@@MikeOBrienMedia Spending 1400$ on a phone isn't good idea, even if you're rich. At the end its all about materials and specs. I hate camera reviews on phones. Cause if you can spend 1000$ on a phone, buy a real DSLR camera. Smartphones can never replace true DSLR cameras.

I do not really care about the headphone jack to be honest. I never charged my phone and listened to music at the same time. I wish they gave at least the Plus the crazy zoom. But I feel like even the "normal"phone is the jack of all trades. You get everything that is available on the market right now. No cost cuts anywhere on the phone. I do not see why everyone compares the Ultra to the IPhone 11Pro, this Phone is comparable with that phone ez, and beats it in my humble opinion.

for those who actually used ultrasonic and optical as daily, its a bit of a headache (for a number of reasons) relative to the cheaper....faster....more responsive...better positioned side/rear capacitive FPR sensors

I just upgraded from my S10+ and the S20+ definitely has a slightly faster fingerpring sensor. Im experiencing next to no lag compared to the S10

I'm definitely getting the regular S20. To me it's a considerable upgrade to my S10+. I want a smaller device as well. So this fits the ticket. Gonna swap em.

Definitely the perfect phone for you then. Phones keep getting bigger, but there is definitely something nice about a smaller phone. It is easier to hold and navigate with one finger, fits more nicely in pockets, and always fits in the car phone holders haha

@@urekmazino6800 oh definitely....I mean....for this little guy to have 4,000 mAh and 12 Gigs of RAM is crazy....SD 865, still DEX capable.....smh....I think the S20 is the only S Series device actually worth the price tag. No offense to the people getting the 20+ or the 20 Ultra....but that's just my opinion.

This was my exact reasoning to switch from s10+. It's day 2 and I'm loving the size of the s20. It's considerably slimmer. What happened though is the aspect ration changed just a much and it's a pain in the butt with bigggg black banners on the screen when watching videos not shot for this aspect ration.

You got a new sub from me. You did what a lot of people wanted (not all those S20+/Ultea videos.....) and I think you deserve way more subs. thank you for this great video I'm definitely getting the regular S20 😌

I got my normal S20 in Canada yesterday. I definitely agree with your review so far, but I feel like the smoothness of this 120Hz screen can't be overstated! It's soooo good! I tried switching to QHD+ 60Hz but it just doesn't compare to 120Hz, FHD+ or not.. Also, getting this phone on contract isn't that expensive when you consider the value of the Galaxy Buds+ that they throw into the pre-order! Comes out to $880 CAD over two years if you deduct the price of the Buds+.

Holy thank god subbed to your channel just because your reviewing the s20 and not the ultra...............so sick of the ultra reviews, some people don’t want giant ass phones or care about 100x zoom

Great video and just what I was looking for since I'll be using this as my next personal phone and the phone to film my watch reviews. My S8 has served me well but it's time give it to my son to use and abuse. You didn't go too in-depth and talk about aperture, shutter speed & other crap that 99% of us don't care about. I'm also glad you reviewed the "base" S20 instead of the plus and/or ultra even though as you said this is a $1000.00 phone and there's nothing entry level about it. As a creator myself it takes a lot for someone to earn my sub and you have. Great work brother!

I saw on Samsung official site last week. They lowered it plus they were doing a sale a lot of the s10 were sold out. So something tells me they might of went up..

It was informative, straight to the point, raising things a potential buyer might want to know and on top of that some excellent camera work with excellent video shots of the phone. You've done an excellent job at communicating across what the device looks like and what it's capabilities are, while at the same time remaining unbiased. I realize in the US the regular Galaxy S20 launched only in the G5 version with a price tag of 999 USD, however in the UK we got a cheaper 4G Galaxy S20 at 800 GBP (in USD about the same but hey we always get to pay more). This may be the case in other markets as well, so the only thing I would add in your review is making this comment that in other markets there may be a cheaper option. Other than that, well done for an excellent review. You deserve more subscribers, which I am sure is to come if you keep up this good work. Take care and thanks for seeing something refreshing out there.

Mike O'Brien which one do you think will sell the least, the Plus or Ultra..I would say the plus..either ppl will go cheap and get the regular one or go for broke and go with the ultra..the way phone carries do it now, your leasing the phone so they won’t mind having for awhile

I went to the store today to see it and it looks so cheap and slim for a phone that costs 1000 dollars. It doesn't stand out in any way, it looks like the A51 and I don't want to spend that much money on a phone that looks like a midranger. I love how the iphone's back stands out, there's no mistaking it. Also this was my first time seeing a 120 hz display IRL and frankly it's not some groundbreaking feature as most reviewers made me believe it is, hell I had to switch between 60 and 120 hz multiple times just to notice that tiny difference when scrolling slowly because if you're scrolling fast they look the same. So the S20 offers nothing more than the S10 except there's no mistaking the S10 for a midranger from the back😂

This is something me and my friends have been talking around for a while🤣🤣 and more than 60hz on mobiles is bullshit only the ui is capable of giving 120fps everything else is 60

Great video. Nice to see a review of the standard S20. It's annoying that here in the UK we get lumbered with the Exynos processor, and you get more colours in the US! Here we've only got the blue and the pink and the grey in the standard S20. I think it sucks that our market gets less colours and throttled performance, Samsung really ought to consider some continuity with their phones, Apple release the same spec phone over all the markets, can't see why Samsung can't. My experience with the Note 10 was lousy, I've pre ordered the pink S20 and I'm hoping it's significantly better!

Yeah finally a S20 video. I was waiting for it for the battery life review! Good news I guess but my question is do you tried with 60 hz and 120hz? How much does it impact the battery?

I just switched from the One Plus 7 Pro about a month. I absolutely love the size, software and IP rating and W charging. It's an amazing phone!

@@joeyross1960 Yup, it's a really good phone...had it for over 3 years now. Would be almost 4 by the time the S21 comes out. Just lately it's been draining quicker and charging slower so in several months it's def time for a change.

Love the compact size, finally a top-end mid-size phone. (6.2", about the same feel and width as the iPhone 8 at 4.7')

To be clear, the two more expensive models have this as well as mm wave. The longer range of low frequency 5G is certainly very beneficial. Depending on which carrier you have, it also might be your only option

I'm debating on whether to get the s20 or the plus variant. Went and saw both of them in store a few days ago, I felt that the regular s20's screen was slightly on the smaller size especially considering its tall aspect ratio which means watching content with black bars, thus the extra screen size on the plus would definitely be nice. I also found the s20 to be too light in weight imo, I like when a phone feels a bit heavy, it gives a premium feeling. Btw, an advantage for the s20 over the plus is that when you have both phones in 120hz mode the regular model is sharper at 1080p due to the smaller screen (higher pixel density)

Please need a quick answer cause I'm gonna choose between s20 s20 plus today can you drag down the features in the camera here like the s20 plus can

Mike just to say I just subscribed but not because of your Samsung review. I disagree with what you're saying as there is no way this phone is worth that kind of money. Everything else then follows. However, have i enjoyed your presentations around watches. ABSOLUTLY. Further I like the way you present. You have one of the nicest presentation styles I've seen. Clear and humble; smart and good analysis (except for the phones) you're style of presentation is very enjoyable. You'd make a very good news guy.
