Is there anyone who doesnt think that Michael Anthony isnt the type of guy who has so much gratitude for what he was able to be a part of. He just seems to always be just having a great time and taking in the moment. Love this tribute and remembrance of the VH years with Sammy!

He’s always been more humble for a “rockstar”. Especially considering he was in one of the best bands ever. So much so that I named my son Michael Anthony.😊

Well when it comes to Michael Anthony playing Van Halen's music he sold all his rights last year he was in the band he was considered a Hired Gun and when it comes to be humble ask him the last time he talked to Eddie Van Halen or Alex we all know who wrote most of those bass lines this should be called the Grab Money tour do you think they got anybody's blessings on this circus basically Hired Guns rip Eddie Van Halen enjoy retirement Alex rip it up Wolfie and Dave is just Dave but I guarantee they have no respect for Sammy the ringleader pass yourself how much money is going to any kind of Charity or benefit best of all worlds and don't say they're doing it for the fans we don't need another Van Halen tribute band I'm so disappointed in Jason disappointed in Joe you had nothing to do with this music take all this effort and ride a hit song stop living off the Van Halen brother's name stay out of Alex Van Halen's wallet what happened to respect honor I can't imagine Ed watching this celebration the MoneyGram sad and they're playing jump ain't talkin about love in Panama a joke Sammy I don't know how you can look yourself in the mirror

@@sonofgunsonofagun2432 Van Helen’s best years financially and hit-wise was during the Hagar years. It’s ok to be disappointed that EVH is gone and Van Halen is no more, but it says a lot about the bitterness in your heart as a fan that you make such accusations. Why not enjoy the fact that live music played and sang by real musicians is still relevant and drawing crowds? It’s a great way to honor your fallen hero. Even Hagar and Michael Anthony miss Eddie and Alex and have said it repeatedly. They miss the good times before some snakes in management came in and screwed everything up. If they can honor Van Halen, can you?

@@sonofgunsonofagun2432but you forgot to mention that Wolfe had to show Ed how to play his own guitar parts so they could tour. Here's a fun idea, you're gonna love it, go buy a guitar and try to play like Ed, Satch or hell even Sammy. This is not a money grab, this is 4 guys showing love for their friend and musical icon. Satch spent his entire life trying to sound like himself. He does this and the Experience Hendrix shows to show his love for the artist who came before him. Sammy was famous before VH, made the brothers a butt load of money while they were trying to self destruct and went on to make a buttload of money after without them, while donating financial aid to local food banks in every city they play in. Read more, comment less.

Mikey again shows 'why' his backing vocals will forever remain a critical part of the VH sound. It will forever sadden me the way he was treated - and I do not have any 'insight' into the specific reasons 'why' Mikey was replaced - but I 'do' know Mikey is a genuinely nice bloke who is so often overlooked when discussing VH - he to me will always be one of 'the' critical drivers of the VH sound.

Lol he’s not trying to be a VH clone at all whatsoever, he’s being himself and it shows with the approach he’s taken on other songs. A EVH clone would be up there with 5153 amps and evh guitars regurgitating everything note for note like a computer.

They're playing a whole tone down to help Sammy, which he's been doing a while for songs like Poundcake. On one hand that changes the guitar sound too much, however, I like the original vocal melodies retained by doing that. I mean, I'd love to hear AC/DC play Thunderstruck like that and hear Brain sing it the old way.

Agreed! Like Zep did in their 2007 reunion show...Stairway was in Gm instead of Am...I much prefer bands dropping the key of any given song to accomodate an older singer's voice. Rather than the singer cheating the notes or melody. That being said, I saw Roxy Music a couple years ago and the keys were WAAAAY down to fit Bryan Ferry's current lower voice. It was very subdued and kind of a letdown.

@@TomBVoxman Wow, did they use a dropped-tuning guitar, or transpose? It's tough one because you change the character of a song either way, but on balance I'd rather here the right notes from the singer. Thunderstruck has sounded daft live for years, you can't blame Brian Johnson, the guy is 76!

Joe expressed how he didn't listen to Van Halen in prior times because he didn't want to be influenced in that direction and to maintain his own style. For him to learn Van Halen tunes in the time that he did is phenomenal. Ed obviously came forth with his own unique feel and although one can learn and play Ed's parts it takes a longer time to grab the feeling Ed produced. For some it takes longerthan others to get close.
