    @@patricklee4316 now the league average is Clemens personal K/9. 8.7 That sucks. Velocity has suffocated baseball in an unfortunate way. Not enough balls put in play. Averages too low. And hitters just don't care about striking out.

    I was never a baseball fan but I would’ve loved to grow up watching baseball around this time. Late 90s/early 00s. So many larger than life (literally) figures and players in general had more of an edge to them.

    Where does time go? I remember watching this series when my parents moved out to the countryside in Kentucky. Pretty sure it was a cool Saturday afternoon. I was nervous bc if IIRC, the Yankees were STACKED and pretty dominant (per usual) and the Cubs were stinking it up. *Per usual.

    I was at this game. Hee Sop Choi crashed into Kerry Wood. Laid out for 15 minutes? My friend let the ambulance onto the field and another buddy was a White Sox fan-fireman who took him to the hospital. Next game was Mark Prior vs. Jon Wettland*. Clemons was going for win #300.

    I remember being shocked when Clemens started Sosa off at 96 mph at 0:34 and 99 at 0:51 because he had declined to a max of 94-95 mph by 2003 almost every start. It doesn't even make sense now as this doesn't fit his roids/HGH timeline and gains wouldn't only last one start. I can only assume he reached back for everything facing Sosa while going for 300.

    I remember this game well.. I was shocked also when clemens threw 99 to sosa.. To me he just reached back and threw as hard as he could to sosa.. Sosa as a rookie hit his first mlb homerun off of clemens. Roger wanted some pay back

    Just think about this if you dare. A roided Clemens has a monster year in 2001 going 20-3 and costs the Mariners a trip to the WS. Goes 18-4 in 2005 and costs the Cardinals a trip to the WS. Both time his teams lost in the world series. Rightfully so and the way it should have happened.

The Mariners choked liked they always did in the playoffs Won 116 in a bad division and needed someone to blame. And Clemens was 13-8 in 2005
