Lead acid starter batteries can often be used for other applications when their ability to crank an engine has diminished. I like to use them on solar projects for things like garden lights, rainwater harvesting and charging my Li-Ion lawnmower. In those applications there is no need for 400A all at once.

I've saved quite a few batteries like this 👍 i use pulse desulphation cos thats the charger i have 👍 i do find a few months on a solar charger really helps, mine has equalisation once a month and after a year of running my LEDs in my garage they are in better condition voltage wise than before, but as you say i only load them with 10A or so Great vid chap 😎

I have used pulsation in the past, but I find a good equalisation charge to be most useful.

@ACDodd I did too when I had a decent jump-start charger 👍 give the battery a 30 min " boil " often did the trick 👌
