I've blasted the back cover for like five minutes with a hot air gun. Nada. I can't get it to budge. If I go for say ten minutes, what are the chances the adhesive will loosen enough to get sufficient leverage to insert a wedge? I'm afraid of broiling the brains out of the device, but I also have a replacement phone so I don't mind being more aggressive if that's the recommendation. Update: I started using a very sharp paring knife to lever open a corner. And, done. Thank you. This was massively helpful.

Ok, so here's an idea. If one doesn't have that heating pad nor a heat gun, if one has a 3D printer with heated bed, one could just put the phone on that, with perhaps a paper towel or very thin cloth, like a J-Cloth under it, then go into the menus of the 3D printer and start heating up the bed. However, shouldn't it be heated from the back and not the front? The LCD is on the front and heating that CAN destroy it. Every other video I've seen, they always heat the back cover, since that's whats going to be removed first. ❓❓

In this model, you need to open it from the rear panel, most Samsung phones are like that. It should be fine, but can you control the heating? go with 50c for 1 minute and then add as you want. but do not leave it for a long time. Needs time and patients.

He didn't put in a NEW battery. For this demonstration, he just took out the old battery, then put 2 strips of double-sided tape on it and put it back in. You can see the date stamp and serial number of the battery. It doesn't change. As well, when he prepare the batter to put it back in, you can clearly see the old glue markings that match the inside of the phone. 😉😁
