I was going to upgrade from S7 to S8 only for camera reasons and the fact that I have purchased Samsung GearVR and I assumed the S8 would have better image and camera qualities. I like this approach to the evaluation of products, seems objective to me. Subscribed. I own a Samsung S7 Edge and I am very much pleased with the experience. Of course, I will skip the S8, or then buy an S8+ when the S9 comes out and the S8's price is slashed down considerably ;-)

I find it dumb that samsung changed their charging port. I have 50+ micro usb chargers and then there's my S8 which uses usb type C 😡. When a micro usb charger breaks I just throw it away and grab a another one from my drawer full of them. When my usb type C charger breaks, I gotta buy a new one. 😠

I already own an s7 and was actually looking forward to s8. But I've done some research and watched a ton of videos and comparisons. And I have to say. Being an s7 owner. The upgrade to s8 isn't really worth the extra money you'll spend on it. Since the experience with camera. Software and battery is almost identical on both. So no upgrade for me.

Kenny Carr I actually did end up upgrading to s8. No regrets. Phone is great and I got used to it pretty quickly. I gave the old one to my brother since his was dead. So it was a win for me. Upgraded to s8 and made my bro happy 😊

Kenny Carr you won't regret it. It's got great features and the feel of the phone in my hand is good. The only issue I had was choosing a tempered glass that would go with the original Samsung flip cover. I solved that issue with using the screen protector instead (invisible defender wraps around the edges no lift)

I chose the S7 for $239 (purchased Dec 2017 vs. S8 released March 2017) -- upgraded from a three year old S5. I absolutely love the S7 thus far as it is quite the upgrade from the S5. No regrets and am loving Saki's informative videos.

Saki you are really good and I really appreciate your Videos and I absolutely agree I have the S7 Edge Exynos version of the phone and have not received any issues with the phone and I have put it through it's paces. I did not want to give up my Note 7 and was not happy that I had to.but with that being said this is not my first choice and still say I miss my note terrible. I like the phone and I can't really complain other then not a fan of Edge but the phone is zippy and the display on these phones are Beautiful. I also think the battery is a little bigger on the Edge.You are right on with your Reviews and Love all the tips and tricks.Keep up the Great comparison and Reviews as I look forward to them definitely thumbs up.Deb

In regards to your comments about the fingerprint scanner being on the back of the phone. While I agree with your example of wanting to use the phone while it's lying down (something a lot of reviews fail to bring up), one thing that seems to be overlooked is that there are other options for unlocking your phone. I don't have my S8+ yet, but I assume that the option to use a PIN or a swipe code are still there. So for instances where your phone is laying on it's back, could you not simply use one of those methods? I plan to use the fingerprint scanner while the phone is in my hands and a swipe code for when the phone is laying on a surface or in a charging stand. Sure it's not the latest and greatest, but it's still an option.

Excellent breakdown of the differences between the S7 and S8! Your logic is sound and truthful. You show advantages of purchasing either phone. I currently own an S6 and was about to choose the S7, until you said "If you own an S6, you may want to go with the S8 to make you feel that you are getting a true upgrade." It will be my last phone for a very long time, so I'm going to do the Half Off an S8 promotion that Sprint is currently running. $250 down. Thanks very much for your comparison! Thank you Sakitech. Very useful review. I am upgrading from a Samsung A3 and I think I will go for the S7. At £350 it seems better value than the S8 at £550. I love the look of the S8, but I am also concerned that it may not be as durable, as I am out in the countryside a lot with my phone.

I like your honest review makes my decision much easier I also own an s7 the only thing I was want to do was have a bigger screen experience I guess I was just use to my note four since which I still own and us as a wi-fi device only

I upgraded to the Galaxy S8 this past August directly from the S4, which I had received from my dad early last year before he passed, to upgrade from a flip phone. I made sure to go the extra mile with my phone by getting it a phone case with kickstand, as I am a very heavy user of my Galaxy.

I have owned every Galaxy since the S3,S4,S5,S6,S7,S7,EDGE AND S8. I love my S8 and still holding its own in 2020. Paid 80ukp for my S8 in May 2019 from Gumtree. Its worth 80 today!. If the S8 wasnt so cheap i would still have my S7 EDGE,Love android.

No. Even the Verizon store online states the phone is $19.79 per month for 24 months and $474.99 to buy it outright. ATT is within a couple of dollars as well. The price of the 2-year payment plan is literally $.03 less than buying it outright. Where they tend to make their money is on insurance and the service itself. Newer generation phones may be slightly different as their price points are higher. I'm not sharp shooting you, but $24 is WAY too good to be true.

Good advice! S7 is very good. Still, I don't regret 'upgrading' to S8 (from S7) btw; Snapdragon only in USA(?), Exynos - everywhere else! btw,

After setting up S8's for a couple of neighbours I could quickly decide that it wasn't for me. Phones get better and better by the model, but since they also just get bigger and bigger it will come to a point where I can say "I don't want a better phone"... and after having an S8 in my hand and imagining it dressed up in an Otterbox Commuter case, I knew that this point was reached. :D

I have owned my S7 for about a year and what i see from S8 is a significantly change of screen-ratio and i think it's great for gaming experience . Despite a bit feel regret but i don't think so that my S7 is already obsolete at all , it is still performing well so far , as the melt a year away l feel lag and battery drain a bit though , nice video anyway keep looking a forward from u

It proves that samsung is long term usage phone. S2 is actually great phone. I was using it, before moved to iphone. Now I'm using S7 Flat. S9+ is too expensive, so be grateful with what I have now

Still rocking my s7 in 2020

I went from the S5 to the S8 and i like it but i cant use wifi tethering with the new OS. I dont mind the iris scanner, i dont mind where they put the finger print sencor, its nice.

Great video.. I'm still perplexed as to whether to upgrade to the S7 or S8.. I currently have the S5 and I love it.. What would you suggest?

S7 is superior to S5. 'Experts' say that S6 was a 'leap' for Samsung, S7 refined S6 and S8 = S7 in Jaguar's Fur! I sold S7 now have S8 and with exception of Iris and bigger screen, S8 is not much different than S7. No Iris in F7 but fingerprint works well - you press + hold Home button and the phone goes from sleep to open in 1 second! Save money and buy S7.

It left out some details on bout phones but I still like the video it was straight to the point and also I have a S7. Oh and also the fast charge is good on the S7 but my phone heats up way to hot when I use it. Does that also happen with the s8

should I use my jump upgrade program in TMobile and get it it should I keep my s7? I mean I am paying for the jump program so I should take advantage of it ?

HI i am an samsung Galaxy S6 edge user, what would you recommend as compare to all the things, should i buy the S7 edge, or new Iphone 7 Red or S8.

The main difference? Do you prefer the S7 or S8 design. That really is what determines the S7 vs S8, more then any other phone that I know about. I personally strongly dislike the S8's design, so I have the S7. If you like older phone designs and still love having an actual front facing home button, the S7 is for you.

i bought a s7 edge Blue Coral Yesterday , as an iphone 6 s plus user i have to say apple's software is a bit smoother but the s7 edges camera is amazing but compared to ios it feels just a bit laggy.

I have used both iphones and Samsung and genuienly have never experienced lag on a samsung anymore then i have done on an iphone! A few years ago perhaps but my s7 edge for example was just as smooth and fast as my iphone 6s..... even faster then the 6s in fact although that was with nova installed and animations turned off! If your s8 is laggy.... something is wrong imo! NO flagship smartphone should be laggy this day an age!!

my geekbench 4 score is 1944/6001 i think theres no problem with the device but the display responce is just a bit better on my 6s plus maybe thats what i mean idk :D
