For a warm moist compress, I microwave a corn-filled heating pad for 2 minutes and then I place a wet washcloth (wrung out) between the heating pad and my face. Etsy has inexpensive corn heating pads.

I have experienced sick mucus for over 10 years. I don't drink or take any sugar products but I cannot get away from caffeine. As an operating room nurse I've had the opportunity to ask several ENT surgeons I have also asked a couple of dentists what I can do to deal with this problem and they all seem to look at me as if I have two heads. However, I have again researched this and I thank people like this doctor for giving sensible advice that is seeming to work very well. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with such caring.

When you say sick mucus, do you mean like you constantly have phlegm stuck in your throat. I always feel it’s, it all started after covid. My left submandibular gland is swollen, well to me it feels slightly larger than the other. I’ve gone to an ent, had a nasal scope done and a CT scan. They can’t seem to find anything. It’s driving me nuts.

Soon after I got this swollen parotid gland which a doctor looked at and agrees that it could be the covid virus that caused it. It's been 6 weeks now and hasn't let up. I'm on antibiotics and CT scan next week. I hope yours gets better.

Please consult your doctor and I wish you all the best! 🙏🏻 Note: In my case, sialendoscopy didn’t work, so I am taking ESWL sessions currently (2/5)… I hope that the stone will go away as it breaks into pieces and I won’t need sialendoscopy.

The VA outsourced it to an E.N.T. Doctor, and they NEVER gave me the CD with the C.A.T. Scan info. I had to drive HOURS back & forth to bring them the CD. Now I have to wait a few more days to see another Doctor who will be able to Operate, of course it PROBABLY WON'T be on the day of my appointment. I got Antibiotics & Steroids from the ENT Doctor, but NO PAIN MEDS. They left me in AGONIZING PAIN for DAYS now.

Hi, I'm 32 years old and, I have been diagnosed with Sialadenitis this week. Which appears, in my case, to be a complication brought on by a bout with the flu. I have been in and out of the ER with massive swelling. And I'm very ready for relief. Would a heating pad be as effective as a warm compress? Any other tips? I've had a day or so with no swelling and some relief, but it has come back and I'm back to not sleeping or eating much. Currently on antibiotics and steroids along with ibuprofen, awaiting a call with ENT specialist.

I have had this happen to me more then once...symptoms I got was a painful jaw..painful teeth and gum..Feels like an infection tooth...u can feel the bumps between ur gums and jaw on the inside and outside..its very painful to eat..most times the pain will be on one side..ur ear may hurt has well..I do the message as soon as I feel the pain in my jaw..several times a day..suck on sour lemon drops several times a day and I use a heating pad also often throughout the day..the pain will be very intense for about 3 days especially at night..so I take ibuprofen 1300 MG ( I know this is high but when ur in this kind of pain its helped me every 8 hours) swelling happens along the jaw and ear..for a few days then should start going down..if the swelling gets worse after about 3 days..go to the docs..u can apply a little pressure on the lumps..it will hurt but only for a few moments and always going in a down motion..get lots of rest for the 1st 3 days...drink slot of water...this can mask itself as a tooth infection so be aware I spent money to go to the dentist only to find out it was not an infection..salt water rinses also help with pain..I had no antibiotics went away completely in about a week but u should see improvement as the days go on..if not and ur getting worse..then YES get to the docs..

But all you recommended is the most effective way- the hot/warm compress, massaging gently around the swelling area plus above helps, antibiotics and salt rinses. Lemon technique somehow is soo painful for me. Hope everyone who suffers from this read this too

Are you saved? If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH , and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:10 KJV He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

If I push really hard on the glands will that make them pop in a good way or will it only damage them? (All the glands on my left side are swollen like hard golfballs) I've done massages for over a week and it's only getting worse.

Looks like you had this problem two weeks ago. Did the stone pass? You can't pop anything. The stone has to loosen and move out of your gland. Mine is rock hard like a golf ball too... Totally plugged.

Chewing cinnamon flavored gum really helped to activate the salivary gland so that the stone could start moving. Mine was under my tongue. I massaged with a cosmetic q-tip. It left a gaping hole when it came out, but the pressure was instantly relieved
