Pound for pound--Sammy was the most multi-talented entertainer in history. He could sing, dance, act, do impressions, comedy, etc.--and do them ALL extremely well. Gifted as a young child--he worked harder than the vast majority of them.

I almost fell out of my chair when he did Richard III. Good god! Most good impression are about a 7 or 8/10. Sammy was about a 9.7

One of the most versatile if not THE versatile performers of all-time, bar none!!!

I really love that guy - what an honest interview! There have been very few talents we are lucky enough to have preserved on video who match Sammy Davis Junior, very VERY few. To have that much talent and heart in one tiny-framed person - what a treasure and a gift to those of us lucky enough to have been on the receiving end of some of his performances. One of the best artists ever born.

I just got to say that of all the performers and singers I have heard, Sammy Davis Jr. had the best voice I have heard for a male singer. Englebert Humperdinck is another one who had such a voice but there are not many. Listen to him sing I gotta be me once and you will almost cry. What a talent and what a range with his voice. His dancing was something else too. He was the best.

For those who don't know: Davis lost his left eye in a car accident at age 29 (there was a bullet-shaped horn button on the steering wheel which hit him in the eye and was redesigned by the car company after the accident). His nose was broken multiple times from beatings he endured while in the Army.

​ Jim G Smokers have 5 times more probabilities of developing lung cancer. It's a fact based on simple statistic. Not enough "scientific link" to you? A different story is that the process by which lung cancer is developed isn't fully understood yet, which is what tobacco companies have always used to try to confuse us all.

And he was a talented drummer as well. Surprisingly good.

What an amazing, multi-talented performer; he could do it all. When people were fawning over the dance moves of Michael Jackson, a lot of others brought up Sammy's name.

I think the world today would break his heart. He worked so hard to break down barriers, defeat racism, he was a universalist. Maybe 25 yrs ago we reached peak improvement. At the time of his death 33 yrs ago things were much improved. However the last 10yrs have seen us going backwards. Racism has got much worse again, on both sides but worst coming from elements on the black side. All being stirred up by the loony left, politically correct, WOKE brigade. In the last 5 or 6 yrs in particular the left has become really vicious. If you dare disagree with anything they say you are a right wing fascist . They cannot see that their intolerance is the real fascism. Very sad to see. I guess harmony doesn't suit the vested interests. Yes Sammy would be very sad to see the wreckage today.

Inspiring interview. Today's ' stars ' are not fit to iron Sammy's Shirts. Such a talent. I'm trying to work out how I always knew of his existence in the UK from the early 70s onwards. He must have left an everlasting impression on me from a very early age.

An interviewer's dream, to think Mr Cavett got paid for that. I Could listen to Sammy forever without saying a word, Fantastic.

I loved him, I miss him, and I admired him. Will his like ever come our way again? No. because he was so unique. Such talent is so sparsely seeded in society and Sammy had the gift of entertainment and interaction with his audience. Wait in line at heavens gate to see him again.

Gould never grew as an actor. Usually ok, but often downright bad. Just saw Sammy Davis as a pretend gunfighter on The Rifleman. He did it all.

An incredible performer. Unfortunately, he smoked four packs a day. Sinatra called him “ Smokey the bear”. He started working as a child and didn’t go to school. He was mostly self educated.

Same here I discovered him when I was 17 .at the height of the Brit Rock era and all those great British bands but something about Sammy stood out. Not least that magnificent voice and the way he moved and danced. I have adored him ever since. So many have come and gone but Sam is still here, still great, still loved, all these years since he passed away.. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This was an amazing segment. Both men just clicked and were able to riff off each other effortlessly. I always used to pick Dean as my favorite but as I've seen more and more of his work and appearances, Sammy is my favorite Rat Pack member.

I watched him in an episode of I Dream Of Jeannie only last night. He appeared in many 1960s and 1970s television shows I think. I remember he was in an All In the Family episode. I believed he kissed Archie on the cheek in that.
