I fixed my A5 exactly according these instructions. It took me roughly 1.5 hours and it was quite easy. It's working perfectly. You can use an normal hairdryer - no problem. Many thanks for this video! Well done.

Its not the glass shattering you have to worry about, its hand slipping and slicing it open. Its a pretty serious violation of workplace health and safety code here...

Do you have to remove the back cover? Where do you source your spare parts.

Zell Kahn any waterproof glue should do the trick if you watch out to not spill the glue on the motherboard or other components

7:07 I didn't pull off the blue plastic foil, because mine was smaller. Is this a problem (maybe in the future)? The screen itself works fine

I must say this was one of the more durable phones I have had. I dropped it a few times one time it got a big crack down the middle was pissed but no worries it still worked. Second big drop it took a chunk out the glass in the corner, third big drop the same happened in another corner but everything still worked. Other night it finally had enough, I spilt a bit of beer on it. Slowly the screen started to go black, obviously beer had got through the cracks. Now I am trying to recover my contacts and lucky enough my finger print can unlock it still. I have had top range phones that have broke with less. I am thinking of just paying Samsung the 100 to fix it instead of buying a new phone. Trouble is I stupidly tried to dry it with a hair dryer and the touch stopped working, so maybe I have damaged it more?

I did replace as per your instruction. For some reason the swipe (touch screen) do not work anymore after few days. It was working at the initial LCD replacement. Then I did replace the LCD with another one brand new, same issue, the display is OK, but swipe not work. I believe is some phone connector, any idea?

I have the galaxy a3 2017. And my father dropped his A5 2017 and the screen was bleeding and eventually turned black. So he just bought himself another phone and gave me his broken A5 and said that of I could fix it that I can have the phone. So I hope this tutorial works. @@blind1337nedm Do you perhaps have a pop-socket? One of those things that you put on the back of the phone for better grip. They are attached using glue. Those would work even with shattered glass. They're not designed to remove the glassback, but they work because the glue on pop-sockets is strong and doesnt leave residues. I have also used a hair dryer to soften the glue under the glassback

From Samsung :) Well, find nearest reputable mobile phone repair service with online shop. They usually sell original replacement screens too. I got mine from electronic shop in my city who ship original phone parts to phone repair services here. Be very cautious in eBay. Many sellers ship counterfeit screens labeled as originals. Fell on this two times earlier.

I was following video but it doesn't work,because the connector is not fitting perfectly in to motherboard. Therefore you should say test the LCD screen before gluing with body.

Roby Gala no. Once a device is opened for repair (even if by the manufacturer) it will lose any water resistance. The only way it is certified is when it is produced via the original manufacturing process.
