Hi Reg, your videos are an inspiration for those that seek a depth of knowledge and genuine enjoyment of the bush. As a late onset hunter I have wasted too many years to become truely proficient however your videos help speed my journey. Many thanks.

Thanks, Greg, I've lived and breathed deer hunting for over 45 years. I thought it was appropriate to pass on some of my experiences through my videos about Sambar deer. So they have a better understanding about the Sambar. Fortunately, I'm still hunting, so the journey still continues. 🤣

Thanks, mate, yeah, l try to give an insight through my experiences how Sambar deer go about their business in their natural habitat. THINK LIKE A DEER! It has been my physhe (mental thinking) how l go about hunting successfully. If it works for you, "stick to it."

Yeah, there's not much happening in my neck of the woods. I have seen a few nice stags at different stages of velvet. Hopefully, there should be some early activity by Apri🙄🤔 The stags aren't showing any interest in the hinds at the moment and I'm seeing a lot of pregnant hinds ready to pop soon.

Hello Reg, I'm a big fan of your videos. Growing up, I shared wonderful hunting experiences with my grandfather, who taught me the ropes of pursuing rabbits and ducks. Since discovering your channel, I've delved into the world of deer hunting, and I wanted to express my gratitude for the wealth of information you share with everyone. If you have any suggestions for deer hunting locations in Victoria, I'd greatly appreciate it. No pressure if you don't, and thanks a bunch for all your assistance, mate!

Hi Michele, There are many areas that Sambar deer inhabit in Victoria. We usually stalked our deer in the Alpine National Park in the 1980s till now. The Wonnangatta-Moroka is a large area, so we would have several areas that we would preferably hunt during those cooler months of the year. Other areas that hold a good populous of deer are Dargo, Licola, Noojee, Corryong, etc. But you may need to access private private property with permission, unless you are hunting in State-land. We loved hunting the High Country because of its beauty and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting around the campfire whilst camping hunting/fishing. I hope this has steered in the right direction? Cheers Reggie 🦌

I'm not that keen to hunt the summer months because your concentration is in two places. Trying to spot deer and watching out for snakes. When l was hunting with the rifle, l would spend most of my time playing golf till it got the cooler weathet. Normally, from April through to October, were my choice months to hunt. Being retired, l don't mind camping in the hot weather, and that's perhaps why enjoy photographing the deer through the summer months now.
