What a treat. Custom sail cover. Now that's a good friend. Only in the boating world would groovy people like this come out and want to really help you.
THANK U DAVE FROM THIER AUDIANCE. LUV U KID'S.
Long time follower/subscriber here. ( Not quite from the beginning, but binge watched). I don't think I have ever seen two humans more in love and committed to a common goal. Much love from a ( sadly) landlubber with the soul of a sailor. Your adventure in life has brought much more joy to my life than I can possibly express in text.
The three of you are a team. You look after her and she looks after you two.
You guys keep putting it out there, and you continue to get it back by collecting gems like Dave. I love how he's so critical of his work, a typical maker, always striving to improve and loving the process. Now Dave gets to see his great work travel the world.

Your sea trials and improvements are very logical and it seems to be a WONDERFUL boat to sail. You're ready - much more than so many people who undergo this part of the journey. I'd say congratulations, but really it's your hard work!
The Universe; "Be like Dave". We need more Daves in the world.

Yep.
I am so glad that the two of you had the foresight to start this channel more than 7 years ago. What a life story. Sure glad you are now reaping the rewards of such hard work. You deserve it. one dude and one dudette livin' da Loca !!!!
What you said about stress is true, mostly imagined on land. One of my favorite sayings is”I have suffered many crisis’ in my life, some of which actually happened.” 😂
We named our Hydrovane: "Staunch", living up to her name on every passage.
You are killing it. And hope to see you cast off soon.
Since boats are never truly done, good job.
First,,,, What awesome covers guys.
Wow Dave you are salt of the earth damn good man!
Cool guy helping with the covers 😎
When you said you could not believe how "Redaviva" steered herself, it niggled something in the back of my brain. I FOUND IT! Capt. Joshua Slocum told a story in his book "Sailing Alone Around the World" about "Spray" where he was able to sit out at the bow and let her steer herself! I laughed when I found it. I read that book when I was 14 years old from my Dad's library, I am 65 now. I have watched pretty close from the beginning. Love you guys! Fair winds and following seas!
what a lovely bloke x
Wowza…Thank You Dave…A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed👍 Continue to Stay Safe and Enjoy 😎
Evenmore impatient to see the following video since I glimpsed the figurehead of such an endearing tall ship : hms surprise. Hope you will give us a kindly christmast gift with some views of her.
I love watching you two turning your house into a home.
You just keep going learning as you go. It is a fantastic way to do things as you guys demonstrate every week. Dave was a much needed new friend and the covers look great.
Ha dave those extra eyelet are there to let any water out 😁😁😁 theres no mistakes in upholstery 😁😁😁 thank you for your workmanship 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼from a self taught upholster from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Oi! My sister's in Melbourne... looking to sail there in a few years myself :-) Carn' the Saints!!
WTG Dave, more people like DAVE in the world Dave W.
Garrett and Ruth, Merry Christmas to You and Your Family. Cheers! I wish you the best, today and for years to come. Blue Skies. Faithfully, James
Merry Christmas I get home sick seeing you where I Grew up. Point Loma for 31 years there. Enjoying your journey hoping the Best for you two Always. Give Jules and Susan my regards,Great folks too!
Props to Dave.. Good Good Dude.... and Happy Hollidays to you R & G....✌✌✌
Great job on the sail covers. Rigging adjusted, sensors and internet, auto pilot, time for the next set of adventures.
Wow Dave, You absolutely Rock! what a kind gesture. Those Sail Covers look Great. btw But, Those Dead Eyes Look so bloody Cool though Garrett. BTW Garrett a good tip so you don't have to burn the tips of your fingers, when you melting the end of the line, is to use a old butter knife to push on the end of line and get it to not unfrea on ya.
Work on your weakness not your strengths, you already have that. Focusing on your weakness , makes you stronger . When that card is played. Your more prepared. Always run through your mind . What if. Then make plans in your head how to navigate it. If the time or problem is thrown on your plate your somewhat prepared.. Lets face it life is full of unplanned problems. The merits of anyone is how they handle them. Merry Xmas much love.
Love it!
Hi you guys I love hearing from you, In this entry, the sound was kind of in and out I had my sound levels all the way up and what I was getting was in mono, not stereo but the picture was incredible. the sound problem was on my end my headphone connections were not tight
So enjoyed this episode.. and Dave's contributions and the new Starlink to make your uploading better and I loved the rigging redo and never heard that term Siezes I think and want to look into the whole field as the schooners I have been on all had similar riggings and I am clueless to the process etc. I know the basic names of few things but you're showing knots I never knew and process and names I never knew before . I've learned a lot from you both in the last 2 or 3 years I have been religiously watching the journey you are on. MEXICO NEXT WOW ... World Of Wonder You're on your way !!!
Well done
Yay Dave! You're a good guy. Things are getting exciting :)
Awesome job
We love pine pellets for our composting head. They are relatively light weight and crazy cheap. No need to soak . . . So much more simple and zero smell.
Amazing video
Integrate a turnbuckle with the deadeye on the tied off lead. Keep the esthetics but gain ease of adjustment. Just a muse. Bon Voyage, Happy Holidays.
Merry Christmas
Good luck at the border with those bags of "compost"...
You are such a knowledgeable sailor on rigging Garrett. To top it off, you two and the rest of your family's are soooo heartwarming and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for sharing.
I am so entertained & energized by this video that I am going to go get the shovel from my basement to have it at the ready for the expected snowfall in 45 minutes! Thanks for a well done episode! See you next time. :¬) Webhead USA
Don’t know if you remember us in our little ketch, we met you in San Diego mid-November. Cool boat! You guys are inspiring! We’ve been in Cabo for a week now and off to. At Mazatlan in s couple days. Fair winds and stay safe.
Dave... you are the man!!
She is a real ship your work has paid off. Merry First Christmas on your little ship.
Time for a hair cut, he's getting to strong. Happy sailing.
All sailboat need a Sai dog 🐕
So nice to see you folks having fun on the water..... boat & crew are lookin' good !! Nice sail covers!!!!
You have become quite the Salt! Very impressive working of your lines and tensioning. Rediviva has become a fine little ship and I love this channel.
nice merry easter
I absolutely love this channel! I’ve watched almost from the start and it’s so awesome to see you two reaping what you have sewn. You do need a bowsprit net asap though.😂 Merry Christmas guys!
❤❤❤❤😎😎😎⛵️⛵️⛵️luv your attitude Garrett , happy holidays 🎉
What a breath of fresh, warm air. High today, +6.
just to make you feel better. it is minus 2 wind chill in monroe michigan in Ft.Worth TX it 13 . injoy the warm sun brrrrr lolenjoying your KZread always look forward to watching
Love all the old school stuff
You dont seem to have alot of protection at the helm . In a high sea with spray you will be drenched ...but thats how sailors have done it for centuries...beautiful boat you guys did amazing
Grab yourselves a little kitchen vacuum sealer and a cut to size roll of vac bags, it'll let you reduce the space taken up by your composting moss by probably half. They're dirt cheap and also come in super handy for storing all kinds of other stuff and keeping your food fresh longer.
Merry Christmas to you both and safe sailing. thanks for all the great vids over the year.
Merry Christmas to, you both, love the videos
So I'd like to let you two know that I am always looking for your next episode days early...! Love what you two are doing! I'm restoring a boat and hope to be out there in early 2024
But..., are you ready to go? ;) Cheers, you two!
I hope you meet up with Senor Brady and Blue in your travels down the coast to Mexico. He loves 🌮 🌮 🌮 🌮 🌮. Super Dave, thanks for the sail covers. Good karma. 🤟
A side by side picture with star of India or California would be nice
Hi Ruthie and Garrett 2023 sees the end of a transition of building to full fledged sailing channel Blessings for the new year and Feliz Navidad from Frida's
Then on to the Antarctic !
The shanty " Bully in the alley" has to do with the natural fibre shrouds loosening up.
Nice video. Pretty sure that last knot is called a clove hitch.
We have a Starlink on a mountain top with forest all around. It works great. Fun to see the dish move. Great invention. Enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Oh my God, you two will be in Mexico before ya know it!! I cant wait to see what ya all get into in Mexico..
Love it! Your mix of state-of-the-art tech and traditional boating is quite special, and the best thing: it works! So looking forward to seeing you sail! Happy new year!
Better all the time ! Thanks
Love you guys!!! Great work and ever so slightly jealous 🤙
I love the rig and agree it’s pretty. Could you cheat a little. Could you add a turnbuckle on the last pitch of the deadeye and hide it behind some leather sheath?
3:12 Garrett's unscripted words describing life on land, "in there", perfectly describe how most of us live in a box full of imaginary stress.

Yeah, responsible people with jobs who actually earn their money instead of e-begging. What a concept.
Nice video
Merry Christmas guys keep living that dream for all us 😃
Merry Christmas, Happy New year! Your little boy is so cute. Hope he will some day join you on this journey! Blessings
Oh, Garrett's poor fingers!
That knot is a clove hitch! Maybe
Kind of a silly thought but if you thought of maybe doing a highbred basically put a turnbuckle into your Dead Eyes so that you can tighten them I just turning turnbuckles but still have your dead eyes For their appearance. You just put One turnbuckle between every upper and lower deadeye to tighten up the ropes between. Then there’s the other thought of putting the term buckle above the upper deadeye and that way you’d have the lower end of the turnbuckle Attached over the Deadeye and the upper end attached to the rigging.
I didn't know Banana's were muscles 🤣
You Guys Rock, Merry Christmas !!
So happy for yall!! Your boat is perfect in many ways and I'm a bit jealous lol. I'm starting my own refit of an etchells 22 for coastal cruising, ive been jotting down some ideas from yall. Fair winds to yall!!
Thor and his hammer!
Love it keep it up ❣️
Im pretty envious of Garretts thick facial hair.
Merry ghristmas for you guys!! Happy times sailing this masterpiece vessel what you got guys!!👌👍✌️☺️🌅🌎
Oh yeah! That Texas made Yellowbird hot sauce!
Sorry we missed y'all we didn't roll into San Diego till mid December.
Merry Christmas you guys
Go south quick , flee that snow storm baring down on you . Happy Xmas peps !
Lovely video I wish you both a merry Christmas and a Happy New year Kevin Thailand
Guy in that big boy there at the end did not have right of way. You could have called port authority on that one.
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
I've been watching from before her keel was poured. How do you do it? You just keep getting better and better, as humans, as sailors, as videographers.... I'm already jonesing for 224. In re risk management, seaworthy? check! Radar, AIS, wind instrument? check! blah, blah, blah. You two seem to know your limitations and are eagerly crafting ways to expand them. Good on ya!
I see the HMS Surprise there at the end!
