All of the Great Lakes have steelhead and salmons stocking programs. Stocked in the many tribs as smolts.

All of the Great Lakes have steelhead and a few have atlantics. They are stocked in the many tributaries as smolts. All of the US border states have steelhead and salmon stocking programs.

Would love to see some Trout, Salmon, Pike & Bass flyfishing episodes that highlight Michigan-based waterways. Are there any like that archived in the file system?

Not yet. We have approached Michigan Tourism about having us come but not much interest at this time.

I never knew you get Pacific and Atlantic salmon in the Ontario catchments. Are these migrating from Hudson Bay?

All of the Great Lakes have salmon and steelhead stocking programs. They are put in the tributaries as smolts . A few US border states have started Atlantic salmon stocking programs with some success.

Majority of the Ontario salmon/trout are naturalized and wild not hatchery

I love your channel and im not trying to be a dick, but how at like 8:22 can you say you guys stop using tailing gloves because they aren't necessary then proceed to use one on the next three fish?

totally agree, that was some old stock video. for the future, if we do use old footage in a new show that uses tailing gloves, we will put a disclaimer on-screen telling anglers not to use them. thanks for your valued feedback

There are no Steelhead in the Great lakes. They are Adfluvial Rainbow trout. Steelhead are Anadromus.

They are in fact strains of steelhead. Stop with this nonsense.

@@chuckatkins267 Apparently, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, hatched from a duck egg, and has the same genetics as a duck, it’s still not a duck unless it lives in HIS duck pond. 🙄

No, you are incorrect. Since they’ve been reclassified into genus Onchorhynchus, they are salmon, not trout. But they are still steelhead.

Horrible fish handling. Don´t use tailing gloves or nylon net. Also why pick them up 5 feet out of the water.
