People forget Samsung and Google has a partner ship now to make Android more streamlined between Pixel and Samsung devices. So we will see a lot of crossover and similar features between the two devices when it comes to software features

Both work together to kill off the competition. I don't know how good it is for consumers to have two behemoths working together in the long run. We see how restrictive the US market is and, TBH, a poor consumer experience with a lack of choice.

For those unaware, there's a clause in Samsungs listings for these phones that states AI features are free until 2025. It doesn't stipulate a price after then, or even if a fee will apply, but that lack of clarity on what's the main selling point is ridiculous.

Every single android phone ever released has had a similar stipulation on the skinned software agreement that you have to agree to when setting up the phone. Each year, the same clause appears, with a higher year date. Companies always want a stipulation that would allow them to charge for the elements added in their skin but it never happens. The s25 will have the same clause but the year will be 2026. Nothing new here and no idea why this is just now getting attention. Instead of attaching the clause to oneUI this year, thw clause is attached to the AI capabilities. That's the only change.

As a Samsung Note 9 user, and someone who's probably said this on the last couple of your videos. I think I really am ready to upgrade. 😂 My phone still goes strong, but battery isn't where it should be (as expected for a 5 year phone with a 4 year old battery) and while I could replace it, I haven't had security updates in years either, so... you know that's not good either.... 😕 I just am going to miss my SD Card. I have a 1 TB on this baby about 70% filled with videos and photos from my S7 Edge up to now. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to just being able to hold those memories in one place locally.

I'm another Note 9 user. I couldn't miss out on the newer One UI, so I hacked my phone to install Noble ROM on it. Recently got my battery replaced, and my phone is still going strong. Except for the part where sometimes the s-pen gets stuck in the silo lol

Great video, I always look towards seeing your thoughts! I have an S21 and my preference is for small phones, but I hate that the small devices get stiffed. I'm stuck in between the 24+ and Ultra currently, I don't see myself using the s-pen a lot so will probably save the money and just get the Plus.

Impressive lineup from Samsung! The flat display on the s24 Ultra is a game-changer, and the camera updates, especially the 5x optical lens, are intriguing. Thank you Thao, as a;ways a great review. I just bought an s23 Ultra last year coming from the Note 10 plus lol. I love my s23 so I wont be upgrading, do like the flat screen finally. Ive gone through so many screen protectors with the curved screen. One wish I would like in the future though is a less slippery back of the phone. My phone is so slippery Im scared to not a case on it unless I'm sitting down at home.

I like how they added Google translate in the messages app and Google Messages.

They cut the shutter speed to 253 ms from 333ms. It's very good now. Mr whosboss mentioned it in his review

That live translation feature will be PERFECT for here in Orlando, FL... you'll get calls from not just telemarketers, but even get calls from businesses like ::cough cough:: Central Florida Toyota, that default their business-related phone calls in Spanish.... so definitely will be a great feature!

I find most businesses operating in the UK use English-speaking callers for obvious reasons. So, it will not be of much use to the majority, as I assume that is the case in the US.

(and no this isn't me being racist), but I'm pretty sure I live in America, so, it's kinda weird for a call from a business to start the call in Spanish... it would've been a different story had I answered and an automated system asked me if I wanted to take the call in either English or Spanish.... or if the voice-mail that was left behind was left in both English and Spanish... but no... the voice-mail was just Spanish

Was it more comfort to hold the ultra or the plus?

I really hope the S22 Ultra's design is foreshadowing an updated design for the fold 6.

Would you say, that compared to S24/S24+, S23/S23+ are easier to hold because of the curved aluminium rim? Also, any chance you would get access to Exclusive colour variants of S24 series? *probably wise to note that the SD 8 Gen 3 on all S24s is ONLY for US. Rest of us have to live with Exynos in S24/S24+.

said this for the past two years but now i am really ready to upgrade. i have the galaxy note 10+ in holographic (i WISH samsung did the holographic design in their new phones its such a beautiful look on the note 10!) my phone still works well but i think its time for the switch after four years lol. i dont care for the AI aspect at all but the flat screen and 7 year support really have me interested! (the only thing i wonder is if the edge panel will still be a feature considering the "edge" is now gone 🤔)

Happy new year! I think the idea of answering the phone call and having instant translation is a little weird. I’m not saying it’s not ever needed, but I don’t know that I’ve ever ran into that problem. In person I think is more needed! Could be a cool feature for the deaf though.

No. You find many people running restaurants, as in the example Samsung used will be English speaking as it is bad for business if you cannot cater for the universal language. I think it would be suitable for the Police as they do not have to ring a translator, saving money and time. But this has been around for years on Google Translate.

It wasn't made clear in the video, but is Galaxy AI immediately available on all three S24 models? Other than that, thank you for the informative early look video.

Yes, they also said in the event that they'll become available in selected models later this year. I assume devices like recent S series, Z series and S tablets.

Yes, most features will be available at launch, but not all. The S23 will get these in Q2.

It really wasn't that hard to find a screen protector for it. Curved displays have existed for years now and all the big companies had them for the samsung phone such as Otterbox and Invisible Shield plus a lot of 3rd parties on ebay and amazon had them and they work fine.

Samsung promising seven years of Security and OS updates actually makes sense because the Qualcom Snapdragon Gen 3 is very powerful which means that they might deliver. Google's chipset is not as powerful though so i don't know whether they are going to be able to deliver those seven years of updates

It's unfortunate though that only the Ultra models got the Snapdragon processors and the regular S23 and S23+ are running on Exynos.

Honestly, I hope they will fix shutter speed with camera, as it takes unreasonable long time by default, so every moving object in a low light situation turns out blurred, which is soo frustrating...pixel is just unmatch in that regard...

I heard the AI features are only included for free for the first year. Then you have to pay extra for them. It’s in the fine print.

If the software support rumours are true it might be my reason to switch to a Samsung android, I know we have the google pixel line up but iv always been a fan of how fluid the apple os runs and Samsung look like they have taken some aspects from apple in terms of design language

My wife and I were waiting for some time to upgrade our phones. We were contemplating whether to get the iPhone 16 to be released or any of the Samsung S24 line but after watching your video, even just by the first impressions, I’m already convinced that THIS would be worth the upgrade!

I need that violet color as it reminds me of the Laker and black panther purple and I want the s24 because of Kobe number,

Compare s24+ snapdragon version with s24+ exynos version, specially in terms of battery drain, heat management, throttling, performance drop, and other differences. Majority of the world is getting exynos and are alot concerned about the past history of exynos and differences from snapdragon, plz compare.
