Plus there are plenty so singers who can do what he does. For example. Brendon urie has range in the same level if not better. Look up brendon urie best live vocals. And with artist like Elton John you can’t say he’s the best. You can’t really say any of them are the best. But we can say he’s one of the greatest. He’s also just really famous. There are men and women who can sing and have voices just as amazing but you just don’t hear them as much if ever because they are never as famous

Just watched Sam Smith live yesterday at Sydney, and he was amazing live it was better than the studio version. His personality never changed, the way he smiles at the fans and smiles when singing with his backup singers was exactly the same. I also recognised his backup singers, they were with him at the concert too

I think his songs have more depth than you'd give it. I believe its hard to write a good heart break song without falling into a trap of overly used sayings; ex: nothing without you, heart broken...... Sam smith , like adelle, make it feel fresh and highly impactful with the words they drop.

the thing is, sam can sing notes very accurately and can show emotions contrast to adele who cannot do either of two. (sometimes inaccurate notes, she does have a little bit of emotion, but is nothing compared to sam)

There is no definition of lipsync in their mind.

The way that he is always "speaking" when he sings shows that he's in another level. Seriously, i've seen others artists (not in live of course) and they make gestures to make a note sounds better (which is normal) but, man, he goes up-to-down so easy.
