Thank you for the demo of how to install, I got an opened my otterbox that came with no instructions, no box off amazon. This is my 2nd Otterbox just different type for my phone, after 3 year my otterbox had few cracks in it so I upgraded to the Defender, my phone looks brand new! Thank you again for the install, I would have never guessed there was 3 parts to the case.!!!

I finally bought an S9+ and an Otter Defender Pro case. My Samsung S4 in an Otter Box kept that old phone safe for I guess 20 years out on the job. I was a Journeyman Industrial Electrician and it went thru hell and back. It still works fine but eats batteries for breakfast and heck, I earned a new one.

I just tried to install my new Otterbox defender for a Samsung Galaxy A50 using the diagram included- I almost broke it- so I googled the video- very easy after watching- looked at the diagram again and realized I was not paying attention at all- the diagram is O.K.- but much easier after watching. Thanks.

I've had mine for almost 2 years now. And it really does protect my phone especially my screen, I have dropped my phone on accident facing down. And never broke each time I did.

Last week I saw an iPhone fall out of a guy's pocket while driving a scooter at least 10 cars drove over it. I pulled over to grab the phone to try and return it....the phone was fine and it was because of the Defender case it was in

I order mine last night while my paperwork was being done on my new S9 plus. Lol I got the same color case you are showing on your video. Got mine for $19.99, ebay.

Nice case, nice review. If you want to have the phone on your desk standing up but on a slant, take the phone out of the clip case, turn the clip so it is lenghtwise, and with the side of the clip case that has the center clip that locks the phone in place, facing at the bottom, you can just lay your phone down into the case (not clipped in but just so the top of the phone is sitting on top of the case corners and the bottom of the phone is sitting inside of the case corners), it will just rock forward into a standing 45 degree position. Hope that long winded explanation is understandable.

Thanks for your review! Very excellent. I just bought mine in my country for USD 25. I thought it was cheaper than the rest ones so I thought it might be fake but I see many people commenting they got the same one in Walmart for 22 or 20 so I think it's ok.

Unfortunately, with the low cut side, dropping the phone can result in a cracked screen at the edge of the screen if it hits anything hard. This is also a problem with the Commuter case. I wish they made a case with sides raised a bit more to protect from the unfortunate screen edge impact drops that can occur.

hey good video, I was hoping to find a video like this one because I just bought the S9+ and I plan to buy the same Otter Box you did maybe in a different color (not black) and throw it in the case like you just did in the hopes of the added protection. I got the 64 gig midnight black device S9+ and man is it a nice phone!

Hey!!!! The belt clip case the otterbox comes with can be used as a stand in a better way than this video shows. If u squeeze on the part that opens the clip wider, u can squeeze it till it clicks. Then it's locked in place so that you can use it as a much more sturdy cell phone stand.

Have one of these on my s7 edge best case out wouldnt go tonanything else trying to find th right one for my new s9 😂😁

I've never needed the tempered glass with Gorilla Glass 5, as long as I don't put it in pockets with metal objects like keys or lighters, and keep the phone in a good case there's no reason to Crack your screen my pgmhone has fallen out of a moving ups truck while working for them and the phone was fine, case cracked a little but it wasn't the defender can't remember which otterbox it was

the link you have for the s9 + shows a rather strange blue - just i bad picture or a different color?

With the gorilla glass that the s9 plus comes with you really don't needs a screen protector especially if it's in the OtterBox Defender case I means when I first got my Galaxy S9 plus I had purchase a screen protector right along with the OtterBox defender case however the screen came off and for the past month I had no problems with scratches or cracked screen the case does it's job well with protection because I dropped my phone twice on concrete and no problems

Eddie Gooden yes, with the Outterbox Defender your phone is well secured when dropping it and the glass is strong enough to prevent scratches and cracks however it still wants a protector cool however it really depends on the person, I has a coworker who keeps his phone in his pocket right along with his keys and pocket change and his phone looks mess with all the scratches but the could easily be wiped out

Eddie Gooden my s6 had gorilla glass and I was able to literally punch the screen multiple times without it breaking.im talking straight punching in.i did that cuz it was old and knocking it would fix the connectors a bit but non the less,it may not have worked,but it took punches and banging on a metal pipe so yea I'm sure its gucci

I had tempered glass with this case on my S9+.

I've had this case for almost 2 years and it's been a good case for the most part. My only complaint is the rubber shell is now stretched out and doesn't fit tightly as it should. Still works but looks ghetto as hell..

Does the case ride above the edges? By any chance do you know if the Otterbox for the S9 rises higher on the edges than the S8 Defender? It seems like it does. Also, what screen protector are you using and do you have any issues with it? Thanks

Not sure what you mean by rising above the edges. You mean is there a raised lip. I believe I showed some of the lip in the video. I'm using the whitestone dome screen protector and don't use it with this case. It raised all corners of my glass

Yes, I meant the raised lip. I saw it was raised on the top and bottom but is it raised above the glass on the sides or is the glass more raised/taller than the case on the sides? Thanks, I was thinking of using the whitestone dome with a case but I guess it's not compatible.

Otterbox alpha glass fits perfectly on defender

In your link it's not the same color the one on Amazon is a lighter turquoise green/light blue

It definitely is one of the top cases.

3:52 that is not the proper way to use it as a stand. On the clip part if you open it all the way it snaps locked so you can use the wide open part of the clip as the stand. To release, press the bumpy part above the clip (the piece that it snaps into). I would also hold the bottom open end when releasing it so it doesn't slam down hopefully reducing wear and tare.

Bought my S9+ defender at Walmart for $22 and change

I'll be honest. I have no idea. The whitestone dome I have didn't do well with the defender. Check out the OtterBox pursuit case video I just did.better compatibility

Otterbox Alpha Glass for S9 & S9 plus made to fit perfectly. I have purple defender with alpha glass on my S9 plus.

Otterbox doesn't make their own cases anymore, they have so factory is China make it for them and they slap their name on it. Premium materials, on my defender one of the clips in the shell broke off easily.

Doesnt work with a glass screen protector the screen protector pops off when you put it together

Reminds me kind of what the LGV30 one look like with the camera part. Kind of ugly TBH

Not really worth paying $50.00 since it doesn't have a built in screen protector.

They took it out so that people could put in tempered glass instead. I had one of these for my S5 and the tempered glass made the case almost not fit. I don't know about you, but you want tempered glass instead of some stupid plastic scratch guard.

Fuck the screen protector. Im glad otterbox did away with it and made a screenless defender. The screens that used to come on the otterbox put to large a gap between your finger and the actual screen causing alot of aggravation when trying to swipe the screen up or down
