Had exynos 2400 been better than SD 8Gen3, Samsung would have used that in S24 Ultra as well. On top of that, only time will tell how exynos performs in the longer run. Samsung needs to realise that people, especially Indians, want the best chipset in the flagship series, even if it comes at a premium. And yes, I won't buy the S24 just because of this reason, unless they come with a SD version later :)

Loving my Exynos 2400 S24 here in the UK 😊 The Amber yellow colour I went for. Don't succumb to the mass hysteria regarding Exynos my G's. Everything works perfectly to perfection 😊 I tested & thrown everything on it - sustainability, stability, raw performance, general performance, games, production media apps etc. All good, everything checks out, top level, Top Tier SOC & it will only get better with optimisation/updates 😊 I also have the 24 Ultra but it will be the secondary phone kept at home mainly for media. I could have bought any phone available with any SOC I wanted etc. yet I purposely picked the standard S24 as my main phone 😊 Compact yet powerful enough for everyday use. Good camera (especially with the Expert Raw app that's available only on the newer Galaxy's) Good level screen, decent battery life, future proof & more.

While the S24 packs real good hardware and software features, I think Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 would've been better, even in India. Talking with personal experience, Exynos phones have throttled and heated quite a lot for me, so I've stopped giving them any value now. While the 7 years OS updates are great, the Galaxy AI being free only this year was honestly a dumb move by Samsung according to me. Personally, I think S23 is a better buy right now, for it offers that compact feel, along with an awesome camera, well-to-do processor, and an average battery life.

I had decided to upgrade to the Samsung S24 plus this Diwali after spending around 10 minutes with the phone in the Samsung store here in Pune. Throughout this time, I was thinking it was powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. During my time using this phone (I also played Asphalt for about two minutes), the phone never lags or stutters. However, after watching this video I must say that I'm disappointed that the device is powered by Exynos instead of Snapdragon, unlike the S23 plus which came with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. While the phone is phenomenal in every other way, the long-term reliability of Exynos is highly doubtful. Also, spending upwards of 80,000 rupees on a phone powered by Exynos is not for me, as I have already had a disastrous experience with Exynos phones. Therefore, no, I will not buy S24 Plus. My only reason for choosing S24 plus was that it was a handy and easy-to-use phone. Exynos, not even in my wildest dreams!

The Exynos 2400 uses the Xclipse 940 GPU built on the AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture, which delivers significant performance improvements over its predecessor. AMD RDNA™ 3 brings increased performance and enhanced mobile power efficiency, while also introducing second-generation ray tracing accelerators for more realistic graphics. This means Samsung’s ongoing collaboration with AMD will provide mobile gamers with high-performance, beautiful visuals, and long gaming experiences in the games of today and tomorrow.

The real point is after sales service. Samsung charging a premium is justified by the after sales support they provide. The total number of service centers for Samsung in a single city like Bangalore is much higher than Google's total number of service centers in India. When you go above 70k for a phone you will consider this point very seriously. Typing from my pixel 7 pro.

Had pre reserved the S24 Plus and ordered it during the live event. I too was very skeptic about Exynos but it seems the processor is good this time. Fingers crossed. Got the phone on 23rd Jan and the last 48 hours with it have been great! So far so good, it's performing very well. In hand feel is better than the S23 and cameras are a bit better. Haven't used the AI features much but the ones I used worked as expected. Battery performance has been great and no heating issues but it's too early to call. I'm happy with the phones speed, it's snappy and smooth just like a flagship. I'd recommend the S24 Plus over the regular S24 for prospective buyers as it comes with 12GB RAM and a QuadHD display like a flagship should. Larger phone will have more thermal headroom and more RAM always helps in the long run. Now only time will tell how this processor performs but it's off to a very good start.

@@k.sumanthsriharsha7326 Pixel 8 Pro is a great phone and I did consider it but Googles track record with the Pixel 6 and 7 series having lots of slowdowns, bugs and unrelibilty over the years deterred me. On the other hand mid range Samsung phones like the A52, S20FE and M53 owned by various people in my family have been reliable and are performing well so I took a chance with Samsung. I hope the Pixel 8 series turns out to be reliable in the long run unlike it's predecessors so maybe next time I could go the Pixel way.
