From what i heard that they uses different Screen tech(yes both Amoled) screen thats why the cut out differ from one and other

The only video I need to compare both cameras. So I think A51 has warmer tones & A71 has cooler tones. Both have great cameras! Thanks for this great video!!

Still a valuable video one year later as A51 and A71 are still in demand. While I'd appreciate the better camera function of the A71, current best prices have the A71 between75% - 100% more expensive ($200 vs. $250-400.) I can't see paying that premium for the improvements, especially since most of them could be addressed in post process if worthwhile. Not that they could completely correct for lost detail that's never recorded.

In videos the A51 always seems to be focus hunting and jump sing around compared to other cams

I tried A71 and A51 selfie cam yesterday at the store, in the A71 I looked grey and in the A51 I looked like my brown self so I will chose A51. The detail in A71 is better but I don't want a good 2 years of my photo memories looking like I was grey lol I miss walking around Vegas.

It seemed to me that the A71 was generally better indoors, more natural and a little cleaner. Outdoors there were a few where the A51 seemed to throw heavy colours in. The problem is, we don't know what the colours looked like other than the images, so it's impossible to know which phone is being the more accurate. Hope that makes sense. ATB MMMD

Great vid! It looks to me that in most cases the 71 is a bit better with details. I have a Samsung A8 right now and the biggest irritation for me is that it seems to overexpose everything. If I want to take a shot of a sunset with lots of subtle colours, forget it. The colours just don't show up very well no matter how much tweaking I try. How are these cameras with things like sunrise/set and moon shots?

Soooo Basically Both phones have the Same EYES but the A71 has better GLASSES to see out of. Resulting in better images. I get it 🙌🏿

If you use your brain harder, it is not worth to spend $150 more on the A71 with such little difference when you can achieve perfect results if you know how to edit photos.

I think the front cam of the A 71 is a wide angle cam.

I liked the snap photo on the first image on the A51, it's a bit brighter in shadows and color, but that's not something I would worry about because I use apps like the mobile photoshop to brighten dark areas and such

What you have trouble describing in the first comparison is dynamic range. The A71 has better dynamic range than the A51. Seems to me like a 1.5 - 2 Stop difference. And you're correct in the assumption that it's due to the processing power. You can have vastly different results in photos with the same sensor but different processor. And your second issue with the selfi camera: a camera consists of two things, a sensor and a lens. The A71 looks to have bigger lens design that the A51. You can have the same spec for a lens, but one came be a lot bigger than the other by having more elements in it. Also I wanted to know about the Pro Mode in video. And you didn't cover video at all.

Exposure and lightning can be changed in the settings. Both have solid detail

I was thinking of A51 but when I saw which chip it has, I'm now thinking of saving further and going for A71

Have you tried using them to record a video during a concert where there are loud screams and noises? Which one do you think will do a better job in noise reduction so that the sound in the videos will not be (idk the exact term) cracked? Disturbed? Especially when someone is shouting or screaming. What scares me here is the Exynos processor in the A51 without forgetting the GPU.

I do think that the HDR in some of the day ligh shots using the a51 was better than a71, the only thing that bothers me is the exynos chip set

A71 for video (more stable), A51 for pictures( I like the colors better) All could probably be solved in the settings.

Actually the frontal cam from the a71 looks more natural and responds like a healthy sensor should, the a51's front cam sensor pushes the blacks way too much that makes the face flat and washed out and that's exactly what i hate about smartphones these days, if you're coming from a video-making background you'll understand. great effort on the videos keep it up

Nice. If you didn't have both phones to compare you would accept either. There is subtle differences. From a production line point of view the machines building these parts (lenses/diaphragms) have a limited, depreciating life of acceptability. The first stage of product will go to the higher end and the following stages the parts perfection diminishes but still within acceptable. This is where same specs produce slightly different results. Also different teams may be working on software and have budget constraints often borrowing from each other when difficulties arise. From there production managers are building a phone to a cost level where extra expenses are forbidden so as not to undermine the higher priced phone. Inside information.

A71 even had better audio on the video samples. Also post editing can correct tone, saturation and exposure but the added detail is the real advantage...

True! I know a lot of people don’t care about color & lighting since it can be easily altered, but true detail is definitely lost with the A51 and that can’t really be changed.

I came to watch this video because yesterday I bought the A71 expecting a good performance. It will arrive by monday. Thank you for the review.

The difference is in the image processing pipeline. They have different image processors for the respective sensors. I guess Samsung doesn't specifically tune their image processing for the different processors.

Your review was very helpful. I actually don't like when the picture is too bright and think the A51 looks more natural but I really wish it had the A71's detail level. I really wanted to buy the A71 but it doesn't have the NFC feature but the A51 does so I'm really torn atm

I’ll definitely go over the speaker in my full review, but as far as I can tell there is no difference between the 2 phones. They each have 1 single speaker at the bottom of the phone and while they do incorporate Dolby Atmos, there’s nothing too amazing. They’re plenty loud, a little tiny but definitely not the stereo experience of a flagship.

Wait, do you use a Gcam? How do you take such good pictures? It doesn't look like the same A51 that I have 😳

please compare a71 vs pixel 3a. There are no camera comparison between these 2 phone anywhere. Price and spec wise they are quite similar except for the look of-course. It will be interesting to know how far pixel camera is ahead of A71.

Sorry for asking on an old video, what's the difference between the international version of the A51 and the US version? I'm in the US so I assume the US version would be better for me, but the international model is ~$100 cheaper.
