I agree! I don’t care what anyone thinks, I love the Banquet Salisbury Steaks (maybe it’s the nostalgia)❤️ I also buy the family pack and make my sides separately.

As much as I hate processed food, when it comes to this stuff Stouffer's is the best with Marie Calendar a close second (mainly their pot pies).

I am a cheapskate. For many years, I would buy a $.69 banquet potpie about every four or five years because I had forgotten how bad they were. However, I agree with you about the Marie Callender potpies. They were actually tasty. I agree with you about process food, which is why I went to some trouble to count all of the ingredients to let people know there were a lot of extra ingredients. They weren't aware of.

I eat very few frozen dinners, but when i do , Stouffers is my favorite. I did try that Boston Market Salisbury steak a few months ago and it was only edible if you were hungry and had nothing else to eat! Very pasty texture! My favorites are Stouffers vegetable lasagna, kind of small serving, i like to have a little rotisserie chicken with it. Also the chicken a la king is good, little skimpy on the chicken. The chicken broccoli Alfredo is good too, especially if you add extra parmesan. Oh and the only pot pie i have found edible is Marie Callender's chicken pot pie.

I like the Stouffers meat loaf better than their salisbury steak because I like mashed potatoes better than mac and cheese as a side with a hamburger patty.

I appreciate the rigor and thoroughness that went into this video. For me, the main value is being able to eliminate the 3, 4, and 5 taste ratings. I usually go for the Hungry Man because of the varieties of sides; especially the green beans. Having the mashed potatoes in separate section from the meat and gravy keeps the texture more natural. I like to take a bit of the potato and dip it in the gravy before eating it.

1:50 First mistake: TV dinners taste best heated in a conventional oven or a toaster oven according to instructions on the package. Microwave ovens vary widely on power levels and always seem to turn out an inferior result.

Goody. Another connoisseur taste test. Would you recommend red wine from a jug or cardboard carton to go with those? I'm not much of a drinker, but they all could taste better with a BOTTLE of red wine. You've got breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next few days though. Bon appétit! They can be made with hamburger patties smothered in some gravy. The gravy is easy to make in a saucepan with a little butter, a sprinkle of Oxo Beef-in-a-mug powder, and sprinkle of flour or other starch. Stir with a hand whisk and splash in some water to keep thickening to gravy consistency. Add some veggies and/or lettuce and nuke a potato as you make the gravy and you have your comfort food faster than you can microwave one of those.

Hey Island gal, I did eat one but I think the rest are going to my neighbor who has a little dog. I want to do some more food fights with food that I actually eat. Unfortunately might diet does not have a lot of popular foods. But it was fun to do and I think I'll do more. Let me know if there's something you think would make a good food comparison video.

Oh Robb, you are braver than I am. I remember years ago having to eat a salisbury tv dinner because of a kitchen remodel. Too say the least I was not impressed. Best I can remember it was one of the brands that has been around for years. I guess if I had to eat one again, I will remember your taste test or food fight results. You was through with the sides as well. Thanks for sharing your culinary experience and I will pat you on the back for this one. Have a blessed evening!

Congratulations Robb! I think you may have performed a necessary public service while ,simultaneously, avoiding a lawsuit over it. I’m putting your name in for the James Henry Salisbury award for courage and excellence. Being impressed by your last efforts , I did stock up on King Oscar’s Boneless Sardines, but I’m satisfied with the knowledge provided by this one and will file it under “emergency options”. You took a few for the team this time. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.🥴👍 BTW, did you know it could be said that Salisbury Steak saved the Union? No kidding!

Hey chops, I had read about Salisbury steak being a health food at one time, actually the people practicing the carnivore diet may have a lot in common with the original Salisbury steak. I didn't know about it saving the union though. I enjoyed the food fight video and want to do more but you would be surprised I have already had several people unsubscribe. Maybe they could not get over the fact that Paul Newman could actually eat 50 eggs. Or they were upset that I let everyone see the big board.😀

@@RobbsHomemadeLife There is no telling what makes some folks tick or get pissed. My motto is and has always been "screw em’ if they can’t take a joke.” I searched KZread for “the history of salisbury steak”. I had no idea how interesting that would be. I always assumed it was just a recipe from a restaurant or region. Not so. “The History Guy” has a good video on the subject. Surprised the heck out of me..

The funny part is that Salisbury steak was initially a health food and the doctor that popularized it claimed he had cured people of ailments that of the treatments failed at. It was basically an all meat diet. Or a high meat diet. You might be interested looking it up since you eat mostly meat. Graham crackers was another health food. And cornflakes.
