Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Week One: Too much?
Ғылым және технология
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is super familiar, but super stacked. It's always interesting when something feels the same, but manages to be quite different at the same time. After one week with the Galaxy S23 Ultra, I have plenty of thoughts on a phone that has a lot of the same looks as last year's Galaxy S22 Ultra, but brings some significant updates to an already powerful device.

Yes I know you can "add to home" in the icon contextual menu. I was making a point about the UX choice regardless. One of the reasons I always get a Samsung with a S pen is cold weather. I have to be outside in cold weather so I have to bundle up. You can try and manipulate your smart phone with gloves on, but it's always been a very poor experience. Pop out the S pen and you can do just about everything you can do with your hands without removing them from your gloves. Yes you could buy a stylus for cheap and use on any phone, but the fact that it has a slot keeps you from losing it.

8:48 you can also drag the app icon to the bottom of the display to move it out of the drawer, even though it doesn't explicitly tell you this like it does up top. So it's still quite easy to do one-handed, as long as you ignore the suggestion and go to the bottom instead. Or you can just hold it in place for an extra second and the drawer will disappear with the icon still selected. Point is that it's not really an actual UI problem, just a UI labeling problem.

Because the S23U is using the SD8G2 that is the same TSMC node as on the latest iPhone, so is directly comparable, and a reality check for Samsung super fans that think the better battery is a giant leap for mankind; update it isn't, just Samsung (or Quaalcomm) not cheaping out by using cheaper less efficient chips, as they have for a few years. Not sure about Samsung. . . They are pretty close one to one. Rly not sure where I am going to step cuz I'm old OnePlus fan and actually I am going to upgrade from OnePlus 7pro . In Samsung s23 ultra u have pen (if u use it), a better camera but not that much and that's everything in other side u have OnePlus a little bit more chip (like ~170€ diff), 16gb RAM and 2.5 time fast charging like for 28min from 0/100% this one hard missing in Samsung, plus u have preorder gift with OnePlus . It's hard decision actual ! What is ur opinion ?

I'm coming from the S10 to the 23 Ultra, never had such a big phone. Is your Note not too cumbersome? That's what I'm most worried about- switching from a lighter, 6.1 inch phone to a much heavier 6.8 inch phone
@DerpyDude777
Жыл бұрын
@Mein_KampfyChair Awesome! Welcome to the "Phablet" club! Haha, miss that word. But not really, I've learned how to manage the large size ever since the Note 9. I had the Note 4, Edge, 5, then up to the 9, 10+, then 20 Ultra. The jump from the 5 to 9 was decent, it was quite large compared, then just kept getting bigger. You'll eventually get used to it. Also the Note 20 Ultra is 6.9 inches so almost at that 7 inch mark screen wise so the S23 Ultra will be a 0.1 inch downgrade but it'll still be large like the Note 10+, just a tad more screen real-estate but less bezel which is nice.

As a fan and user of the Note 10, I want to know one thing: Are they ever going to switch the button/pen layout back to the original design? With the Note 10 series, the buttons are on the left and the s-pen is on the right. Which is ideal for a right-hander like me. But starting with the S20/Note 20, Samsung swapped the positions. This is perfect for leftys, but awkward for others, myself included. This is why I haven't upgraded to a new phone and don't think I will be anytime soon. So I'm asking if you know if they'll ever offer the first design again? If Samsung felt like it, they could offer both for people to customize their phone. ✌🏻&❤️
I'm a huge note taker so the s spen on the ultra series combined with my tablet is very useful! I can have my notes anywhere and anytime!

I used to think the notes were too big. Then I got a iPhone 12 Pro Max and realized it’s a hair shorter but it’s also wider. Honestly neither are a single haircut me hand comfort. But the smaller Samsung and iPhones both just feel too small 😅

Garmin Venu 2 Plus!
What is the device for taking notes that he has?
100% agree that having to drag apps to the top to add to home screen is not convenient and definitely cumbersome. So basically, reaching the top of the screen is not convenient, even if occasional, let alone repeatedly. Right? *Cough cough, "Dynamic Island"* "bUt iT iS iNNOvaTivE, yoU ApPLe hATeR"
Hey, just wanted to say, thanks for that wee tea moment... I didn't realise I needed it until it was offered to me. Love and respect from Scotland 🏴💪
Don't forget Bixby still has its place in helping with IFTTT like routines on your phone. No other brand of android device has that feature built in

@HeIsKawie you mean Google Assistant? Having moved from Pixel to Galaxy, Bixby Modes and Routines is far more robust and capable.
I got big hands and relatively long fingers and i love this phone. I had the s21 ultra and so far I'm loving the features and the customization options.
Would you recommend an upgrade from samsung Note 10 Plus to S23 Ultra? Please reply
if im not mistaken, i think Samsung store exists (and even have Google app counterparts) because they don't want to end up like Huawei.. it's what other companies call a "business continuity plan"..
9:29 try Microsoft swift keyboard. It has all the features we need like auto correct, back space to undo the auto correct, coma adds a space after coma, lot of options to add dedicated keys for some additional features, plus it looks so good.
If you want to move an app to the home screen, click on the application and do not move it, it will take you directly on the home screen
I mainly use spen 🖊 on my phone to write down my plans. Whenever any idea comes to my mind, I write it down on my phone. I also use it for drawing and conveying my ideas to others.

I type my thoughts and notes and use Evernote to sync them on all my devices. Using the spen is limited for me, though for some may be the solution. I have 15 years of notes, all in sync on many devices, and all searchable
Very frustrated that I watched this video and it is interrupted by two ads from KZread and when I finally get back to the video... You read an ad for calm. Why am I spending more time being sold things rather than actually absorbing new content?
Thanks, Joshua - for the tech and the tea.
I agree! Taking a break is very important. Off the subject. What is the brand name of your eyeglass frames? They look Boss! 7:39
If my S20+ 's battery isn't dying ... I wouldn't have ordered a new phone. Anyway, still look forward to receiving my s23 ultra.
Rocking mine to and it don't stop rocking
I can't live without my Spen. I use it every day, taking notes and stuff. F.eks using a dual layout with notes and a calculator. So useful. Also writing with swipe using the spen. Surfing the web using it so the thum s don't hide information.
I was just watching abroad in japan before this review lol. Awesome video
