Salmon River Hotspots

We get asked all the time where are the hot spots on the Salmon River. So we create a video to show you where the best access points.
Don't forget to stop in and see us at Fat Nancy's when you're in Pulaski. We have everything you need from waders, rods, reels, flies, line, boots, etc. We carry Simms, Korkers, G.Loomis, Shimano, Douglas, Costa, Yeti, and more. We're located right off of 81, exit 36 in Pulaski, NY.
Special thanks to Wild Outdoor Media for making this video.

Excellent video King David. Very informative and professionally done. Especially enjoy all the overhead views; gives nice view of the larger area which one isn't always able to grasp from the ground.

i usually fish at old railroad bridge , its not great because you get snagged a lot and number of people that go to that spot is just crazy, if you have to go out of water for anything someone else will take your spot and its always shoulder to shoulder, on my way to motel or home i always pass by Wild bill he cleans my fish every year, awesome guy

Estuary: Back in the days where you could use lures, I fished a Mepps Copper Spinner in early October and landed a 16 lb Coho from a rowboat I rented at Larson's. Not bad for my first salmon on this river.

so a swivel is considered a weight? From the new york lake ontario website......."The distance between the hook, artificial fly or lure and any weight attached to the line or leader, whether fixed or sliding, shall not exceed four feet."

Hey guys my name is tommy I'm 14 and have a question. If I'm going to use a fly line setup how do I manage 48 inches of leader?do I need monofilament before that then that goes to leader?

Theres too many variables to answer that question, stop by malindas fly shop in altmar and she will get you set up for the conditions, style and water you want to fish

Tippet. 48 inches of tippet (can be heavy flouro) there just has to be a break off point for the line incase you snag or break off somehow to limit trash in the water

Salmon capital of the world. Well I’ll be damned. Seen a lot of vids in your area…lots a snaggers and black fish well past their prime. The fish deserve to spawn in peace.

Hi my son and I are coming up in October I was wondering if out of state temporary licenses are available we are coming from West Virginia. I also was wondering if you would be willing to hook us up with the necessary tackle and bait to fish at that town with the bridge in Pulaski. We have experience with Steelhead but have never fished for salmon. Would be happy to provide you guys with some business. Thank You

We usually head down to Shavers Fork in the Fall and Spring for some trout fishing and Walnut Creek for steelhead in Erie. Just looking for a good spot to go for Salmon on October 4th and 5th. We spincast, any suggestions for bait?( Single eggs, egg sacks live minnow)

My advice is to stay away from the village of Pulaski, especially if your son is a minor. The local trash come out in numbers this time of year and antagonize the fishermen relentlessly from sunrise til dark. They will literally elbow you out of their way, evict you from "their spot", use foul and abusive language towards you, threaten you with physical violence, make racist comments to you loudly and often, make sexual offers to you in exchange for money or drugs, and will generally destroy your experience and leave you unable to remember anything about your fishing trip but them.
