Sample based beatmaking on MPC Key 37!

We're all waiting for an official release of the MPC Stems functionality and I thought this could be a good time to show you guys my sampling and beat making process on the MPC Key 37 with the pre-release version of MPC Stems.
I recorded a sample, took out the drums, the bass and the vocals. Chopped up the strings and the electric piano, flipped it, added drums, bass and some scratch and I'm pretty happy with the result.

Stems seems to be working fine for all the producers who have been given early access to it. So I'm wondering what the hold up is for the rest of us. The official web page states that it will be released in March. It's looking like Akai is waiting until the last day of the month to release it to the general public, if it isn't pushed back beyond March.

Yeah, the Z2 is in really bad shape though. I took apart and fixed the crossfader but it’s not perfect. Looking for alternatives. Bend? What’s bend?

What's up with running MPC software while the device not being in controller mode? Is that one of the upcoming firmware features?

The device is in controller mode though. The prerelease version of MPC Stems is only for the computer software.

Im trying to figure out how to sample into my 37 are you running your turntable into it via usb and audio interface?

I'm running the turntable into a dj mixer, then through my audio interface and out to the MP. A "normal" turntable needs to be amplified before hooked ump to the line-inputs

Still love it. The number of new button combinations isn’t always super intuitive but the SP is still one of my favorites!

How is the MPC software compared to maschine?

It’s different in many ways. The MPC software is more of an actual DAW than Maschine is. It’s also a bit more difficult to learn. NI needs to make some improvements in the standalone version of Maschine… I’d say Akai has the clear upper hand nowadays

Another demonstration of "our" brilliant friend... Technology without knowledge, experience, passion and art is useless. I can say this because I have an MPC 37 and I'm already struggling to find the button to turn it on.....🤔😁

Nothing like lying to your customers about stem separation coming in Feb and March and us having to watch the content creators use it. Smh Akai is being run by a poor marketing team

What’s the point? You have serato and multiple free options to use it, it seems like they’re making it best as possible, it takes some time, marketing is even better because you’re so angry with it 😄
Strange that you threw away the good ideas and keep the lesser ones. In most cases what you played but didn't use was better sounding than what you decided to keep.
