I don’t know about that, in my humble opinion I just don’t see Satriani as a good fit. He is an amazing, amazing guitarist but he just doesn’t fit. I just think if they could cut all the bullshit and just get Wolfgang and Alex in the mix it would be a blockbuster tour and hopefully album.

Joe will do great this summer. Neither Wolf on guitar (busy with his band) or Alex on drums (he only played with Ed) will ever happen with Sammy and Mikey.

It’s good to hear them. Still putting out the killer Van Halen tunes. Sammy still sounds pretty damn good Michael anthony phenomenal as always. Man do I fucking miss Eddy. Nobody can duplicate his playing.

This guy was pretty much like the "house" guitarist for most of the songs at this party. And remember this is a party not a choreographed concert. Brent is a fantastic guitarist. One of the last students of Randy Rhoads and he also recorded his first album at the 5150 studio' w/ Ed. Not to many guitarists can say either of those.. He's also the one that got the Rhoads blessing to do the Randy Rhoads Remembered tribute shows from the Rhoads family. He's been around.. Is he Ed? No, is he Randy No.. He's Brent. get over it.

@@mooch514 so what.. Again this is a party, and Brent always plays a Les Paul. He replaced Steve Stevens and he played a Les Paul then too. People like what they like. But again, he wasn't trying to be Eddie, This was just guys getting together at a party and jamming. Why so critical?

Richie Kotzen is a great guitarist, but he nor the master Satch can do that brown sound quite like Ed. EVH was GOAT.

Kenny didn't sound right filling in for Chad in Chickenfoot, either. Chad has more of a funk feel which Kenny couldn't copy.

He was never gonna play again for anybody. His son is the one that saved his life and he decided to play with his son and do tours and make a album get the facts

Except for that time Sammy wrote all about Ed’s addictions and problems to try and sell more of his books - a real true friend -always about the $$$- another reason why he’s cashing in on the VH era he did for this tour - I absolutely get why Alex wants nothing to do with Sammy for any tribute stuff because he knows it’s BS just like Dave who responded and Sammy changed his offer l o l

Eddie Van Halen also gave an average bass player a spot in the greatest band on the fuckin Earth. You'll never hear Michael say a bad word about EVH because he understands how lucky he is.

This goes to show the sound of VH is EVH cuz this guy has nothing on the real song.

If you cover VH song, you should learn the guitar part well. That's the most important aspect of the song. The guitarist has no shame

Everytime I hear Portney with Mikey, I wish he could replace Jason Bonham who lacks the groove needed to do this tour with Sammy, Mikey and Satch. Portney would be perfect, he has the swing and groove that Jason lacks and Alex has.
