informative review. Thank you! I am wondering if the connectors on the Active3 edge work with any previous Galaxy keyboard. Bring able to take notes on a transparent page while watching an underlying video is GREAT! Dividing an 8-inch screen in half to watch video in one 4-inch half while trying to take meaningful notes on the other 4-inch half of the display would be so terribly restrictive -- -- and counter-productive! ALSO GREAT: BIG ENOUGH to use as a Tablet _plus_ SMALL ENOUGH to use as a phone -- -- just ONE DEVICE to carry around. I hope Samsung makes it easy to obtain the LTE models in the States and does _not_ screw around with model variations as it did with the original Galaxy Note8 Tablet.

I appreciate your videos on this 8 inch tablet. I've been thinking of getting a new 'phone', something to replace my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with, and this does seem ideal for that.

Seems like a large phone! I could benefit from the larger screen to make it easier for me to read my personal notes and books. My cell phone screen is too small for anything more than a shopping list, for me anyway. And I'm old so I wouldn't care if I looked funny talking into such a large device. It would also make texting easier too. Gosh. I'm talking myself into trying one!

I just recently dusted off my old note 8 tablet which is an absolutely beautiful piece of technology. Thats when I started looking for a replacement and found this. I agree with your sentiment, add wireless dex, 8gb ram, stereo speakers, and make the s pen fit into the tablet.then it would be perfect! The only thing is that if they did that then they would probably remove headphone jack, physical buttons, removable battery and it would be so expensive that nobody would buy it.

This tablet feels very powerful, waterproof, dustproof, drop-proof, and not easy to malfunction. Unfortunately, it is not available in Taiwan.

Desktop “DEX” mode on an 8 inch tablet. I wish the recent Tab A 8 models had that feature. I’m not sure I like the old school ruggedized build, but I’m glad there’s a more premium alternative to the stagnant 8” tablet market. The form factor of even the latest the iPad Mini 5 will be roughly 9 years old this November!

yes you can use it for gaming, how ever if your looking to download games that require 2G or more of space id recomend you get a minnie sd card and transfer your games to the card giving you more space on your tablet

This device is comparable to Galaxy Tab A, not the S7 or S6. I am surprised you missed that part. But anyway, informative video and looks like a candidate for my next purchase.

I own this tablet for about 2 weeks, it's great I like the size of it. The performance is OK I haven't had and issues with processing power, only problem I had when I was watching KZread it started to make a cracking sound from the speaker I reset it and haven't noticed it since also what people don't mention is the flash light is extremely bright for a mobile device it's amazing. I don't like that the included case/ cover stops usb c drive fitting in the tablet. It's kind of an annoying oversight, the usb c otg that Samsung includes with their other phones won't fit in this tablet without taking off the included case first. Really disappointing. Great review BTW I bought it because you gave us great information on it, thanks

So looking at an 8-9 inch android based tablet for my vehicle to run a couple of android only applications to run in tandem with my radar detector. Would this still make a worthy device (Google and security) updates? Or would something like the Lenovo M9 or Verizon Orbic Tab8 5g be a better long term decision. Thanks for your thoughts. According to a German sales page, it'll get security updates for 4 years after the launch date. So, it should be updated until the end of 2024. And according to Lenovo's Update Matrix, the M9 will get security updates until April of 2025. So, a couple of month longer.

samsung does not sell spare batteries for this device (as per their forum) only an engineer will provide an extra battery if the current one has problems. seems really odd

If depends on the use. I use my active 3 mostly for note taking, web search and playing product demo video and I just love it. When need playing games or high res video will use my tab s6.
