I could watch the movies from this era everyday for a year and always have a smile on my face. They don't make'em like this any more, unfortunately.

Maybe because these people think it's hard times to have to shine their own shoes, wash and iron their clothes, and buy things on sale. Yet he won't let her work, keeps buying on credit anything and everything, tries to be a big wheeler-dealer businessman rather than being an employee long enough to clear the bills. Loses everything except her. Both if them dishonest with each other about money. That's hard to watch, but I wanted to see them get sensible and straighten out themselves finally! That's a happy ending. 😄👏

Anne Nagel, you can sell me a mattress any day. Harry Davenport grandpop started in movies at the age of 70, he was born in 1866. Stage actor all his life.
I love Anne Nagel, too bad they didn't make her a real star, she had all the qualities.
Loved the movie and she's great !! Makes one very nostalgic for the old simpler times. I read up about her and noted she led a tragic life that ended far too early !! Life isn't like the movies ...

@@mscir Yes Mike, stories of redemption give me a big lift for sure, love to see people's lives turn out well. Committed my life to Christ in 1973, and an old friend who is not religious at all said to me recently, "It probably saved your life Don. You were headed in a bad direction." I remain thankful after all this time. Hope your Christmas and New Year are good.
This movie was too sweet!
I’ve got the biggest smile on my face and I can’t wipe it off 😁✨ This is a by gone era that showed a real sense of self worth & individual pride. The story telling touched my soul. Starting out in life is quite a battle to find out who you are & how your simply going to pay the bills much less find someone you can make a home with and find the happiness that can bring. The movies of today seldom offer a roadmap to any feelings of hope & success. Now it’s sex,violence,con jobs,gangs,drugs,politics,corruption,etc etc. Our country is experiencing incredible turmoil and social unrest to the point it feels like its self destructive. Technology is moving faster than people can keep up with & the threat of total annihilation looms all around. Poverty,racism,hunger,lack of jobs,education,surveillance via the phone,government control over every aspect of life is unbelievable & unnerving. Where is life headed🤔⁉️ Things seem a lot simpler long ago - what’s to become of us🙄❓ Everyone & everything seem dysfunctional - people are like zombies searching their phones for answers like drug addicted chickens with their heads cut off. This movie reflected dignity compassion & hope unlike the times of today.

Dear Brother Richard, The answer is that God is working out a purpose here below. He will only allow the world to go so far and then will, as promised, intervene. Man will finally come to learn that apart from our Maker, man cannot live in peace and harmony. In fact, apart from our Maker, man will absolutely destroy all life on this planet, and all life in the world. Praise be to God that the Messiah will return before long, and save the world from itself. And that, my dear brother, is the TRUTH!
@narniagirl1420

@@mackethridge7798 Mack, you are SO right! People have to learn that they need God, that they need to follow his ways. For many decades we have been on a slow slide, getting farther and farther away from the Lord and his laws. Now, I read recently in an email from my prayer group, Intercessors for America, that the Satanic Temple (Satan-worshipers) in Texas are "suing for the right to engage in the abortion ritual because it is part of their 'worship'. (Texas is out-lawing all abortions.) Who could have believed our supposedly innocent, harmless, sliding away from God could come to this? But God is in control and I am praying for a great spiritual awakening that I believe IS COMING is coming to America.

Revelation 12:9-12 satan is misleading the ENTIRE inhabited EARTH. Woe for the earth and sea because the devil has come down to you having GREAT ANGER knowing he has a short period of time . This is why the world system has got so bad. The violence and evil will continue untill Go removes the wicked . Both Human and invisible wicked spirits. persons . Earth will be restored and billions resurrected under Gods heavenly Kingdom. Matthew 24 :14 Revelation 21:4 death suffering old age sickness will BE NO MORE. Hosea 13:14 From the hand of Sheol I shall redeem them from DEATH oI shall recover them. Where are your stings O death Sheol is the Hebrew word for hell . Hades is the greek word for hell . Hell is the common grave of mankind , NOT a burning fire. Matthew 22: 32 Jesus said He is the God NOT of the dead but of the living. On hearing that the crowds were astonished at his teaching. The dead are in Gods memory and will be resurrected to earth sometime after Armageddon. A small number in comparison go to heaven to rule with Christ for a 1000 years over the earth. Revelation 20:6 Acts 24:15 There's going to be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous. .
