Anyone else noticed the middle and last parts of Sales' songs are always so beautifully crafted

My sister and I listened to SALES out on a blanket in our front yard. The sun was just starting to set, we had one of our guinea pigs with us, and the wind was blowing, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was warm, and the feeling it gave was perfect. Like I was already nostalgic about it.

This reminds me of my best friend. Life's been stupid and hard currently. She's the only one I've told about everything that I've been feeling. But she doesn't overdo it. She just acknowledges my hard days, smiles at me, makes a few jokes, leaves me alone when I need to be, and gives me a hug if I ask. She makes me feel _normal_, which is a hard thing to do right now. Of course it won't always work. But she's always been there

This group is like so authentic the drums are so crunchy the bass is so basic but in a good way and the guitar is sweeter than glass of lemonade with honey in it and the singer has a very cute and soothing voice I love it

TW: mentions of abuse(emotional) and abusive relationships I feel like this song is about an emotionally abusive relationship. Ivy is the “abuser” abusing the person by suffocating them with their emotional problems and not letting them express their own troubles which makes the relationship one-sided and toxic. (hence why it said “baby, sweetheart, you’re so insecure” meaning they have heavy insecurity issues) along with the lines “fill me with your need; I don’t need to breathe” which is referencing (for me) all the emotionally draining problems Ivy(abuser) throws on to the person and doesn’t let them “breathe”(express how they feel also) The lines: oh I understand, always understand. What’s the problem? Is them asking what’s wrong with Ivy and Ivy expresses they aren’t there enough emotionally. Which in fact is wrong since it’s an emotionally abusive relationship. So the person cuts the relationship off due to the tension between them and Ivy since Ivy no longer sees them as help to their huge insecure and emotional issues. But that’s just what I think it’s about, it may be really wrong but that’s how I interpret this song. 💜
