I just got this device for a gift and I had some questions about it. So to confirm there is no way to use a pen or like to be able to do digital art on it without needing like a table to project to or like a drawing pad to attach via USB?

Thanks for this review! Very helpful because there is still little info around about the new entry level spec. I pondered back and forth between this one, the Book 4 360, and some of the competitors. Luckily my local store had a standard Galaxy Book 4 as a demo unit, so I could take a look. It‘s nice but it isn‘t WOW. Ended up ordering an Acer Swift Go 14 OLED instead.

I got the Galaxy Book 4 with the Intel Core 7 150U, 16GB Ram, 512GB SSD and NVIDIA MX570 4GB for my new full stack k development job in Korea. But I also chose the Nvidia version because I am doing some light machine learning apps as a hobby and do some gaming on it (mainly Minecraft, Valorant and LoL), but I also got a Sabrent 8TB M.2 to fill the other slot and this laptop for my workflow is a beast. I love it a lot!

Solid review my G. The title is right, it was the "fogotten" one, like the big chin makes it look a little outdated, and i was hoping Samsung would've done something about the amount of unremovable bloatware they force on us, it can sometimes ruin the experience, especially if you own devices outside of the Samsung eco system, although some may say otherwise

Might I say bravo on this review, you delivered on all points. Was exactly what I was wanting to see. I just went out and purchased the Samsung Galaxy Book4 with 16 GB Ram and 512 SSD for $650.00 at Beast Buy on sale. First windows laptop I’ve actually owned in away, couldn’t decide between this and an HP touch screen model for around the same price. In your opinion which processor is better, Intel 12 Gen Core i7 or Intel Core 7 Series 1?

Go for the Book 3 Pro 14 if it fits into your budget. The most important difference is the AMOLED display of the Pro - definitely the one ‚premium’ feature you will notice every day. Also, it has Thunderbolt ports. And a bigger battery capacity. And it has a considerably lower weight. I consider the 16:10 screen aspect ratio an advantage as well (standard book 4 has 16:9), but that‘s down to your personal preference.

Hey, how do I decide if I want to go with the 5th gen or the 7th gen core? Is there really much of a difference between them if I get 16gb ram? Would really be a great help if you answer

If you perform tasks that require high processing power, then a Core i7 is more suitable for you. This could be video editing, 3D rendering, machine learning algorithms or processing large datasets, for example. For standard use such as office, streaming or browsing, any i5 is absolutely sufficient. It‘s not ‚generations’ by the way, just names for different levels within their range. i5 is mid range while i7 is higher performance.

This or the acer Swift go 14, it's Evo certified and core ultra 5 processor. I have heard bad things about Acer?

Could you do a video on a mechanical keyboard called the th66 from epomaker.

This is Samsung's mid-range offering, so expecting it to be as feature-packed as the "Pro" models is a stretch. Due to Intel's restrictions on RAM (16GB minimum), Samsung cannot offer the Pro model at a price for those that cannot afford £1600, which is the vast majority of the world market. Apple's success with MB Air is due to its ability to offer a base starting price of £1100, which makes up >60% of its air sales. So, a mid-range 8GB offering is left to their mid-range devices. Despite the flexing Apple gets for 8GB base models, nearly all Windows premium brands, including Dell and the Surface line, do the same thing. Still, we rarely see reviews of these as most reviewers are sent higher configurations. For the UK, the base is £950 for the 2024 Core 7 with 8GB/512GB, which is reasonable if at the higher end of the mid-range. However, it does not have OLED, 120Hz, or ARC Graphics. £150 more for the 16GB and the MX570. In the UK, that competes well with rival mid-range 16GB/512GB models, though there is no option for ARC Graphics of OLED/120Hz. You need £1600 for that privilege, which blocks many of us from the market. Ideally, I would have easily bought an 8GB/256GB Galaxy Book4 Pro for £1200; they had that option last year, but instead, I went with a base MB Air M3 for £1000 (which was on sale at Amazon). I do not need more than this config as I use it mainly as a Chromebook-like workflow. So wasting £400 extra on specs, which I would never need, is dumb and unaffordable. But I want a premium product for the next 5-7 years.

Ah, so what do you suggest I do for multi use? This KZreadr said in his review the book 4 is not reliable when it comes to the RGB. I need a laptop with exceptional, if not better, display. Photo/video editing and gaming... Just without sacrificing money haha

The Ideapad Slim 3 is likely the cheaper option and will give you more bang for buck. The GB4 does feel more premium thanks for a higher quality exterior.

I preferred the materials, display, battery life and cpu/graphics, however at full price (1200€)I would have definitely chosen the Lenovo (699€)

In the case of a dispute between my configuration and the vendor site for your region, always assume the vendor's spec sheet is correct. With that said just be sure that its referring to the GB4 and not the GB4 Pro (or higher).

Only one Samsung mistake, the WiFi 7 support ( the deal-breaker)

Huh? 8GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 6, and FHD on a 15-inch laptop in 2024. Not even worth looking its way at a Best Buy store. With Asus ZenBook 14 costing less than $1,300 USD and with 3.5k OLED screen, the competition makes the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 look worthless. Might as well give it away for charity. Even the 2023 version of Asus ZenBook 14X (without a dedicated GPU) costs less than $900 USD, and still includes 3.5k OLED screen & 120 hz refresh rate. Add on 16GB of DDR5 RAM.

@@SoulOfTech I think samsung is stuck in upsellception, if you need 32GB you have to spend over 3K euros for the so called ultra, which doesnt even have the premium features of other brands, plus there is no justifying an 8gb model at all. They are stuck in the past it seems
