A few phones are still made with a battery easily replaceable by users, but those models are getting fewer.

Instead of struggling with that flimsy bit of wat looks like film negative I used a piece of thin fishing line and like a cheese wire use it to cut the glue under the battery. Much easier and not as cumbersome

No cellphone should have permanent glued battery. that should be illegal. Pull tabs cost like 5 cents per phone, and it really help avoid accidents and batteries exploding.

all phone companies need to tell customers the exact difficulties as when changing from one phone to another RATHER then just saying "OH we have the A10e next in line after the galaxy J3" !! Ive been with my phone company for many many years and they should have a LAMAZE CLASS for the introduction ease of our next phone (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)

This is so annoying. They do everything in order to embrace obsolescence: consume, consume, consume! Why can't they simply make replacable batteries like 5-8 years ago. Am still trying to find a phone like that. What a nonsense. Thumping environment protection and producing stuff like this!

Take a look at Fairphone 3. I haven't used it myself, but it will probably be the next purchase. The idea is to make most parts easily replaceable and use more ethical production methods.

They made it so hard to change out the battery so you would (1) have to take it in to be replaced or (2) buy a new phone. Either way they are making money. They don't make any money if you can change your own battery.

Well that's one job I'm not going to attempt!

When I did phone repair we always used a heat gun to soften the adhesive. Just don't point it at the lcd directly, heat from the back.

just for info .... NEVER put heat to a lithium ion battery .... and when removing the battery he is taking his time because if he bends it too much it can short out ... if that happens then your whole phone is toast .... maybe your house too ....

Samsung a10 is my phone and i loved it for 1year its almost 2yrs

I did this exactly like this and the battery didn't work, or more correctly it responded when put on charger, but then- nothing. the screen is almost black and I wonder if the the battery has to charge for very long if it is "old" from store, can you comment on this please?

Good thing the maker used "booger glue" for that battery. Epoxy might have been a bear to remove.

After watching this video, I am sorry I have the same model phone. It looks like it has a bad design. I ordered a spare battery online. It came with the screwdrivers too. However, I could not open the back cover. I was afraid that I would crack the cover or the screen. It should have been designed easy to replace the battery. I decided not to change it. Maybe I take it to a specialist to do it for me.

At 2:21 that cools like bad idea

Hopefully when I upgrade, the battery will be easier to replace then this.

No because there are already 2 yellow strips holding it in place and the phone backing that is nearly impossible to tear off. Not necessary at all.

Most makers do this to shave a few pennies off manufacturing cost. It also makes repair more difficult, increasing the probability the user will just buy a new (profitable) phone. It's called planned obsolescence.
