Saltwater Jigging Big Game Fishing Reel Review By PMR

Спорт

This is such a cheap reel yet the build quality is very good. This is going to give some of the big brands a headache!!!

I have tested this reel in Norway for cod and halibut. 7 days on sea and a lot of big fish landed. No issues. Do not see the bigger difference between this and a lot lot more expensive reels. Worth 100% every penny and will do the job.

I got a chance to fish this reel offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. It's a beast in a small package. Big fish hits and your struggling to crank you drop it into low speed and the odds turn strongly in your favor. You could take on up to a 300 lb tuna with this and not but out classed. It did everything the Accurates, Avets, and other $500 plus reels did. It did make a little more noise when you're wenching in 80 lbs of Amberjack or Grouper than the real expensive reels but it did the job and only required a freshwater rinse after the fishing was done.

I have had this reel for a few years now and not sure if it is still made in China or if there is a newer upgraded version but I have to say it has done everything I could have asked and more. I keep it on the boat as a heavy reel for conger and ray work. It has 600m of 50lb whiplash braid on it.

I have had this reel on test for 2 months for Jamie. I started fishing when I was 3 some 64 years ago. When I was 12 I was teaching fly fishing and commercially fly tying. I have built custom rods for from the age of 20. I had a marine and industrial plastics moulding business. Now I have retired I still fly fish and enjoy taking out my boat to fish the coastal waters of the UK. My opion on this reel is based on my years of experience and have caught tope and blue shark on it. As I said previously this reel is more than capable of coping with the challenge's of the UK without braking the bank on similar trade marked reels costing a lot more. I echo Sebastians Fedorowics comment on how he has found it out on the water.

I have had my hands on this reel and done the drag test. At full drag 40lb strike drag 22lb. This has some serious stopping power from the large twin drag system. I have Posiedent twin speed reels. This is a serious competitor for a 1/3 of the price. Ideal for heavy boat fishing in UK.

I have this reel for several months now, I used it for Rock Cod and Salmon trolling. No problem so far. Its stand up for deep sea fishing for the price.

Hello everyone. Excellent review of the reel, I enjoy your content. Just wanted to share my experience with this reel. Early August I bought a wider version of the reel you reviewed for $110. I was very pleased when I received it, but after inspecting it I noticed that the reel was stuck in low gear. I contacted the seller in China and he gave me a refund for half the amount so I could fix it at a tackle shop instead of waiting another 3 weeks to get a new one. I took it to a very experienced reel repair shop. They were not able to repair it, they cited that since it was a Chinese reel there were no parts. They were able put the reel in high gear, but low gear will not engage. Many commenters said it was a great reel, but be warned that quality control has always been an issue with cheap Chinese reels. Just wanted to share my experience, tight lines everyone!!!

I purchased one of these to use out in the Gulf of Mexico for bottom fishing and jigging. Mine has about 400 Yards of Kastking 80 lb Braid on it although I have no means to measure the line as I spooled it up. I agree with you on the build quality, it is very good. I did a informal test of the drag by tying on a small ring and attaching it to a digital fishing scale 0-150 lbs and pulling it at strike and full. It slipped at 27 lbs on strike and 39 on full. Not a formal test but close enough. I will be taking it out near the end of September to try it out on some big amberjacks and small tuna. I can't wait to have at it with them

Wonderful review of the reel! Did not see any reel seat Clamp in the video, though looks like there is provision for a reel seat Clamp. Does the purchase comes with the reel seat Clamp and required screws?

Here in North Carolina, U.S. we have Red Drum: a fish that commonly weighs 30-40 lbs. They're caught from shore and fishermen use multiplier reels with Abu 7000-type line capacity like a Daiwa SL30SH. How well would this Chinese reel cast? Can a reasonably-practiced angler cast 100-120 yards? Do any versions have have braking, either centrifugal or magnetic? Is the spool aluminum to where you could mag this reel? I really like the idea of getting one of these, changing the handle knob to something smaller, and taking to the beach for some big game fishing out past the first sand bar.

I have this reel and the other Camekoon reel. I bought two of each and I have used them both and they have issues. This reel has developed a weird noise when pulling drag and my guess is that it will die soon. I have used it only a few times and it is already giving issues. The Camekoon is by far not better. The cast control knob is tight to the point that it is almost unusable. The drag setting knob is way too lose to the point your drag setting will not stay at all. I would stay away from both reels, this CNC whatever and the Camekoon.

That's about a 50% increase since covid; but so many fishing reels from Abu Chrome Rockets to Shimano Talica reels have also gone up by around 40% so still a good and cheap reel. Also, if it's that price on Amazon, it will be at least 20% cheaper else where. Amazon is very expensive these days. I recently cancelled my Amazon Prime because it went p twice in one year!!

So if it indeed has a "twin drag" system. Can Accurate slap an injunction on it like i believe occurred with Maxel / jigging master years back when the could only sell single drags? PMR How many fish have you caught on it. (I ask this of everyone who gushes about aesthetics of reels without indicating they used it on the water...please don't take offense....I question it every time. And whenever I put out vids...I'll only comment on the how it is out of the box..and make it clear i haven't fished it)

I sent it up country to one of my testers, Allen Cooke, he fished the reel and sent it back down to me with a report 3 days ago after testing it for 2 months on large Tope (British Shark up to 80LB) as he is a boat owner with time to fish as he is retired and also has a drag test machine! There is a comment from him below. I also told a few of my friends and customers who have also bought and fished it. Now I have it back I will start fishing it and do a long term review with a report in about 6 weeks, then again in 6 months after heavy winter fishing as I have done with numerous reels throughout the 600+ videos on my channel. If you were not so busy telling me about everyone who gushes about aesthetics.... and bothered to read the comments below you would have answered your own questions. That is very disappointing...... Seb who contacted me and lent me his Maxel Ocean for a review bought one of these Chinese reels on my recommendation and took it to Norway. AGAIN; YOU CAN READ HIS REPORT BELOW. As for Copyright from either Maxel (who by the way have twin drag on most of there reels) and Accurate. If you actually did some work you could find out instead of postulating..... So I did it for you, its called searching the TM (Trade Mark) and ® (Copy-write; like I have on PMR Bespoke custom®) data base's. There is Country Of Origin, EU, or World Wide. It turns out that Accurate only have TM & ® in the US and both are very limited. Considering the claims you put on the Bio of your channel I am also very surprised that you did not know that Poseidon reels are a direct copy of an Accurate Boss BX Extreme reel, but Made in Thailand and sold in the EU at less than half the price, as I said when I did my review of the Poseidon 400r Twin Speed

Hi Allen, I appreciate the reply (great reply by the way) I also appreciate the background insight. I'm sure you share similar opinions as I do of modern fishing gear. In that there is so much garbage it covers up the good stuff. Even from recognized brands. In the Vid....Albeit a bit limited in terms of what you get to see...No real internals shown. I looks like a a real deal reel. Something that in the USA some clown will surely slap their logo on and claim it's made in the USA or some BS which seems to happen every year or two..... I'm scratching my head at the new design of the new Daiwa saltist.....And how the vids with Daiwa reps saying it's all metal with the exception of the knob and lever.....yet everything mounts to a platsic plate (think abu handle side) Not garbage...but WTF is up with that decision....and why the flat out lie from a daiwa rep. Anyways...thanks for the insight. I read your comment...prior to making my initial comment...But without the additional insight took it with a grain of salt..(no offense :) ) Tight lines!

As a fishermen of Talica II Torsas Tiagras....Accurates Everols Krystal Miya etc........its odd to see how some of the big names are in "retrograde" and companies with literally no name brand....are bringing to the table real competition....

Hi. I will post a video of half of my fight with 40 lbs halibut. As well have no problem with taking the reel apart in pieces as I intend to clean and grease it after my trip. Reel caught around 20 plus cods size 10 lbs up to 30 lbs. A lot of brosmas (not sure what english name for it is) from 5 lbs to 8 lbs. About 30 plus redfish up to 5 lbs. That was 3 or 4 at each time from 120 m deep water and other. A lot of work in difficult cold temperatures waves rain and salt water splashing. All fish caught from water deeper than 40m. This is not same detailed quality as JM nor Maxel, but is very close and will do the job 100 percent. I hope I test it someday against bigger 100 lbs plus halibut.
