@@ajctrading Well, just as humans, other mammals have very similar mechanisms called senses with which they percieve the world around them. If a cat couldn't tell a difference between an otter and herself, that would make her foolish now, wouldn't it?

The cat thinks the otter is a weird cat and the otter thinks the cat is a weird otter. Friends regardless.

The Bengal cat proper respect Pip the otter. It gave Pip priority to eat from the bowel, these 2 little one's friendship is an absolute gem.

schubi128: we had 2 tabby cats that were mixed with bobcat and they both were really rambunctious like this Bengal cat and otter. Sox was 21 pounds and his little brother Rascal was 28 pounds. Our German Shepherd would chase Sox all through the house for a good 30 minutes and then you'd see Sox chasing her! It was hilarious! They were so much fun to be around too...and smart like a dog. This video reminds me of them. Good times and great memories😂

Paula Johnson no, they're more of a water ferret, weasel, stote, wolverine type thing. Rats are rodents the teeth are way different. A capybara is more of a big water rat than an otter.

Otters are strange but marvellous creatures, they're a mixture between seal, dolphins (for sounds and playful behavior), weasel, marmot, ferret. They're loyal and cozy like a dog when you get back home, they slide like a snake sometimes, but they act with a cat software.

I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER SEEN A CAT AND AN OTTER PLAYING TOGETHER HOLY COW. YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOO LUCKY TO HAVE THESE ANIMALS IN YOUR LIFE.

I was fishing one day with my dad. On an old wooden bridge with gaps between the railway ties. We caught a dozen fish and while we were cleaning them we dropped our Swiss army knife between the gaps on the bridge. We left the guts and fishheads for a couple of otters we saw swimming. We stoped back there the next day on the way home from camping to do some more fishing and we couldn't BELIEVE our eyes. The pocket knife was up on the bridge. In plane sight. We fished till we caught a dozen and left the full 12 fish for the otters. I will never forget it. Most amazing wild animal story I have. 😊

I agree, I don't know how or if one can have an otter as a pet. I will tell you that some folks I read about, an owl flew/crashed into their house who was obviously slightly wounded. They nursed it back to health over a few weeks and the owl gradually recovered and was able to fly again. But the owl hung around and became accustomed to the people, and of course they fed it. Owl lived outside but came around freely, inside and outside the home. Some months later they were raided by Fish & Game for some form of "illegal pet" or "interfering with protected wildlife". I am talking SWAT team, with body armor and semi-auto weapons. I kid you not. The man did 6 months in jail and they were hit with 6 figures in fines. So under some conditions, this is nothing to take lightly.

I saw this video 5 years ago. It made me well up like a little girl. That is so adorable. Beyond adorable.

Me: "I'm not really much of a pet person." Video starts: "Ok, maybe an otter." 7 seconds in: "...and a cat." 56 seconds in: "...and a bird."

The cat watching the otter and bird meet is like a movie. The cat can’t believe the suspense is happening. He’s like “ooooh it’s about to happen” and then “oh so I guess he’s trained too”

So cute!!! I had a cat like that for several years and never knew it was called a Bengal... I just knew she was different than other cats... These two really love each other...

They have one thing in common though, they both love fish! 😁

I like the otter went full ferret for a minute there lol

I love how, even in their rough and tumble, they're so gentle with each other.

A perfect example for any couple: doing business together, having fun together.

I wish there was a laugh button, instead of a thumbs up or down, because that's what i would hit.

That would be "Muzak".. Shit music used in public toilets and safety videos.. With the huge universe of music available, the fact that people use this shite on awesome videos like this annoys the fuck outa me.. If you can't be bothered to find half decent music that fits a recording or an edit, then just have no music at all.. But shit music can make an awesome clip infuriating..
