I remember installing weed farm scale installations a few years ago for guys that wanted to sink everything into crypto mining... for the money they spent they could all just be weed guys now and they would've actually made money. The smart thing to dump money into was right smack in front of their face, but tech was orthodoxy or whatever.

Almost as if these engines that we collectively based our societies on in modernity are fruadulent to the core. America rose because of industry, China rose because of industry. Both are experiancing economic hits despite having drastically different ideological foundations because they began leveraging swaths of their economies away from it. The transition to "financial" and "service" economies is the deathnell of a civilization
