Sam Sneed Inspired Dr. Dre | How to Westcoast GFunk
Sam Sneed Inspired how to make a g-funk westcoast type of beat video.
In this beat making tutorial, we use west cost and boom bap type sounds inspired by the production of Sam Sneed on beats like Ice Cube's Natural Born Killaz which Sam Sneed produced. This video demonstrates sounds from U-he's free vst called Pedolski and Lab V from Arturia inside of Logic Pro X.

Dr. Dre had a lot of people helping him create the sound at Death Row like Chris The Glove Taylor, Barney Rubble, Colin Wolfe, & Emanuel Dean(RIP).

Yes Sir........ Sam Sneed was and still is a Mastermind. He hails from Pittsburgh along with Mel Man, Buddha and Stu B Do Finga's all who were very instrumental in that Cali West Coast Vibe of the 90's. I say this as I seen them work first hand with Dre, Cube and a host of other Deathrow and Aftermath Artist. You have to check out Lady Heroin (Sam Sneed). Be on the look out for Sam in the near future as he is working his magic with a few independent artist. U Better Recognize!!!!!

@You're under 19 don't argue Youre wrong about when Sam Sneed came on the scene. He was producing for K Solo before ever meeting Dre in his life. I will say this about people trying to discredit Dr: If these so called coproducers and musicians were so great and instrumental in Dre’s success, why havent any of then obtained it without Dre?

Daz produced the chronic and doggy style for snoop . Daz produced snoop’s entire album , the parent company of death row requested that they put Dre name on it because of who he was .

Initially Keep their heads ringin' was Sam Sneed's song and when Dre came in and heard it he said "imma need this" lol. He needed a fire song for the Friday movie soundtrack so he picked that song. Confirmed by the girl who sang the intro and the chorus on the song, her name is Nancy Fletcher. I don't know if Sam had done the verses for that song though. And by the way Sam had his verse on Natural born killaz, you can hear it on youtube. Ice Cube was on the chorus originally but later they decided to remove Sam's vocals and give a place to Cube to spit his verse instead. It worked well so they later let Sam make another song to be present in Murder was the case movie soundtrack, this time completely of his own. Thus U better recognize was born.

Hes got his own style of production without doubt. Sam sneeds flow was impeccable to say the least. U better recognise was a masterpiece in riding the beat with that slightly lazy cool back seeming type of flow but it wasn't. Every sylable was well constructed and flowed with the beat effortlessly. My wife never complains when i put that tune on(one of the few).

Plus many more from that era I'm sure. Afro puffs sounds like him too. He made some of the best beats of that era and Dre got all the credit. Too bad he stopped making beats.

Check your references my brotha. You can not omit of forget about Cold 187um' aka Big Hutch from "Above The Law" Pamona, CA the ORIGINAL G-Phunk creator. Before they came to Ruthless Records there was NO GPhunk sound by way of Dr. Dre. After that, you started to hear Cold 187um's production influence and seasoning on the N***** For Life Album. Listen to ATLs' first album on Ruthless Records "Living Like Hustlas"... Kokane and Cold 187um' are first cousins. Also, listen to Kokane's Ruthless first release "Funk Upon A Rhyme"...

Isn't there a Sam Sneed that shows up on Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle album? The one that Snoop "gets into some ganster shit with"?
