Salt Lake City Supercross 450cc Recap: Chase Sexton WINS Battle, Jett Lawrence WINS War!

Спорт

The Salt Lake City Supercross finale in the 450cc class did not disappoint at all.
Salt Lake City's Rice-Eccles Stadium saw the crowning of eventual champ Jett Lawrence on his #18 HRC Honda. Lawrence became the first 450cc rookie since Ryan Dungey in 2010 to win the Supercross title in his rookie year.
KTM's Chase Sexton was edged for the holeshot by Star Yamaha rookie Justin Cooper #32 in the 450cc main. Sexton, on his last night with the #1, got around J-Coop and cruised to his first win since round 2 at San Francisco.
Cooper's teammate, Cooper Webb #2, ran in 3rd, where he would finish, despite revealing he'd been nursing a thumb injury that will require surgery. Webb is not expected until the final quarter of the 2024 Motocross season.
For Chase Sexton, it was win #2 of 2024; for Justin Cooper, it was his season-best finish of 2024 (2nd place).
For now, 2024 Supercross is done, and we head to Pala Raceway for round 1 of Motocross 2024!
