@@shylascheffler8381 Technically you're right but it still is painful. When they go into heat, the vulva becomes swollen and can leave spots of blood. So it is similar to period as in it hurts like hell. Also women have menstruation cycle whereas dogs have an estrus cycle. You may have already known this but it could be useful for anyone else scrolling through.

All gym and PE teachers who say that girls are just imagining all their discomfort, or bringing it on themselves by self-pity ought to watch this video.

Nel It literally is a period, though. It’s part of the estrous cycle, and it has similar symptoms and discomfort, so it’s not inaccurate or inappropriate to call it a period.

Well that would be one very very lucky woman and I'd do anything for a man like him. I wish I lived closer.lol but even his animals are the best too and look so happy and they are sooo lucky to have him in their lives. It’s anxiety, not pain. When they are “menstruating” or better said, heat, their biology is telling them that it is time to get pregnant and they do want to mate. They are much more vocal during heat because they are trying to get attention from other dogs who can mate with them. Like a mating call!

After some arbitrary google searches, it seems like some dogs *might* experience some very mild discomfort or pain, besides just emotional. It wouldn't be the same menstrual pain humans get, but I think he knows that too and it was a translation error, since he was getting hid info from a vet. A female dog will swell and become hypersensitive, so she could feel pain from overstimulation too. It doesn't seem like its common for dogs to be be in pain during their heat, but it seems it is possible. I think he was right when he hypothesized she wasn't used to this sort of pain, and thus it was worse for her.

Our Midwest Journal so for humans we get cramps because the uterus is contracting to get rid of the accumulated endometrial lining. Dogs uterus’ do not collect this lining so they don’t suffer through cramps like women do. We seem to be the unluckiest when it comes to periods and period pain 😩 the passage of blood for dogs is just cells that come along with hormones that they release (which is why they have increased urination to leave their “scent” for males). Anyhow, I think maybe the most pain or discomfort dogs might feel is from their vulva being so swollen. Also, if anyone has a dog in heat I know the bleeding gets everywhere and it’s kind of gross and annoying so if you do choose to put a diaper on the dog make sure to change it often because they can get major UTI’s from them not being to lick their blood off so that bacteria can make it’s way into their tract.

Dogs don’t actually feel pain or period cramps since they don’t shed their uterine lining like humans do unless they get pregnant! So your dog is not in any pain during its period theyre probably in heat :)

@@aureas when the dog goes into estrus ("heat") she bleeds. Also her vulva swells largely to naturally accommodate the male for reproduction. The pup in the video knows this is happening to her, but since it's her first estrus, she doesn't understand the smell, or how she feels & is anxious. Uncomfortable? Yes. Pain? no. Me? I have studied Canine behavior for 50 years; I know a few things...💅

Abigail Chaiyasate I’ve had the same thing before, though I’m not sure if it’s normal nor am I saying the same thing will happen to you but as periods passed by I started to experience more pain and mood swings so I’d be aware of that just in case, not certain that you would experience the same since everyone is different :))

I really do start to wonder...if someone’s child and your dog fell into a river and were both about to go over the waterfall and you could only choose one to save, which one would you choose? To me a dogs life is no where comparable or equal to a humans. Though I am kind to dogs and would never purposely torture or mistreat a dog, I would value a child’s life more than my my dogs life.

Moca Chii according to my friend which happened to be a vet, yes cats get periods too. But usually the blood amount is so little that the blood disappear because they groom (lick) it before drops into the floor.

Claudia • Your friend doesn't need to be a vet, then. Cats are basically in a constant heat cycle which is why they can get pregnant at basically any time. Also, female cats generally don't want to mate so the males force themselves onto them (and male cats have barbed penises).

Like my cramps are very painful for like 1-3 days (dull pain, kinda sharp pain, it's 50/50) then they chill, but I still get leg cramps afterwards- so idk lol :')

Danchu and Taegi are me and my friend Matt in real life except the opposite way around.

The only people who dance,enjoy and play on their periods is the girls in menstrual pad ads and no one else😂😂 EDIT:But..just loved Danchu a lot...she is sweet ,cuddly ,playful and courageous..I wish I had a pet like her... Lots of love sweetheart 😘😘😘😘

I always wondered how they jump on trampolines and be that happy while their body is literally leaking. I can barely even sleep for a week personally. I used to never get cramps and after my son(2nd born) now i get cramps often some times a week or 2 before the leaking even begins

Curling up on the bed with warm pack on the belly all day long and eating your favourite snacks (and warm chicken soup) was heaven. One positive side from this quarantine, I now have free time for that ^^

@@black_forest_ we arent fertile at the time of menstration so women arent typically horny during that time(although I notice I am right before and as its about to end) the strongest sense of arrousal comes around the time of ovulation which is a week or 2 after your period ends. The need for emotional comfort is probbaly because of the pain/discomfort...we want someone to comfort us in that time. Dogs are fertile during heat, humans arent fertile during menstration.

@@vianjelos Hm. I am turned on right before my period, all the way through the period, after my period, throughout ovulation and a few days after ovulating. Then I calm down till my next period😂😂😂

She's mostly crying due to being anxious. They will be very anxious, go off their food and change their normal behavior for a while. Giving them extra love and attention helps a lot. She's a beautiful dog!

I never knew dogs could have periods but oh I feel so bad for her because she can't have what is him girls use: chocolate, wine: ice packs or hot packs. Poor girl

@@gints2766 if you're going to try and spread information do some research before spreading what you believe to be correct. Dogs have heats aka an estrus cycle. Not a menstrual cycle. A female dog will bleed at the very beginning of a heat but its not due to her ovulating, its due to the swelling her body has. Most mammals reabsorb the blood and eggs in the uterus rather than discharging them.

@@doublea8462 mine use to last more than a week and I don't bleed, I hemorrhage. Which were excruciating. Luckily my little IUD friend came along and fucking ban this horrendous beast for 5 years. Zero periods. Hardly any pain. It's amazinggggggggggg 🙃

@바다공주 처음에는 그렇지만 시간이 지나면서 동물도 생리에 익숙해져요 그리고 생리기간에는 안 건드리는게 좋아요. 밥을 잘 안먹어도 생리양이 줄어들면 밥을 잘먹으니 각정하지마세요(나름번역)
