Some people like the convenience of wired headphones cuz they're cheap now (especially the AKG headphones. The price went down alot).

You lose your wired headphones too and wireless prevents your phone from flinging across the room from door handles and snags. Makes no sense in this day and age. They make adapters. Thats good enough for your needs without holding everyone else back.

This is exactly what I was looking for. A video actually going into the tiny details that bring out the personality of the S24 Ultra. Everybody out here doing 8 minute videos taking the phone out of the box, setting it up, and then swiping through the home screen 3 times and calling it a day. I wanted this 2 hour tour through the settings, edge lighting, live wallpapers, S-Pen details, experienced user gripes and cons, UI POV, etc. This is why we keep coming back to your videos bro.

I loved tech as a child, I would carry a beeper that wasn't even connected cause I was amazed by them. It's safe to say I'm a life long tech geek. probably want to keep the 20 because it's probably the last NOTE with internal storage...It gives you more redundancy and you can get them for around $500-700....I am also in the same age range and I have like 10 computers,phones, use open source on my devices,,It network, studio gear/samplers, etc...WE are out here...

Please! Do! NOT Get! the S24 U ! I sadly can not return mine anymore! But i would. If you need to buy the S23U. It is better in my option. There are so many things flossy sadly missed. Worse UWB Anntenna than S21U. Worse heating Materials then S23 which made them install a bigger Vapor chamber. What they of course market as an upgrade. And in my experience within just casually using my phone for 2h i lost nearly 50% battery. So unless you are in battery saving mode which disabels your synchronisation 5G etc. The battery is very bad. And it took nearly 2 months to update this shit phone. I did get my security update on my old S21 a couple of days! bevor this scam S24U got its. Just scam all around. The Pakete itself is very bad too. You get only your Phone thrown at you. Without case without a Screenprotector wothout charger. And you paid over 1400 € for a scam phone. And some paper. And by the way all the Galaxy AI features will be coming next month to the S23. And if you can not wait just download all Google Apps there are. And you have circle to search in G Assistant.

Hey Flossy, a guy in his mid 60's here very interested in top phones and Flossy teachings. This one is the Gladiator of S24 Ultra reviews!

I agree flossy more primary colors are needed. My favorite color is also red, I would've gotten it so quickly. I'm getting the banana head yellow lol upgrading from s20+, so excited for my phone to get here.

Floss - big fan of your channel. Have been following you for years now. One thing I discovered about the fingerprint is that when you register you finger, I'll have my finger scan at different angles including upside down. I've always done this on every galaxy and it significantly improved the reading of my fingerprint. No delays. Also same thing with the face scanner. It's instant for me even at less ideal conditions. Give that a try.

Remember how you used to get S pen extra tips and a tip removal tool with the Notes back in the day? You don't even get those in the box now, BRUH.

I agree, Samsung boxes feel super cheap. Not a great feeling when you just spent $2,699 NZD on a new phone and then you are presented with cheap cardboard and nothing in the box. Even Samsung's cables are super cheap. Even Apple gives you a nice quality braided cable and Samsung gives you a $1 cable.

I am a samsung girl. I had an iPhone before. They are good phones, but I love my icons and live wallpaper. I used to buy my icons in the past and get wallpaper separate, and create my own personal look. That is the selling point for me and the fact I can download whatever and store where I want. I got the 24 ultra and went through different videos to set certain features. Now my phone is working magnificent . It is so fast also, Battery last longer. By the way, I love your wallpaper with the fish.

Cell signal sucks. My 13 and pixels have had the worst cell reception ever. Today my friend with s23 ultra on a private bus had cell signal and everyone else had iPhone and no reception. That ain’t a dam good phone lol

Man a big dream of mine is during a Samsung Unpacked they start the show off with Flossy's gripes and they reveal they've addressed all of those things, SD card makes a return, IR blaster makes a return, faster wired/wireless charge, improved face unlock, improved fingerprint. He's been a lifelong iPhone user who flirted with Android so he doesn't really understand how clutch it is to have all your memories and music saved without having to buy cloud storage (which I don't). It just sucks that they really abandoned the OG Android features we all knew and loved 😢

Really good video. I suggestion for next time would be to upload it in 1440p at least, so that for example when you showed the video you took with the phone, we'd be able to see a better representation of the quality of the video. When you mentioned some of your dislikes of the phone and you showed the always on display, how you can't anymore control the brightness, I didn't even notice that with my s24 ultra compared to my s23 ultra, since I haven't used always on display since, I use it sometimes when I don't have a clock in the room. That's a feature I will miss for sure. Another feature that I noticed that really bothers me, that you did not mention, is the navigation bar gesture. Currently with the new s24 ultra there are two options, you can either have a navigation bar, or a iPhone-like, no navigation bar, but a swipe up for home, swipe up and hold for recent apps, and swipe from the edges of the screen for back. However with us s23 ultra there was an additional swipe option, without the navigation bar, where you were able to just use the bottom of the phone for all gestures, so swipe up in the middle was for home, swipe up on the bottom right for recent apps, and swipe up from the bottom left for back. I've been using that system for years, and it's no longer an option and I miss it. Aside from getting used to the new swipe gestures, this basically makes the edge screen panel a nuisance because then you cannot use that right panel for a back button. Another thing that I needed to stop using was one hand operations+, for those that don't know what that is, it's a programmable edge panel specifically for gestures, I used it to be able to swipe from the edge of the screen and lock the phone, with a large phone like this this was very a convenient way to lock the phone. I cannot use that anymore because if I do then I do not have a back button. I wonder if this affected many people, because I'm not sure many people used that third kind of navigation bar, but I did and I miss it.😢

You can hide the navigation bar entirely, you just need to use goodlock to enable that option

Hey floss great video as usual, I was thinking maybe you should do a short (kinda) video about the s24 ultra after it receives its first update, rumors are its improving various aspects of the software, camera and I think a lot can change from this video and I'm keen on hearing your opinion about it

Great review. My son works in the phone industry. I get a new phone every year. So he gave me the S24 Ultra and I gave him my one year old S23Ultra. Still trying to get it all setup the way I like it and then take advantage of the few new features. I like the eSim option over the physical Sim. I think many of the Goodlock settings have been incorporated in the phone's Setting menu. I am sort of anal about having an absolutely clean status bar and I can by using Goodlock.

I remember back in the day having to watch 3 or 4 reviewers just to find answers, Floss you answer everything. My guy 💯

but these days you can get ir blasters which will also work over google so you're covered at home and I can't think of any use case why I need an IR blaster outside the home other than flossys use case of shenanigans at the gym 😂

I agree a 100% with your life message. I upgrade every single year... not that I have to, not that I should, but I just do it. I used to share this hobby with my baby brother who is no longer around so I just like to think I give us both a little joy every time I manage to get the latest one. Sounds silly but it means a lot to me for sure ☝🏽

I've bought Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra a couple of days ago. Colour: Titanium Violet. Storage: 512GB. So shocked first time seeing the box - looked like a child's play. Simply can't wait to start using it (still waiting for a charger, case and a screen protector, getting them these days for sure). Device colour is absolutely immaculate - outlines the Titanium frame and silver rings of the camera module. S pen being gray keeps you feel not missing the other colour that much.

Got my 24Ultra yesterday and uncle floss drops the video just in time, to give me an idea on what I'm getting into. Never gets bored watching your videos mate. Nothing but love for you and the white shoes.

Lol MAN I needed this video. Updated my S24 thanks to you. Never would have known about any of this without your video!

I went to the Galaxy store and that Edge Lighting app isn't there. I truly love all your videos they are very informative 😊.

Settings -> Notifications -> Notification Pop-up Style -> Edge Lighting Style It's there.

@dwboston1 that is only for notifications. The app that Flossy is using and talking about is not in the Galaxy store, at least not that I can find

This guy gets me every time. I never plan on watching the whole review ,but I some how always do.

I see you still at it. You was my go to when the samsung frontier was out but they kept killing the battery. Left bad taste in my mouth as far as tech went settled with S 9 + and called it a day fast forward 5 years later and battery swoll. Ended up getting the 24 ultra and I still doing big. You got me getting the watch 6 classic and the buds 2 pro and you on point with the reviews. Keep up the good work and thank you again.

This was an awesome video. I went and download most of the apps you suggested. I would caution on getting the Edge Lighting App is not working. People might wanna hold off until there is some type of fix. I'm jumping through hoops trying to get a refund. Granted its only $3, but its the principal of thing.

Man, you are THE best reviewer out there, no question about it... always have been, mad respect, bro!! Nobody and I do mean NObody else goes into the details that actually matter like you do! Case in point: the stuff about the always on display - the icons, the brightness or rather lack thereof...I wouldn't even know about that, had I not watched this video. And that kinda stuff is important to me, this is annoying, I totally get it! What's even the point of the always on function if you can't see the screen in the dark and barely in daylight?? Reminds me of the old OnePlus (I think?) "always on" display you needed to tap to see. At that point it's really just a gimmick if you need to reach for it and knock on the screen or lift it up. Might as well unlock it then. Anyhow, I really wanted to say: you're still the top dog among the tech reviewers and congrats on 2 mill soon! You most definitely deserve the success! ✌️

the only thing that made me change my phone besides being a techie is going from a non pro-motion screen to a pro-motion screen. i appreciate we all use phones just for a few tools we use regularly, social media & camera’s mainly. but who doesnt love a shiny new toy every now and again? 😂

This 70 year old cares. I love my tech. I would never buy without a trade which is in my case was a S22Ultra. I would like a 45w brick and dongle in the box. I can live with bug...it will get fixed eventually. I want to see how you do all the special screen things.

I paid 751 including eSIM and taxes cause I had iPhone 13 unfortunately for two years (tried giving it a chance it’s definitely not for me being a Android guy) out of the 1400 for 512gb 12gb ram and that’s without trading yet people are paying just a bit less for even a year old trade in so trading doesn’t seem worth it.

I love it when people give REAL REVIEWS AND ARE REAL CONSUMERS.. Great review! TY.

20:53 Exactly!!! Thank you so much for covering this!! I commented this on your previous video when you were showing the AODs. For some reason very few people noticed this and very few youtubers talked about it (which is why Im trying to spread the word). I hate this new AOD!!

To touch on the point you made about the phones staying the same, I’m with you floss. I also feel that keeping the same design for a a few years helps keep the older one last longer. When every phone has a drastic change with both hardware and software, it forces you to buy a new phone all the time to catch up (unless you don’t care), where for 1000$ or more you can make it last more than 3 years. I’m still on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and even though there’s been upgrades since, my phone still feels up to date. I’ll be ready to upgrade for the iPhone 16 or Samsung 25 next year

Hey flossy, I’ve been with you since you convinced me to buy the note 4 many years ago, then I switched to the iPhone 7, then you convinced me to try out the note 9, now I’ve been using an iPhone 12 for 4 years almost, waiting the delivery of the s24 ultra, because you convinced me once again, can’t wait!! Also, big upgrade that here in Italy we also get the snap dragon variant! Thank you flossy, I love your content.
