The first time you get your sh*t pumped by a galleon as a solo slooper is pretty disheartening. Especially when they take their time to sink you and just spawn camp you instead while your slowly leak away 😂

My worst experience in sea of thieves so far isnt actually dealing with enemy pirates. I tried a galleon for the first time and it stuck me with 3 french players who refused to speak english. As i was helping fire cannons in battle they stuck me in the jail cell and came down and laughed at me and threw water at me. So when i got out the cell i threw all their treasure, planks, food and cannonballs off board and then firebombed them and logged out. French people wonder why everyone hates them. 😂😂😂😂

Hey, french here, we have a really shitty community as far as gaming goes ngl, very toxic Also, a lot of french people really suck at speaking any other language than french, kinda like americans with english and they'd rather be dicks about it than actually try and learn Hope you had a ton of nice experiences and interactions in the game after that to make up for it :)

been play sot since beta and i got to say im pretty disappointed in the ps5 beta. not in the game but the players. the amount of lvl 100+ reapers going straight to new players at the outposts and just lighting them up for easy xp. i got so annoyed i dedicated myself to sinking them. what a weekend. dont worry ps5 players it isnt that bad lol

I ran into one of those today during just some regular pve stuff. I'm trash at pvp and was doing world events as a reaper, had a brig pull up on us and I boarded them as was actually able to keep spawn killing all 3 of them. One of them had the ghost curse on, there is know way he didn't lose farm it.

Another way besides never sinking is to buy a storage crate and run around whatever outpost you spawn in on, then go to a sea fort or 2 and loot all the barrels there. You will find tons of food and cannon balls to gear you for your sesh. ;)

I just played the closed beta and 9:29 was just insane to me. Can't wait to get owned by guys like this on the 30th.

@@kylesims4149 Because that's LITERALLY THE POINT OF EMISSARIES!!!!! Increased reward for increased risk. It literally marks you on the map for pvp purposes. Its literally the entire purpose behind the mechanics introduction to the game. To put a target on your back for PvPers. The reason why it's inviting additionally is because emissary flags are sellable loot that ONLY can be acquired from sinking emissaries. They LITERALLY are choosing to spawn into existence pvp-exclusive loot that requires your ship to be sunk for someone else to sell it. It's the only piece of loot in the game that you can't steal and instead NEED to sink the other ship in order to acquire. Once again, a design implemented with a focus on forcing pvp. That's the emissary system: risk and reward. By engaging with it, you are "accepting" both aspects of it. You aren't "encouraging" or "endorsing" it, just "accepting" that this will cause you trouble down the line by raising it. If you can't accept the increased risk, then you shouldn't be trying for the increased reward. Raising an emissary expecting no repercussions from it is no better than activating the hourglass but not using the map, and then acting surprised when a ship "randomly" spawns on you when you are doing a tall tail. -_- You might as well be using the reapers mark as your flag with all your lanterns on and naming your captains ship "kick me" as if you willfully taped that note onto the back of your ship as a self-prank. It's that big of an invitation.

TL;DR: by raising an emissary flag, you are making the choice to spawn in pvp exclusive loot (the flag itself) that can't be stolen and is only obtainable by other players via them sinking your ship. It is the only loot type in the game that requires you to sink another player in order to obtain and you have chosen for your ship to be one of those ships by spawning it into the world when you voted on an emissary. You are also agreeing to have your ship marked on the map to have other players see you and come attack you. The mechanic isn't just "free reward". It's designed to be a risk-reward mechanic/decision that you have to choose to make. When you accept the reward. . . you also accept the risk. "Accepting" pvp and "seeking out" pvp are not the same thing. "Accepting" just means you are willfully and consciously consenting to be subjected to such by, again willfully choosing, to put a bullseye target on your back. When you choose to wave a red cape infront of a male cow, you don't get to cry for mercy later.

Sir… this is a silly pirate game where we fight over pixels. Having fun in the encounters and seeing how people respond is so fun. Sometimes we negotiate a truce. Sometimes like today I give an Athena solo sloop 2 chests of legends because they said “I have a family” then proceeded to tell me their names are John, John 2 and John the Third.

You and people like you are the reason this game is no longer fun
